I 'could' encourage shopping around but I feel like efforts would be moot. John and his team are stand-up, professional, clean, on time, comprehensive, respectful, available, responsive and cohesive, (meaning: they know exactly what to do, who is doing what, when and how). It just looks like a well oiled machine watching them work. Could NOT be happier. Also, John is a hands-on kind of owner that gets his hands dirty and takes great care of and communicates well with his team. Much respect.

Hi, I have lived in Plantation in the same home for over 30 years. 13 years ago I was in the market for a new roof and was fortunate enough to have found Stevenson roofing company. After doing business with such a professional and courteous Company as this and being exceptionally pleased, I have yet to have a problem with my roof.!!! Unfortunately over the years it needed to be pressure cleaned and obviously the companies that did the work were somewhat careless and created cracks and chips in my roof tiles. I recently received a letter from my insurance company stating that these problems needed to be repaired. I called the company that installed the roof, Stevenson roofing. Johns response was immediate and swift and by weeks end my problem was solved. I am somewhat of a perfectionist and like things done a certain way, and I would recommend this company highly to anyone interested in having the roof done and that lives in Plantation.!!!

Waited a long time to post this for 2 reasons. One is, I NEVER do these, normally if I don't like something I will not recommend it/ them. Two, I wanted to wait to see if John Stevenson would do the right thing.
Number 2 never happened so here I am.
Do NOT hire this roofer! Did my roof in Plantation Nov. 2012 and noticed a leak in April 2013. John came and claimed it wasn't the roof, said it was leaching in through the foundation. After I did a hose test on the roof he agreed it was the roof. Went up for the repair and claimed it was a nail bent over and not driven in straight, said this happens rarely.
The roof was ok for a short period but soon after I was still getting moisture depending on frequency and direction of rain. After many calls to him and a few legal threats he showed April 2015 to make a second repair to same spot. His reason this time was, it's a poor roof design. Needless to say it leaked again soon after. After chasing him down (took almost 2 years!) he came back early 2017. I had words with him and his response was.... I have cancer and nothing in life is guaranteed. I've lost many close to me to cancer and I relate. However, I'm not sure what relevance this had to a $60,000.00 roof gone bad. Anyway here I am October 2019 and with the last week of rain, the leak shows itself again. I'll get someone else out here to do it right. I forgot to mention that I've been chasing John since the last repair and he's always too busy to do the right thing.
So, if anybody was to ask me about Stevenson Roofing....Stay away!

We had a horrible experience with Stevenson Roofing. The job was subcontracted out to Affordable Roofing (the workers showed up with a piece of paper duck taped over their door company sign, took off their logo shirts and turned them inside out). The work was terrible with a lot of broken and cracked tiles. I tried to tell John Stevenson this, but he would only yell at me. We are still trying to get the cracked and broken tiles replaced. Sadly I paid John after he pleaded what a long week he had and his team had already gone home, he promised to replace the last of the cracked tiles, but he won't take my calls now...The whole experience was terrible, holes thru the ceiling (John didn't tell me about it, but when questioned replied ""oh yeah, you'll need to fix that""), throwing out our gutters that we were going to put back up, pressuring to use Super Gutters who was also terrible to work with, no communication, and we only saw him on the job for 30 minutes over the 3 days that the tile was being put on. If you do contract with Stevenson, don't fall for his pleading...don't pay until all the work is done....and know you may not get the Stevenson Roofing team doing the work. With the extra costs you incur (almost $5000), the next lowest quote may be your best option. We had a lot of stress and sleepless nights due to this.

Wow, what else can I say, these guys are unbelievable, When Jon says they will be there at 7:30, they will be there at 7:28! Ready to go, like Storm Troopers!! This is not just a roofing company it is THE ROOFING COMPANY! No BS, they are ""roof artists"", if you want a professional job done masterfully then you have just found the right company! I had 2 areas of the roof that were not built correctly, these guys corrected it without me saying a thing! They have done a few other roofs in the neighborhood and have had glowing reviews from two of my neighbors! Whats even more impressive, they were the most reasonably priced company and are doing far more than the other 2 companies we had quote us.
This company is a rare find in South Florida, 100% total professionals they covered everything and kept it all super clean too. I couldn't be any more impressed.
Wished all companies worked the way these guys do!

When a roof leak morphed into the need for a new roof people told me to use Stevenson or they included Stevenson with 1 or 2 other well-known companies. I know why the short list is Stevenson. It is for me now, too.

This company deserves more than 5 stars. This is why:

SUNKISSED FACE LIKE THE REST OF 'EM: Unlike the 4 other roofing companies that quoted a new roof, this owner works with his crew. He's on the site with the guys. I first met John when he was checking out our roof on a Sunday - before we awarded him the job. That's John. (At that time I didn't realize he put new roofs on 2 neighbors' houses near mine!)

WELL OILED MACHINE: His crew averages 15 years tenure with his company - with only 2 people leaving - 1 relocated and 1 died. His people know how he works and what he wants - and they deliver. They must've cleaned up daily - no debris meant no paw injuries.

NO SHELL GAME: The quote and the job aligned. No surprises. No bill padding. No BS delays. They showed up when they said they were. And when weather delayed them once, the owner called.

ART MEETS FUNCTION: The work crew is quick, quiet and organized. One day I thanked one of the guys and he was a bit surprised. He said that not everyone thanks them. How do you watch someone make your house beautiful and not acknowledge their talent?

PASS ON THE PEPPERONI: On the fly I once asked John if I could order pizza for his crew and he said they were set. After the job was over I thanked him again and told him that I know some owners like their crews lean and mean but I meant it when I offered to buy them lunch. John told me they didn't like pizza. My eyes widened as I asked him, ""Really John, do you think I had a fixation with pizza? It wasn't about what they ate, it was about showing them my gratitude and respect for their work."" He laughed. So I say to you if you want to get the guys lunch don't offer pizza!

NO BATTERIES NEEDED: At the end of the job, I saw a couple of tile pieces in my pool. The owner came to my house to finish the paperwork and remove the tile pieces. I told him I planned on going in the pool during the next few days but he insisted on fishing the pieces out himself. I agreed, assuming that there must be a special tool or special process. There was none - just a very accountable business owner whose niceness is only edged out by his professionalism.

ROOF DIDN'T CAVE IN:. Do I love the tile? Yes. Does the house look a million times better? Yes. Everything looks right - not botched or rigged. EVEN THE CLAY MATCHED THE TILE COLOR (We used a subtle blend of 3 colors) so they used more than one color clay!

Beyond the aesthetic, I'm so glad we chose this company. There was no drama or trauma. Everything went as planned. And I expect the roof will serve well for years to come.

I suggest that anyone in the Broward County vicinity request a roofing quote from Jon at Stevenson's Roofing Co. In 2013 I began getting roof quotes for a full roof replacement for a shingle roof and a flat roof- my 1950's home has both. Since my roof still had life, I waited until December 2015 to get revised quotes. I received 5 quotes, and did an extensive spreadsheet so I could compare apples to apples (type of shingle, underlayment, type of nails, , warranties, flashing, price, and some other minor items). Not only was Stevenson's roofing the best price for the best material and process, their price did not increase from years earlier! I am a very tough customer to deal with, and the owner, Jon, was able to work with me seamlessly. The workers were on time, they were professional and skilled, they cleaned up each day, and when the job was done, we walked the roof together for a final inspection. The team had to do extensive wood rot replacement, and it was done very well. Jon didn't charge for much of the wood he replaced, surprisingly. Everything was perfect, and as planned. No surprises, no added costs, just a great job for a great price! Do yourself a favor, get a quote from Stevenson's Roofing Company for flat, shingle, or tile roofs- You'll be glad you did ;)
