David T.We went with Peterson Dean because we wanted a well known and established company to minimize the B.S. that I've heard about other companies. That isn't what we got. Project was over 5 months behind schedule over an error in their permit department about a carport in my driveway. During this delaytime I received a couple emails that due to the delay they wanted to cancel our contract. After I went to my county offices and found out that the carport had no bearing on my solor project and had them contact PetersonDean ,they finally got to work. You would figure that once it was pointed out that this was the company's error you would feel a sense of urgency in completing the project but again not the case. Now that the system is up and running it seems to be way under performing, but it didn't come online until the middle of December when the rains started so we'll see. One final point is that with the delays caused by their permit department even with several comments to my salesman and project manager, I have not heard anything from management.
Having been advised by other solar contractors whom we had consulted, that we needed reroofing prior to solar install, we chose PetersenDean because their commercial appeared to represent that they had the resources to do both. We checked Yelp where among the limited posts we found one from a gentleman who said that he'd originally posted a negative review. PetersenDean had responded that they had been unaware of the problem(s), made correction(s), and now all was good.
Email, phone and written records demonstrate that between first contact in March 2018 and the solar system finally becoming operational in October 2018 we experienced seven months of delays, no shows and lack of communication (except of course when payments were due by us). We repeatedly brought problems to their attention, providing video and photos of our concerns, without acceptable response, follow through, or correction. We have not had a response to the three summertime power bills in excess of seven hundred dollars each, submitted to PetersenDean upon their request, for consideration of prorating. We demonstrated good faith providing all documents, roofing and solar payments of over Fifty-Seven Thousand dollars ($57, 078) in a timely manner and payed the first loan installment of $536, with not a solar panel on the roof, and the next power bill accruing.
Additionally, the roofing supervisor took our permit documents. We have made multiple requests for their return.
Time and weather will tell of the roofing application. We have received the lower power bill which was the end goal of the whole process.
My husband and I own two businesses, and I work nights medical. We count on the people we contract to provide the value, customer service, and craftsmanship that we provide to our clients, in a timely manner. We understand that there can be setbacks at times. This does not account for seven months of delays and lack of communication we experienced.

We decided to go with Petersen Dean Solar system in August and went active online yesterday. They have been very easy to work with all along the way thanks to our service representative, Kirk Gallinkamp. From planning the right system for us, working out the financing, the installation and the permit process, Petersen Dean has lived up to their 5 star reputation.
I would give Petersen Dean a six star rating if I could. I just had a solar system with backup battery installed at my house by Petersen Dean and the process could not have been easier. From my first contact with PD through sales associate Kirk Gallenkamp through my assigned facilitators, Irene Hernandez and Melissa Kaye, I experienced competent, professional and friendly people who were motivated to get me online as soon as possible. I am grateful for their help and would heartily recommend them and their company, Petersen Dean Solar 4 America to all.
The representative was very knowledgeable and efficient. He gave us a projected installation date but they called before then and arranged the installation. The work took one day and people that have seen it are very impressed with the quality of work. We are very glad we went with Petesen Dean.
Here I am again, I have gotten tired of paying 2,000 dollars for true up bill every year since I got this underperfroming system, so I decided to get quotes on adding more panels to my system. Imagine my surprise when reviewing my electrical box they find my panel box under amped. When I explain I paid 3,000 dollars for petersen and dean to upgrade my panel box for solar, they went from 100 to 125 ampage. Way under what I need, but trusting idiot that I am, I signed for upgrade, without it being specifically written out, trusting it would be above and beyond what was needed, it wasn't. I'm not an electrician so there is that TRUST issue again.
I've sat here with 2 other companies who are sadly shaking their heads at how much I was charged and how little was upgraded, would truly hope there are professional standards for Electricians as to what reasonable charges for the same work would be, guess not. And I just went with them instead of being smart and getting quotes from other electricians to upgrade my electrical box.
Please please DO NOT trust this company, I'm sickened again at how much I have paid for an underpowered system for my normal usage and now this. Any other panels (or any added electrical load) I will need to pay an honest electrician/company to do the work, for something that should have been done correct the first time.
Don't live with regrets, don't go with this company,
Steve K.I should note that PetersenDean staff contacted me just after posting the original review and was diligent is identifying my complaint and discussing remedies. I was impressed that the staff seemed genuinely concerned about my happiness with the purchase and sincerely tried to make me a happy customer.
They succeeded. I'm pleased with the product and, more importantly, they company and their support staff. Great job.
Michael G.As of 01/08/2018, Petersen Dean has corrected the problem, and the Enphase is reporting. Now I can tell how much Solar is being produced, and the system is operating normal. Thank You, Petersen Dean Team.
Had Peterson Dean do an estimate on new roof only for my daughter's 1300 sq ft house. Their estimate was $9000 higher than any of the other 4 estimates. $18000+ for roof only No Solar. Very disappointed since they advertise constantly about their roofing experience. We went with another high rated company.
Kirk C.I have been very Impressed with PetersenDean company for my new solar system. I was referred by a friend to talk to Kirk Gallenkamp about moving to solar. Kirk was very professional and polite. The whole process has worked out exactly as he promised. My project manager was Brittany Stone who was also very professional and helpful. She walked me thru the process perfectly. The most pleasant surprise was the installation crew. I am VP of Operations for a beverage distributor responsible for over 120 employees and understand how hard it is to make sure we maintain a positive professional experience for our customers. These guys hit it out of the park( I am currently trying to find there secret). special thanks to the installation crew.
