Do NOT hire PetersenDean for roofing or solar.
My wife & I signed our agreement in the first week of February 2019 and were told approx 120 days. Still no solar as of 9/23/19.

Of course, they have been paid the vast majority of the contract since May 5th. That is 4 1/2 months ago and I'm making payments on nothing! I feel ripped off!

I have a very good paper trail to share with anyone who asks. The paper trail shows endless promises broken and timelines are never met.

PetersenDean is not a reputable company.

A freaking nightmare from day one. Salesman did not understand roofing and solar packages. Told lots of lies that cost me over $7000.00 in extras.
The installers did not cover anything and did not clean up everyday like promised. My wife and i spent 4 hours cleaning up the mess they left. Only after complaining did they send over a cleaning crew which did not do a good job, let alone an okay clean job. i am still finding metal pieces and roofing material on my yard. Was told it would take 3 days it took 7 days to complete my small roof. The contract did not have the same prices as i originally agreed to. I am very scared on how my solar will go as they are still not installed yet. And the shingles have not saved me any money as my electric bill has gone up 2 straight months in a row.
i would not recommend Peterson Dean for any roofing work needed. please research your contractor before making an expensive decision. Orifinal cost was $20,000.00 finished price is $27650.00 but my solar is not installed yet so who knows final cost.
GO WITH ANYBODY ELSE.

It took 5 months to complete my solar project and always had to be the one to call and see how things were progressing. This install took way too long in my opinion but at least in is now in and working.

Chatted with them last week, they said they would email me a copy of the chat transcript because I wanted the documentation...the link didn't work. I asked them to call me between certain hours...they didn't call. Because I'm a nice guy, I decided to give them a second chance considering how busy it must be with the heat going on. I chatted with the same person again and told him about my prior experience, he said they would call me again...let's see what happens and then I will post another review.

This company has been awful. We had them do our roof in the Tahoe area. It took months after they committed to the job to get it done. Then after 18 months the roof began to fall out. We have been trying to get them to come back and fix and 3+ weeks later little to no response.

First class service!!! Purchased a new home with a PetersenDean installed roof and couldn't be happier with the service. Had a few cracked tiles after a solar estimator had been on the roof and PetersenDean came out, repaired the cracked tiles, and even left me a few extra for the future. Mike and Rick, the team that came out, were professional and made sure the repair was done right. Thank you guys!

Pretty terrible service. I called to schedule a quote but was told I would get a call from another department because I have a commercial property. It took a few weeks to connect with the rep because that's how long it takes him to return voicemails if I miss his call. After he told me that Petersen Dean can also assist with a roof repair quote and I expressed interest in a quote, I never heard from him again.

After reaching upper level staff and describing the work requested, an employee of PetersenDean came over and provided an estimate. There was another delay in getting the work completed but again making contact with upper level staff a crew finally came out and installed a bird net on my solar panels. Although it did take many phone calls once upper level staff got involved it seemed action was taken to get work done.

Had a monitoring appointment yesterday and Tyler came out. He was very knowledgeable of the solar equipment and was able to answer my questions.

The only reason I am giving 3 instead of 1.5 or 2 is because of my sales rep. Ed was awesome, John the inspector and the foremen of the solar workers and the worker for my roof and solar These guys all helped to solve all the issues listed below:
1) I ordered my roof and solar in February and was told everything would be finished by the beginning of summer, It was not turned on until August 8 of this year.
2) There was a change from the Fremont office to the Fresno office because Fremont was to busy. I was not notified about this change. This process prolonged the installation for my roof and solar.
3) Day off for the electrician to move my electrical box. The electrician moved my electrical box but took two months to come back to finish the patch work. This was done after I had painted my house. I had to sand it an paint the patch work.
4) The blue prints were not update to speciation for my backup battery. Took over Three months to update. The only place to put the back battery was in my garage. When the installers came out, I got a call from the foremen saying my electrical box was in the wrong place per the blue prints. I responded telling he would have to call the Fresno office to get an updated blue prints. Also, Petersen Dean did not know the city codes for San Jose. Another day off. There was supposed to be bracket in one of the electrical boxes to hold the AC-Furnace breakers. The office could not decide if there was supposed to a bracket. Finally I said I would go and buy the bracket. The office finally to the John the inspector to go and pick up the bracket, installed before the city inspector came over. They installed the breakers for the back up battery. They put in 600 AC and 200 DC. The city inspector was nice & said it was between Petersen Dean and me to fix the problem. I was told by the city inspector to take a picture and send to the John the inspector, John would send the pictures to the city inspector. When the came out to replace the box and the breakers, the office sent the same one that was installed. I told Victor to tell them to send the right box and breaker, Victor the installer would not install. Victor called the office and it took 2 hours for the right box and breakers to be delivered. Another day off I had to take.
5) Another day off. They also did not put in the right censors to read from the electrical to the solar. They had to rewire my electrical box to put in the correct censors. Finally got the solar up, but could not view it on my cell phone. No Wi-Fi service, so once again Petersen Dean had to come out to put in an antenna outside and a antenna to be hooked up to my Wi-Fi cable box. During this whole process the communication for the worker & myself from the office was very unacceptable. I was not properly notified when the inspections were going to be done. I just think the process should have done differently since I paid cash to have this done.
