Buyer Beware

In January, I hired Michael, and agreed upon work to repair water damage leaks that appeared on the corners of my house rain gutters.

He recommended cleaning/removing leaves and debris out all the rain gutter-- which he did.
Also the roof, along where the rain water runs down into gutters.

He did as agreed too, I paid him in cash, he offered no receipt, I did not ask for one.
Yes, I know, as a senior citizen, I should have known better.

Here is my issue:
95% of the work completed except for the harden sealant that he used to seal leaks, didn't hold . It needed to be smoothed out and touched up to match up.

He said he will come back to finish it.. few days at most. Cool. It shouldn't take that long.

That was is January. It's now March!!
I Reached out repeatedly via text roughly every 10 days..
Each time ""I promise to be by to finish the job"" each time, no show.
Only excuses to get it done. My finally call was direct, last time mid February. No response, no show.

Always, ask and get a receipt, no matter how trustworthy one may appear.
Buyer beware, don't pay it until it is 100% complete.
I hate being lied to- just be honest and say you never intended to come back!

I'd start with ""buyer beware"". Mike from Sol Solar seems pleasant enough but this is what I had to endure this past week. I paid Mike $300 to mend my roof. He refused to give me an invoice/receipt of his work. He did not return the next day as planned to fix the broken tiles. He did not call nor communicate. After a week of me calling and texting, Mike finally returned. He gave me several excuses for not calling nor returning to complete the work. He further wanted to charge me another $100 without an invoice or receipt. At that time, I finally refused further service. However, I'm out $300 without a way to recover it from my homeowner's insurance. I plan to pursue this issue further with Yelp since Yelp referred Mike & Sol Solar

Mike responded very quickly to my service request and came over right away to provide me with a quote. He was able to complete my gutter cleaning job the next day (before the rain!). He found several cracked and displaced roof tiles which he repaired for me, and even cut some tree branches that were hanging over the roof. I'm very glad I chose his company, & would be happy to use his services again.

Mike got back to my quote request quickly and showed up same day. Cleaned my panels and gutters, as well as roof debris. Price was fair and I am satisfied!
