Since 1926, our mission has been to deliver the finest interior and exterior paints, waterproofing solutions for roofs, driveway coatings, and additional products to Miami.
Somay (Southern Manufacturers Agency) was founded in the 1920s by Sy Greene and his wife Myrlte, who initially supplied raw materials to professional painters for their custom paint mixes.

In the aftermath of the 1926 Hurricane that impacted Miami, local authorities requested the Greenes' expertise to produce a solution for leaky roofs that could be sourced locally.
Thus, the Greenes created a product to meet the need, and Somay transitioned into a paint and coatings manufacturer.
