Mark Steele and a couple of his guys worked on the roof where we rent. They left a flat roof open every night for over a week. Well, it poured down rain and we had a lot of water come in and destroy our laminate floor and ceiling tiles. Mark said he's not responsible since he knocked on our back door hours after the rain and the person there didn't let him in. We had it drying with three commercial fans for a few days. The water was already under the flooring, and this floor is not waterproof.
Anyway, there's no back door to our unit, and our phone number is on the front door if he wanted to get in. His insurance company says he's not covered for damages caused by leaving a roof wide open overnight even though they covered the damage in another unit.
I went up and looked at their work when they finished. It's not even billable work/very sloppy. I was a Forman in a roofer's local with over 30 years experience. Everywhere I worked, we took care of any damage especially caused by leaks. Steer clear of this hack.

I used this company six years ago to replace my roofs. Not only was the job 20% more than the original quote, but the flat part of my roof and water heater house are falling apart.
I spoke to Todd on the phone who quoted me one price, and when the owner came out it was a ""miss communication"" and the quote grew by $1800. My home is only 1028 sq. ft.
One thing that really bothered me was when Meeks Lumber Co. put a lien on my house for the cost of materials. I didn't think that a company in good standing, credit wise, would have that as a requirement. The Lien was lifted once I paid the contractor.
The yard was left a disaster with dozens of nails surrounding the house. I kept finding more for several months. I also had to insist that they come back to clean and clear the yard of refuge.
In the end I tried opening the door to my attic, in the hallway with a step stool, and every bit of roofing material, rocks, junk, dirt came raining down on my head.
I haven't attempted to go up again.

We are very happy with this company and highly recommend them for your roofing needs. We reached out to three companies for quotes, Steele's roofing responded first, another roofer finally responded and nothing from the third request. When Mark came to check out our roof, he was very professional and a straight shooter. We needed a compete roof tear off and a new roof installed. The job was done in a timely manner and the crew were very professional, kind and knowledgeable. They picked up every scrap at the end of each day, blowing off the walkways, collecting any trash, leaving our yards clear of any debris which I greatly appreciated. You won't be disappointed in their work. Thank you Mark and crew!

Could not be happier! Mark runs a tight ship everything done on time clean great craftsmanship and also great communication. He's a straight shooter and tells you how it is. About any swearing in other reviews nothing more you here in the school yard or at a Giants game. I would highly recommend Steel's.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. Several years ago Steele re-roofed our house, only to cause a leak. After numerous attempts to fix it, we had to take him to mediation and we were awarded a significant settlement.

Now on another section of the roof we have discovered that Steele did not properly attach the flashing and it is falling off.

Shoddy workmanship, personally rude, wholly unreliable.

Would like to give this roofing contractor a thumb's up for doing a good job. I unexpectedly needed a roof to get our house on the market and they were able to quote the job and get it done in two weeks. I felt that they communicated well and their price was reasonable....maybe not the cheapest but in the right ballpark. I liked that they were insured and licensed. They were clean, fast, and did a quality job. Thanks Todd and Mark!!

Very rude. Everyone. Especially the main guy I dealt with Todd. i would never use them again. awful, inconsiderate, and hard to get a hold of until the bill is due, then they call you over and over like a collection agency. if you're in butte county, go with c&c roofing.

After our landlord had these guys out to do some roofing work on our house, I cannot recommend them to anyone. They left a huge mess behind all over our yard and had to be called back to finish the job or else not be paid. Work start time was not supposed to be before 7 am, and several times I was awakened at 6:20 by hammering on the roof right above my bedroom. They unplugged our only outside outlet to use for their own power cord without asking us, so several plants died because our irrigation clock was plugged in to that outlet. They did not ask us if they could use our power and should have brought a generator like any decent company would. Hoses were used, again without our permission, and one was left on the roof so I had to retrieve it with a rake to water our stressed plants. Our veggie garden was partially trampled and covered in roofing debris. I was quite put out when I went to use some basil and found it coated in garbage. There are nails, staples, and bits from the old shingles in every planter bed around the house and we'll have to scrape off the top layer to get rid of it all. Even after they returned to ""clean up"" there are still bits of shingle and plastic all over the yard. Debris was dropped off the roof without any kind of tarping or chute, and a piece of glass yard art was shattered. No apologies were made for any of this. The workers were very unprofessional and inconsiderate.

If you want cheap, you get what you pay for with this company. Do not use them unless you want a subpar job done.
