Peterson and Dean reroofed my house 10 months ago with a 30 year warranty. The roof tiles on several areas of my house are tenting up. As peterson and dean is going through bankruptcy, no one picks up the phone. I need them to repair the roof that they just installed and no one will help from their company. There has been nothing but problems with this company. Quotes were wrong. Amount owed was incorrect. Craftsmanship is apparently crap. Warranty is worthless as no one will come out to repair their shawty work. Could not be more disappointed in a company. Absolute garbage, stay away!!!!

I guess I feel lucky that PetersonDean only screwed me out of $1400. Like others they completed my job out before it was actually finished. So I was getting billed before my system was even installed. After the install was completed minus the pigeon proofing that I payed $1400 for. It sat for months waiting to get the authorization to operate from my power company. I already had some existing solar so I did not need a net meter install. After three months I found out that the power company was waiting on PetersonDean to submit some missing forms. So here is the best part. Got authorization to operate, I called PetersonDean to turn my system up and they told me they have the customers turn on the system and to watch it on YouTube. Luckily I am an Electrical Engineer so that was easy but I know how difficult it could be for someone who is not as mechanically inclined. Before my system got turned up I kept reaching out to find out where is my bird proofing. They kept telling me they needed to get a different contractor to do that. So then the virus hit. Now Bankruptcy. So i am out $1400. I should of trusted my gut with this company but they got me with the low interest rate.

Oh my, where to start. I contracted with Petersen Dean Solar for America back in late May early June of 2019 to get the tax credits California was offering. Everything started off fine. Sales team was competent and fast. They said they could get most likely get system installed before end of year to beat expiration of tax credits but it depended on time to pull permit and design. Design was somewhat fast as was the permit pulling, but hey no scheduling. year ends still no scheduling, I am hounding my project manager constantly with no change. Finally in late February I get a date from my project manager which happened to be the Monday before the lockdown due to coronavirus started I believe March 12 or 13th. no one shows up. I call, I email nothing. Tuesday is the lockdown I get an email saying company is locked down and not doing installs. About 2 weeks later I get an email from lead sales rep apologizing about the mishap but that my project manager had a bigger work load then everyone else and must of forgot to turn over the date she gave me in the installation department. It is June 14th well over a year since I contracted this company. I am ignored by email and have only recently gotten my installation prioritized(supposedly) by calling. I still have no system. I understand the lockdown caused all companies problems but I should of had a system done 6 months ago well before the lockdown. Said company is not competent overall. I would stay away. They will not abide by what they tell you they can do.

Worst company I have ever dealt with.

Signed a contract for solar over 8 months ago, were told system would take no longer than 3 months to install. Large deposit was put down over $20,000. no responses from business when asking for updates, timing etc. Will be filing complaints on the better Business Bureau, disputing charges on credit card and possibly taking legal action to get our money back or this job somehow completed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Unfortunately there seems to be misleading information provided by PetersenDean. Stating ""installations done on time"" is misleading and false. I signed a contract in December for solar installation which stated installation ""approximately on March 5,"" I was promised installation much earlier than that. I have contacted whoever possible and my original install date was in February which was abruptly changed without a new date. I no longer trust PetersenDean to perform the install or to service the panels after install as they have proven they are not reliable. The mere fact that not one person has contacted me back after calling multiple times for months is discerning. Boasting about being the best and being on-time is false advertisement and misleading to those that go into contract with PetersenDean. After using PetersenDean once before at another home, there seems to be a downfall of the company as this treatment and irresponsibility was not present before.

P&D installed a cedarlite tile roof about 5 years ago . This past January there was a leak in the master bedroom. I called P&D to to inspect and repair the leak. Carol scheduled the repair. Workers came out removed the tiles from the affected, took pictures and made a temporary repair. The workers never returned to the compete the repairs. I called Carol at P&D to get an update on the repairs. Carol told me that new tiles were needed to complete the repairs and she was looking for a source. A few days later I went to a former manufacture in Gilroy Ca. They gave me two suppliers in San Jose Ca. I emailed Carol with information. Since January I have emailed Carol and called numerous times. The times I called I had to leave a message on Carols phone, no call back. This month, September, someone answered so I told them why I was calling with the background information and said Carol was at lunch and would return my call. Carol has never returned my call. My next step is to see Jim Petersen.

I have since taken down my review since P&D fixed my roof leak and replaced broken tiles. I called today, 3/16/20 to report a leak in my master bedroom bathroom. The girl that took my call gave a claim #468776 and a person, Ramiro to call. Mr Ramiro could not find my records of the repairs on my roof. My next step is to call Jim Peterson.

I am a Licensed General Contractor and a Project Superintendent for one of the larger well known Construction Company's in the Bay Area. I have over 40 years in the industry and 24 years with my current company.

I had a representative from PetersenDean provide a roofing estimate for a complete removal and re-roof of my home.
I had 7 other estimates as well.
Having an educated rough idea what the project should cost, I was SHOCKED at the price PetersenDean quoted. I asked for a breakdown to verify/justify costs. Never heard back from them.

Their quote for a 3000 sq. ft. roof in composition shakes was $49k.
Other competing quotes didn't exceed $36k.

I awarded a contract to another company at just under $25k, which was in the ballpark of where I expected the estimates to come in.

So, CHECK THE MATH! Vet your contractors and estimates very closely.

The company that installed my roof, did so quickly, efficiently, politely, left no mess around the property and were very professional and courteous. The new roof looks Great and I didn't pay PetersenDeans's HIGHLY inflated price!
