Company Overview

At Bill Sprauer Roofing, we construct high-quality roofs with shingle using first-rate materials. Whether you need a new roof, repairs, or a complete replacement, we focus on both residential and commercial projects. Our service area includes Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Leander, Georgetown, Elgin, and Bastrop.

We also assist you with the insurance process. Our goal is to help you avoid out-of-pocket expenses for a roof that should be insured. If you qualify for a claim, we’ll support you through the process—ensuring you receive the coverage you deserve without added stress.

I started from the bottom, cleaning up for a roofing crew at just 12 years old during summer breaks. I worked as an installer for several companies throughout my career. I later became a project manager and estimator for one of the top companies in the roofing industry. In the end, I chose to establish my own company.

With more than 30 years of direct experience as a roofing installer and sales with a reliable local roofing company, I’ve encountered every side of this field. My mission in starting this business was simple: to provide honesty, transparency, and genuine care in an industry that can often intimidate homeowners. We don’t just sell roofs—we aim to ease your worries, inform you about the process, and deliver trustworthy solutions. To me, roofing is not just a job; it’s a craft, and I’m committed to making sure clients feel informed and supported throughout the entire process.

Our old roof needed to be completely replaced. I submitted a request through Yelp for a quote and got a call from Bill himself within an hour. He was at my business probably 30 minutes after that. Gave me a quote on the spot. I contacted 3 other roofing contractors and none were as responsive. Bill's quote was also the lowest of the 4. Once he was awarded the job, he had the roof delivered and installed just 2 weeks later. Other contractors were months out. They accommodated our business schedule and did the installation on a weekend. After installation, they did an outstanding job cleaning; it was like they were never even here. The new roof looks great and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to replace their roof.

We needed a roof inspection and Alex responded within minutes. A couple days later he went out and did the inspection. He was great to work with.

There was a roof leaking in to the unit this morning, and we were looking for a help everywhere.

Initially Alex said he only can make time this Friday but suddenly give us call that he will try to be here in 30 min as it is emergency.

He drove from far south of Austin to far north Austin 30-40 min drive to check the roof.

He is very honest and said it is next door's AC unit water overflew into our unit. It is not a roof problem.

I can't thank enough for this company's help when we were desperately in need.

I highly recommend them.

After an extensive roofing company search, we connected with Sprauer. The whole process was seamless and easy. From initial discussion, to in-person estimates and then receiving three different bids on what they assessed, choosing a job/bid and then work completion, took (maybe?) 10 days. Additionally, we got to work with the happiest guy in roofing: Alex. He was readily available to answer questions, polite, knowledgeable and always smiling. As we all know, looking for help lately means dealing with cold demeanors, delayed work and frustration. Sprauer Roofing and the entire team, including the professionalism from Rosindo, were a refreshing addition of help as we tackle our existing list of home improvements. We appreciate their quick and professional help with our roof.

Working with Bill and his team was as painless an experience as I've ever had with home repairs. Bill himself is very friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to get a hold of; while his team always showed up on time, did excellent work, and got things done quickly.

Bill worked with us and our insurance to get the most for our buck and he stayed on long enough to make sure we were completely satisfied. I highly recommend him for any roofing projects you might have.

Alex contacted me and was able to immediately give me confidence by walking me through the history he and Bill have had in the roofing industry, all while starting this company.

He walked me through insurance claims and coordinated with my insurance agent, sent pictures during install, and generally answered any questions I had.

Would work with them again.

Troy Miller reached out to me almost immediately after requesting service. He was very friendly and polite and accommodating. I actually was gone when I said I would be home and he still made an effort to come back out. Very speedy and efficient. Fair pricing, friendly service, highly recommend. Spoke will Bill on the phone and he was great too. Great company all around.

Bill and his team are insanely awesome. They put a beautiful roof on my 6 year old home. Quality and personal relationship is his finest quality. He goes above and beyond. Even comes back to double check. I have found a friend in this man. If you need a roof, this is your go to!!! I'm extremely pleased!

A hailstorm totaled my asphalt shingle roof earlier this year. Afterwards, I decided to get bids on metal roofs. Aside from being hail resistant, other reasons to go metal: insurance companies offer a significant premium discount for having a metal roof; metal reflects some of the sun's energy, which helps keep the house cooler; and it's made of eco-friendly and recyclable materials.

I first noticed Bill Sprauer's name while reading the reviews for Ace Roofing Company here on Yelp. Various reviewers on Ace's Yelp page seemed to be praising Bill and his work by name. Someone even posted a photo of his business card. But that is common for reviews, so I didn't think much of it.

But then, when I was soliciting additional bids, I noticed one of the companies that contacted me was named Bill Sprauer Roofing. This got my attention. I put two and two together and realized that this guy developed a good reputation with Ace but then left to start his own company. I decided to invite Bill over to give me an estimate. He arrived on time, examined my roof, took some measurements, and wrote me a competitive bid on the spot. Bill answered all my questions and struck me as an honest, no nonsense guy. He made me feel comfortable and at ease about the job, which I needed given that I am an anxious, type-A ""details"" kind of person with high standards. He invited me to hit him with questions any time and promised that he'd keep me updated every step of the way. Bill also explained how he had three separate teams of roofers--one for shingle, one for ceramic tile, and one for metal--because each requires a somewhat different skill set. His lead metal roofer, Alberto, is someone he worked side-by-side with earlier in his career, and he was, according to Bill, methodical and detail-oriented--among the best of the best.

Materials prices have been going up drastically lately, like everything else, and a month+ of rain delayed the start of the work, but Bill cheerfully honored the quoted price. I accepted Bill's bid for 24 gauge McElroy Galvalume ""Surelock"" striated standing seam metal panels with 1.5"" tall seams. This quote included just about everything--shingle removal, new vent fixtures as needed, new decking for any rotted spots, new underlayment with ice-and-water shield at critical junctures, and of course all the metal materials and labor. The work came with a 5-year unconditional workmanship warranty, and the manufacturer warrants the Galvalume metal for 40 years.

On Day 1, the shingles were torn off and hauled away, and the underlayment was put down. Some ""turtle"" or box vents above my garage were sealed up in favor of creating a new vent line along the ridge of the garage. Day 2: More underlayment goes down, and my siding was trimmed to make room for new metal flashing where the roof meets exterior walls. Day 3: Metal drip edge is installed, which sealed the edges of the roof and provided a surface that the panels could grip. The metal panels were delivered and roll-formed late in the day and were staged in my backyard. Day 4: The installers started laying down metal panels and got about 30-40% of my roof covered. My roof is not simple, and they slowed down around penetrations to make sure they got good fits. Day 5 was a Sunday, which the crew took off for some well-deserved rest. (These guys work out in the hot sun for 9+ hours per day!) Day 6: The crew put down another 40-50% coverage in panels, and installed new dryer exhaust and bathroom vents (which matched the Galvalume metal). They also painted my existing fixed vent stacks to match the metal. On Day 7, they finished laying the panels, installed new boots around the vents, sealed them down, and installed the final flashing covers. Later that day, the head supervisor, Estevan, visited the job site and I was able to ask him a few questions about how some of the intricacies of the roof, such as change in slope, were handled. He also explained the (very limited) maintenance I would need to do to the roof every few years, which involved checking the seal/caulking around the vent boots. It was clear that these guys are professionals and have done jobs like this many times before. All of the workers were respectful and polite, and I would have talked with Alberto and Estevan for much longer if I could stand the intense sun exposure (which I can't).

There was a minor hiccup along the way, but when I brought it to Bill's attention, he didn't equivocate: He said he would do what it took to make things right, and he did. Considering the quality of the materials and work, the attention to detail that Bill's roofers abide by, the competitive price, long warranty, and Bill's honest, humble, down-to-earth attitude, I'd happily hire Bill again, and I've already recommended Bill Sprauer Roofing to my neighbors (whose houses were also damaged by the hailstorm).
