Ed L.We saw them at a home show in Las Cruces. We asked about doing some minor repair work on our roof. I emailed twice and called once and got no response. I even asked if they were too busy for such a small job to at least me know. Still no response.
Rick M.Very professional and very knowledgeable group of men that are very proud of what they do and it shows in the quality of their work.
They are on time, clean in their workmanship and hardworking.
We are very pleased with the work they did not only at my residence but at my rental house and I highly recommend them for your next roofing job.
You will NOT be disappointed.

I had an excellent experience with this company. Britany was very knowledgeable and helpful. I got my estimate done and they started work about a week and a half later. The guys working on my roof were very nice and knew what they were doing. My roof was completed in 3 days. Definitely very happy!
The roof they put on was fine. After numerous calls and emails they still have not replaced the gutters in the front of the house as promised.
Beware, all concerns of mine were dropped the moment the check cleared. After that, empty promises. Don't trust them to come back and finish things later, withhold payment.
Never returned calls. Lead us on for 6 months waiting for them to make repairs, ended up telling us that our roof wasn't worth their time. Please look for other businesses for your roof repair, or use these guys as a 3rd redundancy. Owner was supposed to return our calls on 3 different occasions and never did. The estimator and didn't return our calls we left messages at the front office on 5-6 times and did not return our mobile calls after leaving messages with them. Before they even looked at the roof they required us to sign a contract stating we wouldn't hire any other company and then never showed up to appointments for our estimate. For 6 months they stated they would come, stay in our budget, and finally they said that they couldn't get more money from the insurance company over 7k so it wasn't worth their time to help us.
My rep Vena came and told me this was work they could do and not to worry they'd handle everything. My insurance would only cover hail damage, repair for my flat roof, and shingle replacement. After 6 months she said she had to drop us because they couldn't get more money from the insurance.
I called the get an estimate for the repair of my roof. They called back and scheduled the inspection for 11/22/21, nobody needed to be at home. After I did not hear anything for a few days I called again to check in the status of the estimate. They took a message and somebody would call me back. Some response today 12/13/21.
What is more to say?
My experience with Smith & Ramirez Roofing was priceless. Everyone knows that having to deal with insurances and shady contractors is a bit scary. But Smith & Ramirez Roofing easily made me take my guard down as soon as the first appointment with their staff. Everyone is so friendly and professional. You get one on one contact with the owner who walks you through and explains exactly what is going to be happening. I was extremely satisfied with the results of my roof. I love to hear my neighbors compliment how nicely my roof turned out. I recommend Smith &
Ramirez to anyone who takes pride in their biggest investment, their HOME.
Michelle A.Smith and Ramirez did my roof in the spring. I am very pleased with the final result. They gave excellent service and I highly recommend them.
Torres L.Very good work. They work soo fast my roof was done in two days. I highly recommend these guys. Very friendly very helpful thank you chris
Horrible Experience!
*Did NOT pull a Building Permit!
*Put Roofing Felt over old Nails!
*Nails exposed after job completed... had to remove and replace over 30 shingles which did not lay down properly and are still sticking up.
*Roof Leaks!!
*Vented Ridge Cap blew off in a wind!
They looked us in the eye and told us they would replace our roof if they couldn't get the roof fixed to our satisfaction...but this was all talk...smoke and mirrors. One excuse after another. Been over 14 months now and we are still waiting.
They sent out an crew that was totally inexperienced to do our work. We had to stop work when we notice they were rolling out the roofing felt over the old shingle nails that were never removed. We are seniors and they thought we wouldn't notice. If we had not been home and watching the work we would have ended up with a leaking roof. Roofing 101 is to remove the old nails before installing the new roof. Why is that so hard?
Then even after them removing the new roofing felt and removing the nails..we still ended up with old nails under the new shingles. To top it off upon our inspection there were exposed nails so many that about 30 shingles had to be replaced. We were told this is why you have a 30 year warranty. But I asked them after my roof has leaked unnoticed for 20 years who is going to do the mold removal and fix the rotted wood. Code is to have all of the nails covered by the row above.
Speaking of code and Building Permits and Building Inspectors they did not pull a building permit. Say What? Every roofer pulls a building permit right? NOT Smith and Ramirez! They told me that an inspection wasn't necessary....said because of the recent hail storms that all they needed to do was to take photos of the roof. We thought they pulled a building permit but that they only didn't need to call the inspector out for the inspection but after the job was done and we had already had many issues we called the Dona Ana County Building Inspector and he said ""I am not showing a permit for your home"". Really? How does an experienced roofing company not pull a permit for a new roof when it is required on every job?
Finally they pulled a permit after the fact and the Building Inspector found issues and most have never been corrected. We insisted from the beginning that removing and replacing singles with exposed nails was not acceptable because of the shear number of of them. With each shingle they had to try and remove them without tearing the shingles around them...insisting that these tears were okay and not an issue.
Our roof is a simple ranch roof with no hips or valleys. How easy could it be to do a good job? Instead we bought the best Owens Corning dimensional shingles and got the worse workmanship that you can imagine. The vented ridge cap even blew off in a wind! They did come and fix that after two rains and numerous calls.
We asked to have the roof replaced. We have tried to work with them but all they do is keep putting us off and it has been over a year now. A complaint has been filed with the Better Business Bureau and as of this time it has been a week and no response from them. We even left a message and a text with Ty Smith, one of the owners, before filing our complaint and he never returned my call or text. Tells me that they are just not concerned with Customer Satisfaction. Why else would the owner not return the call when we tell the secretary that we are dissatisfied and wanted to talk to him? Doesn't care obliviously.
We do NOT recommend Smith and Ramirez. BEWARE!
