They installed a chimney cap in 2020 it started pouring in my house I called they said they would be out to check it. Kept calling and calling no answer. So I finally messaged on FB no answer someone looked at the message. So today I dove over there and they have closed/ moved. Finally, someone answered the phone and said they would come out and check. No one showed up, no one answered the phone so I guess he doesn't want to fix the problem.

I had an sheet metal roof put up and it started leaking from day one. Never could fix it. Now I have to tear it down and replace it. Which they did it wronge in the first place but did not want to fix it

They relied on us for a lift to get much of the work done. This shingle roof was done in 2012 and we had leek problems that we thought were from siding. Turned out to be roofers installed flashing backwards on 1 dormer.

Our real estate agent pointed us toward Summers Roofing and we were not disappointed. I watched most of the process. The shingles perfectly matched neighbors' condos (good thing!), they worked steadily, inspected, and inspected again. Care was taken to make sure the property line on the roof between condos would not leak. We're still looking for the roofing nail on the ground they forgot, and haven't found it. They picked *everything* up, and then cleaned up a few pieces of debris that slipped onto my neighbor's patio. Price? Not the highest or the lowest; that perfect spot in between. Summers has my vote.

I would not recommend hiring Summers Roofing of Pawleys Island South Carolina. Most horrible experience of my life. Almost killed me. Our home located at 4498 Wintersweet Lane Murrells Inlet, South Carolina had a water leak in the kitchen window area. I obtained the building permit and hired Summers to correct it. The damage, grief and misery Summers caused my family was unbearable. During the repair process (which seemed to go on for an eternity), the area under repair leaked repeatedly and Summers would send his men to patch the areas. Immediately after Summers claimed the repair was ""complete"", he handed me a bill loaded with extra charges we never agreed upon. I refused to pay telling him I would make payment only after I was confident the area no longer leaked water. Within days of the repair having been ""completed"", we experienced rain storms. Water flowed in through the area that was supposed to have been repaired damaging my sheetrock and floors. My kitchen was flooded. Summers returned and claimed to have fixed the leak. However, the area continued to leak during subsequent storms causing even more damage until Summers finally resolved it. He had to repeatedly rip his own work apart numerous times to locate the problem. During that time I discovered Summers had installed an underlayment material on the exterior vertical walls that did not conform to building code. I met with Georgetown County Building Department representative Robert Cox who reviewed the information and sent Summers a written order to remove the material and replace it with a code approved underlayment. Rather than correct the problem Summers hired a lawyer, Gregory Weathers of Pawleys Island, who served me with a notice to foreclose on the property if we didn't pay up (this was also posted to our credit reports). I contacted Mr. Weathers and advised we would pay when Summers corrects the code violations. The notice to Summers from the building department did not yield a resolution. Other than the written order to remove and replace the material, the building department took no action against Summers or his license at the time. In fact, the building department overlooked the incorrect material and signed off on the completed work. In addition, they never showed up to inspect the work even though I called and scheduled an inspection. The property had no mortgage and South Carolina law allowed Summers to force the sale of our home to collect his and his attorney's fees, without correcting the problem even though ordered to do so by the building department. In order to correct the problem, Summers would have needed to dismantle everything he just completed including removing the siding from the entire rear wall of the house, remove the incorrect underlayment he installed and replace it with the correct material. The building inspector advised us if the material is not removed, it will suffocate the walls creating mold and moisture problems inside the house. This went on unresolved for more than a year. In the end we could no longer endure the stress and sold the house to buyers who agreed to accept the problem. We lost a fortune on the property plus the additional expense of hiring a lawyer to hold off foreclosure. To my knowledge the material has never been removed and the defect remains. Upon the sale of the property we were forced to pay Summers in order to get the foreclosure released. Consumer beware, particularly in the state of South Carolina. The state is pro business which ultimately means anti consumer. I am not saying this is the end result in all work performed by Mr. Summers. I am merely stating my own experience with him and his lawyer Gregory Weathers. In my opinion these two men seem to work very well together and it appears they have this practice down to a science in a state that allows contractors to foreclose on homes in spite of shoddy workmanship. I have never, ever before or since encountered what I consider to be the most incompetent, unprofessional people I have ever experienced in my lifetime. Beware South Carolina consumers. The law there does not protect you. Speak with an attorney about having your contractor sign a ""Lien Waiver"" prior to proceeding with any work to your property. Make sure your contractor is licensed in the specific areas of construction you are in need of. Last but not least, get a permit or permits for the work you are doing and make sure the building department physically inspects and signs off on each phase. One last thing. Yelp will not permit me to post this unless I select at least one star. In my opinion, this contractor isn't worthy of it.
