Recommended Customer Reviews

As a contractor myself I understand orchestration and execution... well done! We are most pleased with the system but truly most impressed in the excellence exhibited in well planned seamless teamwork... throughout the process. Everyone involved from the beginning listened, answered, reliably followed through and always did so with enthusiasm. From Scott Gage to Sophie Barrett and all onsite and behind the scenes... Thank you! You have earned our admiration.

Stop and read this!
I was one of many who got that PGE letter in December 2016. After reading it, I knew that I had to do something to stop throwing my money away on power bills.. I have been living in my house for almost 17 years and every year my power bill got bigger. The power bill was now a big issue for my family, it was taking away vacation money, dining out money and more important my peace of mind.
I started checking out Solar companies, I called and asked questions and had some come to my house and give me a quote. The biggest thing i did was learn what I needed from the company I would choose. Many Solar companies said how good they where, many told me they have the best price and service after the system was installed. BUT, when I read the reviews from customers about the companies I was considering, I was shocked to read all of the issues that where common with most Solar companies.
1) They used subcontractors, so after the system was up and running and their was a problem, they found out that the subcontractor was out of business. Peterson Dean does NOT use subcontractors.
2) No communication, didn't know what was happening, no phone call to set up inspections, no solid time frames during the process. Peterson Dean gave me a project coordinator to talk with and I had a customer portal on line so I could track my progress.
3) Warranty, many said they had warranty's, many didn't cover labor after just a year or two, many didn't cover roof leaks after the install. But the big one was no solid guarantee that the system will produce what they said it would. Peterson Dean has a great ROCK solid Warranty, Parts and Labor, and a no leak guarantee where they install the system.
I'm going to save you a lot of time and just tell you Peterson Dean has the BEST Service, People, Warranty, and product for your hard earned money. I did my Homework and it paid off.
I knew exactly what was happening from the Time I made my appointment with Kirk Gallenkamp to the time I got the email from PGE to turn my system on.
No surprises, no hassles, no problems. I'm a very satisfied customer, if want to have a great experience call Kirk Gallenkamp at Peterson Dean.

I am considering solar, I met with the rep we talked about what I was looking for, had mentioned that I already met with 2 other comps and looking for the best price, he said they would match and beat the competitor, 30 mins later he tells me the price and they are higher than the competitors, ask him him if he can do better and says ""NO"" what i didn't understand is why waste my time and tell me you can match or beat the competitor. This is a tough business and seems like all solar companies talk trash about each other and the consumer just gets drawn into this battle.....still looking for solar in Fresno area any recommendations will really HELP.

Final update: I deleted all my other updates. We are now waiting for the permission to operate from PG&E. Application was submitted yesterday. Despite small issues here and there everything was amazing. Everyone I dealt with was amazing and I highly recommend PetesenDean for your roofing and solar needs. No regrets at all choosing this company

From start to finish, sales rep Alex Darr and the Petersen Dean team made our solar installation swift, painless, economical and productive. At the beginning, Alex presented a custom option tailored to our needs (plus a couple of others, for comparison). When obstacles arose (because our house had no permit on record), communication was clear and solutions prompt. The install itself proceeded on time and without a hitch. Ultimately, our electric bill is ZERO, the process was speedy, the value to us - as we faced a summer of AC - extraordinary. The tax credit means we got a nice refund, not a normal occurrence for us.
We are solar ""veterans"" of a sort, as this is our second home where we have installed over 10,000 watt systems. Compared to our first installation in 2008, Petersen Dean was faster, clearer and cheaper, with a higher quality system generating more consistent wattage.

I went with Petersen Dean Solar because they were the lowest price, installation went great.
I would have been happy if I never tried to send three of my friends to them, the salesman
never returned my voicemail.
Now two years later I purchased a new home, I wanted to move my unit to the new house
I had to call Customer service twice before a rep called me back, he told me all the reasons
I shouldn't move it. Told me the inverter they sold me no longer would meet code.
Finally he says it would probably be cheaper to buy a new system, apparently they sold me a
system that is worthless with in 22 months. As I persist he tells me his boss will have to call me.
When he does call I have to hear all the reasons not to move it and how it won't meet code,
I tell him I still want a quote and haven't heard from them since.

We had our solar system installed last year (2015) and I was hesitant to post anything about Petersen Dean or the staff. I'm the type of person who likes to wait and see what will transpire once the service is up and running and if any hiccups appear and how well there staff handle the situations. Here we are in June of 2016 and I would like to thank Alex Darr for his professionalism and ability to take care of his customers. He returns phone calls at the earliest convenience possible and makes sure to answer your question or concerns. As for Petersen Dean the product, I can also say they have a great product and back there equipment up to any on the market. Not only are the prices competitive but the staff are honest and sell what they have not what you want to hear. I have read some reviews and I'm glad to hear honest reviews. Its not perfect, but I'd like to hear James get his product resolved, because its not how well the staff sell the product but how well you take care of your customers once its up and running.

I have never considered signing up for, let alone posting a review on Yelp. But, because of my experience with Petersen Dean I felt compelled to do so.
Wow! What can I say.
STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY!
Nice people, terrible product. My solar system is ALWAYS down. I'm on my 6th or 7th service and on my 3rd inverter. System went down again today with the same chronic problem.
All of this since installation in Sept. '15.
It's to a point that I'm asking for a full refund so I can hire a solar provider that sells a product that actually works.

The wife and I met with Alex and had a no pressure sales experience. We are going forward with the purchase of our first system.

My husband and I are sad to be back here placing a one star review update. My last update had me upbeat and hopeful as I had received a phone call from Chad, from what I understood, someone who would really help to followup and complete the project, well im sorry to say, not so. Chad had Kevin come out and inspect once again the area where the leak originated to see if indeed they were responsible. He had a gentleman with him who is apparently responsible for inspection of a clients roof to see if it can handle a solor system. They went into the attic along with my husband checking the area where Kevin had fixed the leak months before. Amazingly it happened to be raining that day which was in our favor and a great testament to Kevins ability to hunt down and fix a leak (Kudos for Kevin). When this inspector could not find any areas that had even a hint of being damp, They came down and went outside to inspect and he said that looking at the wet pattern left on the wall and overhang, the roof was buillt incorrectly to begin with and that that was the cause of the original leak. In other words, he was still trying to skirt out of paying for putting my masterbath back to its original state. I was floored. I asked him why would he put his stamp of approval or his ok to begin to install their solor panals if the roof was incorrect.......no answer given. When we asked why we havent had any problems since Kevin fixed the leak.......no answer given. Kevin told us he would write a report to Chad and we would hear from him for the next step. After they both left, my husband told me that he was fearful that the inspector may have created a new leak in his aggresive inspection. I asked him what he meant. He said he was so frantic when he was up in the attic looking for any kind of wet spot. He just would not accept the fact that in the pouring rain, the attic was bone dry and that he was digging up the insulation all the way down to the tile paper and ripping that up and damamging that. My husband really was afraid he caused damage in his frustration. That was in early November. November 10, 2015, We get the ok from Chad to hire a painting contractor to paint and repair all sheetrock and replace all custom blinds and forward the paid invoices to PedersonDean for reimbursement. We shopped for a painting contractor and had that taken care. We have since forwarded a copy of this paid invoice to PedersonDean, but we have not received reimbursment. Our next step was to shop for the blinds but Thanksgiving was upon us and we were hosting .Well.....the weekend of the holiday it rained, at times pretty hard and we discovered.......a leak. We called PedersonDean once again, 5 times. Finally after some not so friendly messages were left, Kevin and the inspector returned and again its raining when they get here. The conclussion they come to ONCE AGAIN is........
.well the roof wasnt built correctly. My husband and I had to stand there baffled listening to a whole host of reasons once again as to why its not their doing. They said they would write a report and get back with us. They didnt tarp the area to prevent further damage. NOTHING was done to prevent further damage. We called over and over again through December as the rain came and went. Finally in January the damages were to the point that the window frame surrounding the jetted tub was showing serious damage and the sheetrock surrounding and holding/framing the window in (very large garden window) is putty soft and the windowframe itself is coming apart. The grout is completely washed away. Kevin and and the inspector have returned once to view the damage and my husband has taken a video and many pictures in the attic. Kevin has done the same and his response is still the same......they will write a report. Again, no attemp to protect the area from further damage as the rain has poured and poured this weekend. I am heartsick. They dont seem to care. I really dont want to hear all the reasons why it isnt their fault. The professional way to handle this. The kind way and respectable way to handle this is to tell us. Mr and Mrs Miller, yes you have a 10 year warranty on your roof because you have choosen PedersenDean for your solar needs. And because of this......we will do everything it takes to make this right and return your house to the condition it was in prior to us ever stepping foot onto your property. IS THIS TO MUCH TO ASK? At this point we may have no other choice but to take our contract and seek legal advice along with filing a complaint with the BBB, Better Business Bureau.
