Horrible, horrible company.

I had an appointment today at 1:30 PM for someone from Standard Roofing to come by and give an estimate for a possible issue with our roof. For some reason there was a note on the appointment for the person to call me instead of knocking on my door or ringing the doorbell.

I got a call at 1:52 PM (22 minutes late) that someone from Standard Roofing called my phone and left a voicemail saying they were at my house. I was in the middle of dealing with my child and did not see the call but saw the voicemail immediately after and called the person less than one minute later. I called two more times and finally someone named Bruce picked up the phone.

When I spoke with Bruce I let him know that I missed his call and asked if he was possibly still in the area. He immediately was incredibly rude to me and started yelling at me and saying he was told not to ring the doorbell and he was already gone. I understood that point and was about to ask about setting up a new time for him to possibly come by but I could not as he proceeded to yell at me and tell me he was already on the freeway and ask me why there was a note on the appointment in the first place. He asked me several times even though I said I did not know. All of this was done in an extremely aggressive and angry tone which I found incredibly upsetting. I tried to tell him I do not know why that note was on the appointment at which point he screamed at me ""Do you know how many estimates I have to do every day????"" I said I would be contacting a different company to get an estimate at which point he hung up on me.

I am completely in shock at how the phone call went. I understand that people get busy and that things get behind, I even understand that he called and I did not answer the phone but the tone and aggression of his voice when he spoke to me was appalling and I was extremely upset by it. It was completely unacceptable and incredibly rude.

Had these guys do our roof 20 years ago. Wanted to have work done and called multiple times. Finally spoke to a girl that seems to hate answering the phone. Finally spoke with the boss... He said he would come out and give me a quote. Never showed. Never returned calls.

Absolutely NO customer service. Multiple emails, calls. No response. Finally get a call and a guy comes out... no truck, no ladder. They give me a quote, takes another 5 weeks to schedule. They ask me for the signed quote (for the third time... I just forward the same email over and over with the documents they need). Zero office support, why bother with an email or phone number if no one ever replies. And my contractor says they are one of better ones in the City???

Standard has always taken good care if our roofing needs the past 20 years. Bruce came out in the pouring rain one year and took care of a problem created by neighbor's roofer, who didnt put the flashing back down on our adjoining buildings. They put shingles on years ago and just put up a nice tar and gravel. Cleaned up well too. Nothing you can do about the smell of tar. Great guys!

I had tar and gravel roof install and they made a mess on the sidewalk. After 1yrs the roof develop a small leak, I call many time and no one ever showed up. Do believe in there 20 yr warranty its just a scam.

This company did an estimate for my home on 02/17/2015. After that they made them self disappeared. I left many messages on their voice mail, but No one is returning my call. After reviewing all the negative experience with this company. Now I feel that I am luck not have them to do the roofing work for my house.

If there is a choice, I will put them negative stars!!!

Obviously this is not a roofing company that I can trust. If you do not want problem, then do not even calling on this firm!!! period.

They have an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. They also claim membership in the BBB and the National Roofing Contractors Association on their web page, but they are not members and have been ordered to removed the claims. For us they are failing to fix a leaky roof that they guaranteed for 20 years.

Bruce came out to inspect our roof. Seemed like a nice enough guy, but we never heard from him again. Called the office, said they would send a quote over but never did. We inquired about our roof estimate 5 times over a two week period and never got a quote from them. If they did not want the job, they should just say so, instead of leaving us hanging. They get one star from me due to their lack of professionalism.

Came home this afternoon for my toddler's nap only to find a Standard Roofing truck and trailer spewing toxic fumes all over our property. Even though our windows were closed the toxic stench was so bad in the house we could not stay.

The roofing guys at first did not seem to care, saying they would be done in ""a while"". They did not care that our house was filled with toxic fumes and we have a toddler in need of her afternoon nap.

I got very mad and eventually a foreman agreed to move, but only after he tried talking me into letting him stay for ""a while longer""..ugh!

Totally unprofessional with complete disregard for the neighbors or surrounding area.

Do NOT use these people.

The estimator Bruce Mullins was on time and professional. Most importantly, he diagnosed the problem. I had 3 contractors come out and look at our 3 unit condo building with a leak. All 3 of them scrambled on to the roof and looked at the affected area. All told me that they would ""fix"" the problem for basically the same price. And at the bottom -- you can always check to make sure the salesperson for a licensed contractor is actually licensed personally (and Bruce Mullins is their licensed salesperson.)
I would hire this company again.
