Have been a customer since 1995, when a friend and I installed the roof I just removed. Knowledgeable counter staff, generally pretty friendly, and have a very large selection, stuff you can't find at the big home centers. Even did our back yard with materials they sell several yrs ago. Don't think I'll need another roof now after stripping the shingles they delivered last century & installing Landmark Silver Birch, but if I did, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I came in to order roofing materials for my garage roof. I came in with a list and a 2 year old that ran around the office while I tried to concentrate on what I needed. The office staff was super helpful and patient helping me get what I needed. I had already priced out the materials at Home Depot and found that this place was comparable. But their customer service exceeded my expectations. I ended up giving my list to a gentleman that took care of everything for me. I told him what color I wanted for the shingles and he explained the different types and I made my choice from there. While I chased my toddler around this man put in the order and arranged the delivery as well. He gave my son a flashlight to play with to keep him entertained. They have a kiddy corner with coloring books and crayons but my kid would end up coloring the walls so I couldn't leave him there without supervision. Overall I had a great experience doing something that I thought would be complicated. This place was wonderful to work with and their delivery was on time and expedient. They even sent a thank you card afterwards. Exceptional customer service and very knowledgeable about their products!

Buyer beware. Just a few weeks ago i took a book from this location and decided to purchase Boral roofing products. I had a small project of around 140 sq feet. It cost me around 700 dollars to purchase...a bit much of course. Went through the book and thought the Walnut color series 700 would be great. In the photos it demonstrated a mixture of light to medium sandstone color with grayish tones... Overall a good looking tile. Nothing too light and nothing too dark. Received my pallet and drove home. unloaded my pallet at home and finally got to unwrapping... And to my surprise, after unwrapping my package, every tile looks purple??? says walnut on side of package, yet nothing like the photo.No even close!!! I am very disappointed with this purchase ... i feel so mislead

My rating is STRICTLY for the proper customer service I received, as I didn't look around and went straight to the office.

I'm looking for something that (possibly) doesn't exist and was offered assistance by a 50-something year old gentleman with glasses and a moustache. He was helpful, made suggestions of other places--he actually wanted to help. He even offered to find a phone number, but I said I could do that.

This place was recommended by a stranger whom was also having difficulty finding what she needed. She spoke to Jimmy and said he was very nice and helpful. I didn't get the name of the gentleman who helped me, but he didn't look like a Jimmy.

If you are looking for Roofing this is the place. Tons of options on display and a very friendly staff.

I'm not a roofer though so when Im in the area I have to come here sometimes for Masonry Supplies. This is where this place kinda falls off compared to other building material yards.

The bulk price on sand is way overpriced compared to the competition. Even some of the other materials for masonry are priced higher.

Its hard when you are in the area and need materials. Sometimes the price is so much higher I have to opt to just have it delivered from another yard farther away than haul it myself.

I cant knock them too much for that because they dont specialize in Masonry. They do specialize in roofing and I can tell you that they do that better than any place ive been to before.

So if you need to pick our some roofing this is the go to place. If you need masonry/building materials check out another yard.

Beware of a 10% handling charge for any returns! If we could have purchased our decking material any other place in Orange county we would have. Not knowing the amount we needed, we ask one of their sales people and gave them the measurements. We had way too much and had to return 20% of the material which added up to over $300. It was bad enough we had to drive 1/2 hour to Long Beach, we got charged a $34.27 handling fee. I would have been happy to put the 7 cans back on the shelf. There should be a big sign over the cash register (not in fine print on the back of the receipt) to make customers aware of a 10% handling fee.

I'm in the initial stages of looking into a new roof for my house. I drove an hour to look at material options and it was well worth it. Their show room is superb in that they have large sections of varies materials on display to give you a better idea of how it looks. Chris listened closely, was very helpful & enthusiastic. That in itself was refreshing.
Lets see where it goes from here.

I stopped by South Coast Shingle a few days ago to ask for help in identifying the shingles in a photo. Brandon not only helped by showing me some displays and samples they had there, but he researched addresses for me, then emailed a list to me so I could see them in person. I'm not sure I will end up being a customer of South Coast Shingle (bc I'm not sure where our roofer will buy his shingles), but I appreciate the great customer service I rec'd there.
