I needed my metal roof replaced due to a very poor initial installation when the house was built 14 years ago. Steiger Roofing was the subcontractor for my builder, who assisted me in overseeing the work. Jim and his crew worked methodically and steadily, removing one section of the old metal at a time, and applying additional roofing felt to the section, ensuring that there was no chance for any leaks while the area was prepared for the installation of the new metal. Several significant rainstorms punctuated the progress, and there were no leaks - even in the areas where the new roof was not yet completed. They also inspected the integrity of the roof decking given the poor condition of the old roof, and carefully replaced several sections of water-damaged wood as the project progressed. The two-man crew worked every fair-weather day for three weeks to complete the removal, repair, and replacement of about 6000 square feet of roof, including numerous complex transitions around windows, dormers and between the house and the garage. The quality of the work was outstanding, and the crew did a great job cleaning up he job site. The new roof looks wonderful, as they went to great lengths to carefully trim out all the many complex edges. I highly recommend Jim and his crew to anyone who needs a quality roof installation.

It's Raining its Pouring

Hired Steger Roofing of Ellijay, Ga., to fix a leak on the roof of our cabin porch in November. Jim Steger returned our call quickly and came out with a small crew to repair the leak.
I've been traveling back and forth between our cabin in the Blue Ridge mountains and Atlanta helping to care for a relative under Hospice care. When I returned in a week it was raining the the porch was leaking again in the same place. I called Steger Roofing immediately and again for the next ten days with no response. My husband called also. Jim Steger finally called me back on 12/8 and said he would come back to fix the ""fix"" and asked for directions to our cabin. That was 10 days ago and nothing, it's rained since and still leaking. I've called back at least 6 times to get a specific time. All my calls have gone unanswered. I guess I will have to contact another roofer to get the leak repaired. My experience has not been good at all. I could not recommend Steger Roofing and am so disappointed in their lack of professionalism.
