Stella H.Would not recommend this company. We had someone come out for an estimate 6 months ago and they have been 'so busy that they don't have time to schedule an installation date.' We called Costco and they were able to send someone out and schedule an installation date within 10 days.
Unprofessional, unreliable and unethical. Do you homework before choosing this company. Storm chasers that can damage your insurance.
Anthony and Summit Roofing literally changed my life. I was looking at 20K to put a new roof on my house from all the wind--it was going to kill me financially. When Anthony came by and said they could get the insurance to pay for it I literally laughed at him. He took the time to convince me and explain everything, so I told him they could try.
I had Mercury insurance, a complete nightmare to deal with, but the Summit Team refused to back down and supported me the whole way thru. I was in tears when they said Mercury was paying the bill. A few months later I had a new roof on the house with only my deductible due.
I've recommended Anthony to multiple people--one friend just got his roof as well!--and I highly recommend contacting them before getting a new roof for any reason!
Mel M.We had our roof done maybe almost two years ago so this is a little overdue but there were so many issues with these guys. They did a good job on the roof and Thomas was great to work with.
The first day at lunch time I caught two of the workers drinking alcohol on the job and one was driving the dump truck. I reported them to Carlos and I didn't see them the rest of the project. According to Thomas they were fired. I did see Carlos come by the next day around lunch checking their receipts and looking at their beverages to make sure no alcohol was being consumed. They finished the job within 3-4 days but they forgot to paint and do the flashing around the chimney so we had to call them and tell which they did send out two guys.
Besides the drinking my other big complaints are they left so many nails everywhere in which we are still finding. The other complaint they left a bunch of garbage on side of front yard and inside backyard. They would come by and pick up some but not all then we would have to call again. So frustrating. If you guys are going to do the work clean up first instead of going to your next job. My neighbor had his roof done by them after us and I noticed they left their garbage there too and it took them a week plus to come and get it.
They do excellent work in a timely fashion and have amazing subcontractors especially their painter!! And they help get us qualified for programs to better fit our budget!I would definitely use them again!
Laura M.Summit Roofing gave us a pleasant experience with the stress of getting a new roof.
Tyler and Thomas in sales explained everything that would happen on our part and our insurance company.
Tyler checked up on workdays to make sure everything was going smoothly.
Carlos the work manager, also; was helpful with answering any questions I had with work being done.
Our Roof looks Great !
Came out and looked at my repair. Estimator promised the quote would be emailed to me in a couple of days. After a couple of days, I called and was told the estimate would be emailed by the end of the day. Should have stopped there, but I was desperate to get my roof repaired. When I finally got the quote I emailed back my approval and sent them a text as well. After 24 hours, I called them and the woman said they would get back to me. After another 24 hours and hearing nothing, I went with another company.
Angelica B.I needed an estimate for a repair on my roof. Mat came out to take a look at my roof. He told my husband he'd get back to us before the week was out. We never got a call or an email. We gave them a couple of days to reach out. We figured they were busy. Then another rep came to my door to see if I needed my roof checked out. I told him we had someone from their company come out already and that Mat never got back to us. He apologized for it and told me he'd have someone in the office reach out to me. They never did. I decided to call because I wanted to support my community by having a local company do the repair. The woman who took my call apologized for the delay in communication, she told me she'd have Mat get back to me, but that she would definitely reach out to me before the end of the day. I looked the hours of operation on Google and it said they closed at 9PM. I waited all day and received no call from Mat nor the woman who told me she'd definitely call me back. I gave her a call around 8:40. She informed me that their office closed at 4:30 PM and I was calling after hours. I let her know that Google shows their hours of operation are from 7AM to 9PM. She apologized for that and told me she'd call me in the morning. Then when I told her she had told me she'd give me a call she told me that she assumed Mat had reached out to me. Sorry summit roofing, but it was just very unprofessional to me that I kept getting a run around. We decided to go with another roofing company.
I highly recommend this company. If anyone is ever in need of solar or roofing they are it!! Thomas and Dave were extremely helpful in the whole process. With the heavy wind storms ripping off our roof and A/c unit we were going to pay for all the repairs ourselves, but lucky these two were able to work with my insurance company and was able to get it covered. They were so sweet and patient with us in the whole process which we are so thankful for.
Hector L.First, I want to say this review is long overdue. Our roof was replaced December 2019; and even though I intended to write a review, I honestly forgot. Then the pandemic happened so I did not have the energy nor was I motivated to write one. I decided to write a review after almost a year because of what we discovered about the prep work that was done last December.
Pros:
*Thomas C. was the salesperson who assisted us in communicating with our insurance company to get our roof replaced under our policy; we only had to pay our deductible. Thomas was extremely helpful, friendly and not pushy at all when trying to get our business. Ultimately, the interaction with Thomas influenced our decision when choosing Summit Solar and Roofing. Thomas communicated with us throughout the entire process...5 stars for Thomas!
*Roof - Installation went smoothly except prep work (details in Cons section). We are satisfied with the final outcome haven't had any issues with the roof itself. Also, Thomas replaced our rain gutters at no cost to us.
CONS:
Carlos (I believe this was his name) - the onsite manager, the person who was supposed to oversee the project is the biggest complaint we have about this company. The first issue occurred when a worker's foot/tool (not sure of the cause) created a sizeable hole (approx 3x3) in our 18 month old son's room. Accidents happen; therefore, we were not at all upset about the hole, it was my interaction with Carlos that upset me.
Carlos returned that evening to prep the hole prior to it being prepared. Carlos was going to cut the hole so he could start repairing the drywall until I stopped him and expressed a concern for asbestos; our house is old and has popcorn ceilings. Carlos responded saying asbestos is only an issue if it's wet. I do not have much knowledge about asbestos, but I know the opposite to be true. Told Carlos not to disturb the ceiling anymore than it already was, stating dust or fibers are known to be harmful if they are inhaled or ingested. Carlos seemed dismissive and did not validate my concerns. I immediately contacted Thomas to express my concerns and requested they test for asbestos.
Thomas and the owner came over to our home the next day to apologize for the hole and to say they were going to test for asbestos at a lab prior to the hole being repaired (excellent communication by both of them). The testing was done immediately and confirmed asbestos, but thankfully an abatement was not needed. Thomas made arrangements for the hole to be prepared while they were completing the roof, but it was disheartening to see Carlos show up to 'oversee' the repair. The hole was repaired, but we were not satisfied with the work as you can tell where the ceiling was patched; this will need to be fixed before we decide to sell.
The 2nd issue with Carlos is that he did not lay tarp in the attic or garage. My husband needed to leave one day for an errand, but told Carlos he would make arrangements if he needed access to the garage. Carlos said not to worry and they would not start on the garage until he returned. Carlos did not tarp which created a lot of dust, dirt and debri in our garage. After the work was completed, we had to remove everything and clean up the mess that was left behind. In my opinion, Carlos' lack of integrity makes the company look bad.
3rd issue with Carlos is he also did not tarp the attic. We recently had issues with rodents; therefore, we hired a company to solve that problem and replace the existing insulation. The worker advised us the roofing company was 'lazy' because they should have tarped the attic; said there is a lot of debri from the roof replacement. They said we are lucky the insulation is old and needed to be replaced anyway; if not, the existing insulation would have been ineffective because of the layer of debri left on top of the insulation. I am not sure if tarping attics is standard prep work for this company; if not, this is something the costumer should be made aware of so they can tarp it themselves to prevent cleanup and possible damage to their insulation.
Ultimately, the quality of the roof replacement was excellent; and we were extremely satisfied with the customer service from Thomas and the owner. I would recommend this company to others, but would be hesitant if Carlos is the project manager.
