Solar Negotiators
Company Overview
What makes Solar Negotiators distinct is our all-inclusive service. We provide reliable maintenance, repair, and monitoring services, whether we install the system or another contractor does, to help solar customers manage their energy bills.
We excel at keeping solar customers satisfied over the long haul with our “post-installation” services. We also provide enhancements during or after the installation process, like energy-efficient products including roofing, insulation, EV chargers, batteries, windows, and others.
Established in 2009, Solar Negotiators started as an honest venture to educate consumers on solar systems in California. That small enterprise has grown into the largest residential installer and top-rated solar company in the Central Valley. Our goal is to reflect professionalism and competence at all levels to provide an exceptional solar experience.
Born and raised in the Central San Joaquin Valley, Chris Moran started his career in the solar sector more than six years ago. His work with established local electrical contractors and industry-leading manufacturers focused on educating valley residents about the benefits of PV solar systems.
Solar Negotiators proudly operates as a veteran-owned business. Chris, a veteran of the US Marine Corps, served six years and was deployed to Iraq in 2007, operating large fuel trucks in convoys and at forward refueling points. In 2009, he started a small company in his garage to provide consumers with accurate information about solar systems in California. That initial venture has evolved into what is now Solar Negotiators Inc.
Chris has always sought to exemplify professionalism and skill at every level to guarantee the best solar experience possible. He remarks, ""I wish to thank our clients, my family, and our team here at Solar Negotiators for their continued support of this company and its vision.""

Just like to say solar negotiators don't have safe drivers, I just got home from a walk with my two year old daughter in a stroller, before I even got to the side walk a solar negotiators truck decided to go I could reach the car with my hand if I tried I was honestly in shock since I visibly had a stroller, I'm no Karen but in this situation I was definitely upset. Staff should not be driving like this and representing your company at the same time...
K B.Zero integrity, shoddy work, take no responsibility, and expect to never get a return phone call. We bought solar in 2020, Our house was built in 2018 and everything was brand new. Purchasing from Solar Negotiators was easy, as soon as they got our money, that ended. We paid for a critter guard, it was not installed with the panels, they kept scheduling appointments and they would cancel them due to not having anybody available to install it, after many months we ended up getting refunded. With rain, came the discovery of EIGHT leaks inside of our house. Leaks so bad that the ceiling was crumbling. We had to clean out the entire room. We called solar negotiators immediately and were told we would get a call back. We had to call back three more times before anybody ever called us back, only to be told out of the four phone calls we made were never forwarded to proper people/department (however true that may be). once upon inspecting the roof they determined that the pigeons have damaged our roof and tiles, because we didn't get critter guard. After a second inspection, they discovered that during installation many holes were drilled into our roof looking for studs, and those holes were not fixed. After the work was done to fix the holes, we were told that they think they fixed everything but there was no way to really know until we got another heavy rain. They also needed to fix our ceiling in the bedroom, and we had to wait about a month to get that done. That also took many phone calls. Since they initially blamed it on the pigeons, we called back to get critter guard, we have to use them or void warranties. I was quoted double the price from before. After arguing about it, they finally decided to lower the price, and a month later somebody came out to install the critter guard and allegedly cleaned up all the pigeon poop, which I paid them to do. Two weeks later I noticed that pigeons were getting under our solar panels. I called the company and was told I would get a call back. I had to call back two more times before I finally got a return call to set up an appointment. Once they came out, it was discovered that the critter guard wasn't secured. With the next rains once again our roof is leaking, in the same places as before. Four leaks this time, not nearly as severe, but still leaking, I had to call multiple times before I got somebody to return my calls and eventually schedule an appointment to come look at our roof. Shortly before the roof started leaking again I noticed that the repair on the ceiling in the bedroom was cracking and coming apart. I happened to notice that I had a solar panel that was not working, which the monitoring I was sold on should have caught and reported. When they showed up to inspect our roof, I was told that they couldn't find any problems and that it must be the pigeon poop again, which is built up under our panels. I was showed pictures and I questioned, why there would be so much poop under the panels after barely one year, and with critter guard and bird spikes. The guy said it looked like the pigeon poop was never cleaned out when the critter guard was installed. I paid for the service to have all the poop cleared from our roof when installation occurred. He said for $200 he would clean it all up and that should fix the leaks. I asked about ripped tar paper (from the pictures), and he said that even if tar paper is ripped, (they didn't repair it) that as long as the tiles are not broken and in place there shouldn't be any leaking. Obviously, there IS a problem because I still have leaks in the same spots as before. Wanting to charge me for something that should have been done in the first place, The guy told me I'd have to call and speak to his supervisor. I received a call back, he was rude and argumentative, told me he'd have to find the pictures to prove that they cleaned up the pigeon poop, and then he'd get back to me. The following week he called back and said they would be out to clean under my panels without the charge. Five weeks later I was sent a bill for $200. Two weeks after they came out to clean the poop, they showed up unexpectedly to do a panel cleaning, and after the cleaning was done I was called and told that I had a buildup of pigeon poop in my rain gutters, and that they would charge $200 to clean them out for me. I believe they had cleaned the poop off my roof into the gutters and should have made sure that was clean as well. I was told that the inverter went out and needed to be replaced and that they ordered the part, but it would take 90 days to receive it. They could have called to tell me that, but they didn't. I asked if it would be covered under warranty, and she couldn't tell me, said that it should, but there's no guarantee. After the replacement, the panel still isn't working. I've been calling for over 3 months now. Still have a broken panel, still have a ceiling crumbling, most likely a leaking roof. No return phone calls.
Sheri S.I have been pleasantly surprised by the continuous excellent customer service from Solar Negotiators. I recently received a phone call from Jennifer regarding my Wi-Fi connection. Jennifer was pleasant, professional and truly concerned with the problem. I was not expecting this level of service when I bought this system 1 year ago. I am elated at the continuous service by this wonderful company. Service after the sale is important. Solar Negotiators truly cares about their costumers. If you are on the fence as to which company to go with, I strongly recommend going with Solar Negotiators.
Was visited by someone who's initials will be T.P. who claims he works for Solar Negotiators. He chose to completely ignore the 18""x24"" no trespassing sign posted directly above my doorbell. After I asked him who he worked for it took some work because he sounded like an independent contractor. After nailing down that he works for this company (and one other) I notified him that I will be contacting them regarding people who represent them have zero respect for private property. Then he started laughing at me. That is not a way to win over customers. I will be calling Solar Negotiators in the morning to let them know the specifics. As a 20 year military veteran I find this insulting and not acceptable.
Called to set up an appointment to possibly get solar. Wouldn't even work with me on scheduling an appointment. Employee hung up on me. Rude. I was even referred by a friend.
Update: after recent rain storms, turns out there are still leaks, the ceiling repair from last time is tearing, and now I am gonna spend another month to get them to come out and ""fix"" it again. They are charging $198 to come check to see if it is their fault, was a brand new house that was inspected, no inspector ever checked their shoddy work. Wish I never got solar, especially from this company.
Also they claimed they would have people monitoring the panels and production, just discovered a panel hasn't been working for 3 months, some monitoring. The people to fix the panel are apparently not the same that fix leaks and not same to repair ceiling.
Was a little more costly system so I thought the level of service after the sale would save any hassels....boy was I wrong. Once the year end true up came....big surprise. System did not report the same amount as the production so big true up bill even thought their software said otherwise. I have been bounced through several people that have no explanation of what is wrong with the software and reporting production to SCE.... they do not return calls, try to get someone to help is not possible. I should have went with a cheaper company with the same terrible after sales service and saved my up front money since I thought they had reputable after sales support. Go cheaper with one of the other flakey solar companies. Solar negotiators after sales service level puts them in the same category at a higher up front price cost.
Mark M.We've had a fantastic experience with Solar Negotiators. Their representative, David, was thorough in explaining their product, without placing any pressure on us. He helped us decide on our needs, wants, and the best way to finance. He was knowledgeable and friendly. The entire staff who helped us AFTER David have been phenomenal. They have given us updates and follow ups and told us what to expect every step of the way. We totally recommend Solar Negotiators.
Christine A.I tried to get a quote from this company. I scheduled an appointment online, and at the time of the appointment no one showed up and no one called. When I tried to reach them I was told they canceled the appointment because I wrote ""Stop"" on what I thought was a spam text. They never tried to call me. The kid I was talking to couldn't care less that they missed the appointment, no apologies. I asked to talk to a manager, none were available. I asked for a call from one, got a voicemail a few hours later, still no apology. I tried calling that person back, not available.
Someone did call me the next morning and I just returned the call. No apologies and apparently they don't need my business. Zero professionalism. I can only assume this will carry over to the quality of work they provide. Why should anyone have to work this hard just for a quote?
Im going with a different company that is professional and actually cares about its customers.
Matt C.Here we go again, let me start from the beginning five years ago they put solar at my house they promised to have it installed before the end of year for the tax credit I ordered in October, they missed their installation and didn't get it installed to the end of March. In the meantime they dug up my electric gates ruined them, ( which the electrical was marked) they tried to fix them themselves but my gates still don't work properly 5 year later.
They told me a sub contractor did the install. When I tried to call the sub contractor , they disappeared. Then they told me they were going to come out for my monitoring and had to replace a Wi-Fi chip back in February, then they said March then they said April, then they said don't worry it'll happen before your wifi stops and you cannot monitor. then shipping delays, then shortages, then May then June and July and I can't monitor my system, they came out three or four weeks ago to put the new chip in and it doesn't work. Oh it's due to the times, or because of shortages, no it's the same way they did business five years ago. The one thing I asked was don't mess up my solar production reporting, and I just got my PG&E bill and it appears my solar is not reporting to PG&E yet I've called a variety of numbers , when I googled them, many numbers didn't work, numbers that don't dial and then when I got a hold of somebody, finally , I don't know what this person does but they could hardly speak and certainly could not fix any issues or even know what to do with a problem. I hate writing bad reviews for a company but this is just a joke, my whole $37000 purchase with them has just been a joke and now l believe my solar is not reporting to PG&E so now it's worthless. Seems they did something to my system when they were working on it tying to fix Wi-Fi monitoring. I paid for solar and now I get to pay for PG&E too , I suppose, I don't know since nobody there can help me. They only way I have been able to get a response is to write a review. What a sad waste of time. If I could do it again , I'd never get involved with this company in my life. I'm
