This company did an estimate for my home on 02/17/2015. After that they made them self disappeared. I left many messages on their voice mail, but No one is returning my call. After reviewing all the negative experience with this company. Now I feel that I am luck not have them to do the roofing work for my house.

If there is a choice, I will put them negative stars!!!

Obviously this is not a roofing company that I can trust. If you do not want problem, then do not even calling on this firm!!! period.

They have an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. They also claim membership in the BBB and the National Roofing Contractors Association on their web page, but they are not members and have been ordered to removed the claims. For us they are failing to fix a leaky roof that they guaranteed for 20 years.

Bruce came out to inspect our roof. Seemed like a nice enough guy, but we never heard from him again. Called the office, said they would send a quote over but never did. We inquired about our roof estimate 5 times over a two week period and never got a quote from them. If they did not want the job, they should just say so, instead of leaving us hanging. They get one star from me due to their lack of professionalism.

Came home this afternoon for my toddler's nap only to find a Standard Roofing truck and trailer spewing toxic fumes all over our property. Even though our windows were closed the toxic stench was so bad in the house we could not stay.

The roofing guys at first did not seem to care, saying they would be done in ""a while"". They did not care that our house was filled with toxic fumes and we have a toddler in need of her afternoon nap.

I got very mad and eventually a foreman agreed to move, but only after he tried talking me into letting him stay for ""a while longer""..ugh!

Totally unprofessional with complete disregard for the neighbors or surrounding area.

Do NOT use these people.

The estimator Bruce Mullins was on time and professional. Most importantly, he diagnosed the problem. I had 3 contractors come out and look at our 3 unit condo building with a leak. All 3 of them scrambled on to the roof and looked at the affected area. All told me that they would ""fix"" the problem for basically the same price. However, I went with Bruce and his bid because they are definitely licensed and insured (I check with www.cslb.ca.gov) You can see it here: https://www2.cslb.ca.gov/OnlineServices/CheckLicenseII/LicenseDetail.aspx?LicNum=348544
And at the bottom -- you can always check to make sure the salesperson for a licensed contractor is actually licensed personally (and Bruce Mullins is their licensed salesperson.)
I would hire this company again.

zero stars. i called standard roofing because of two leaks in our house. i pointed out specifically where the leaks were inside the house, and the location on the roof above the leak (the worse of the two was right below the light well off the bathroom). i was told i needed a new roof to correct this. i signed the contract and when they later showed up to do the work, i asked when they were going to do the lightwell. i was talking to the same guy who i had earlier pointed that out to . . . . he told me that they were not going to replace the lightwell, that that was not a normal part of a roofing contract. when i reminded him that that was the whole reason i had called, he said ""hey, did you thoroughly read the contract?"" well, my mistake, i guess i did not, so i hope hundreds of people thoroughly read this review. there is more. they wanted an additional 30% of the amount to do the roof, to do this little light well. i was short on cash, and upset with them, and instead, they did a sweep and glaze of the lightwell but when it rained it did not work out for us. i called to get them to do the lightwell, and they wanted $1,000 more than they had said the last time! so i did not have them do it, and then, during really heavy rains, the leak in the house was much worse than before they replaced my roof and took all my money! so during a heavy storm i looked into the lightwell to see the water shooting over the funnel (or leader head as they call it) that collects the water and sends it down the vertical pipe and on its way under the house and out to the sewer line in the street! the water was flowing so fast off the roof that it shot over the top of the funnel and the water wasn't even going down the funnel into the pipe! i had never seen that happen before. when it stopped raining the next day i went up there and saw that they made this funnel (or leader head) lower than it used to be, by a few inches, making it possible for the water to shoot over the top, which could not have happened before they shortened the height of this funnel. you could see the marks on the wall of the lightwell from where it used to be. i called them and asked them to replace it to be the height of what it used to be. so he came over, and we went up to look at it -- get a load of what he told me: he said he couldn't because it would violate a city ordinance -- the city didn't want that much water going into the sewer system all at once! what an idiot! so when the water goes down the drain on the floor of the lightwell out to the street, that is somehow different than if it goes down the vertical pipe in the lightwell instead?!!! this guy is either: 1) too dumb for words, or 2) just the biggest liar to ever provide roofing services! can you imagine a city ordinance that requires you to flood out your house during heavy storms?!!! i told him to leave and i called the owner. what a bonehead this guy is! he backed up the same baloney that the estimator/foreman told me! i have since discussed leader head height with a real, genuine roofing company, and learned that the lower heights are to prevent the water (in the event the drain becomes clogged) from rising up and then standing against the wall of the house, and then leaking into the house through the wall at that point. however, the real roofer advised me that this applies when the overflow would go into your yard, not into a light well. the real roofer said that because the drain is so small in the floor of a lightwell, the funnel (or leader head) had to be tall to insure the water not going into the lightwell and flooding out the house! i hope that yelp lets me rate these clowns with zero stars, and i hope that hundreds, if not thousands, read this review very thoroughly. oh, one last thing -- standard roofing has you sign a binding arbitration clause to keep disputes out of court. do not sign this. the whole roofing job is at or near the amount of small claims court, and that is where this would be heard in court, and you would have a lot of power at no real cost to you. binding arbiration requires you get a lawyer to deal with their lawyer. it's a lot more money than going to small claims court!

A total lack of respect, concern, and courtesy for neighbors and the neighborhoods in which they work.

Standard Roofing did an excellent job for me. I had been searching for a roofer to replace a galvanized gutter along the front of my house. I had bids up to $1,600 for ~30' of gutter with two corners. Standard came in and did it for $550 and did a fine job. I am disappointed to see the other complaints here, but I had a very good experience.

I asked them for an estimate for a new roof and actually had to chase them to get them to send it! In the middle of a recession!!

When I finally got hold of the sales guy a few days later it was 2.05 pm and he told me it was too late to talk with me because he stopped working at 2 pm!

He promised to call me the next day, however, no phone call was forthcoming!

It's amazing they are still in business!
