With all of the recent rain, we discovered a new leak in our roof. DJ Slaton came out right away to repair flashing that had pulled away from the stucco. During the repair, he also surveyed the rest of the roof, fixing minor areas that would have eventually become big problems over time. Now, we can weather future storms with peace of mind.

During the last big rainstorm, our roof sprung a leak. We called Doug, at Slaton & Son Roofing, the company who installed our roof 15 years ago, to inspect where the leak originated. It turns out that due to poor maintenance, on our part, there were some water dams building up in the valleys of our tile roof, and water was getting under the roofing tiles and then leaking into our home through the outer walls. Normally, when you call for help with anything these days, it takes multiple calls, along with scheduling sometimes weeks in advance to get help. Doug, at Slaton & Son, was able to come out the same day as we called him. Doug disassembled the questionable roof tiles, and cleaned the plugged valleys and put our roof back together. We are grateful for the prompt, honest, service that Slaton & Son provided us!

This was the third time I've used Slaton Roofing and always found them friendly, professional and very fair. With superb organization my job was done in a timely manner through rain and holidays. They kept me informed when workers would arrive, the work to be done and how long it would take. The property was always tidy at the end of each day. After seeing their quality of work after my first job I do not waste time getting bids because Slaton's have always done a job above and beyond the norm.

I am a renter and Slaton Roofing was doing the work for our property manager but I was here through the whole roof replacement (racoon problems!) and these guys are GOOD - they had to replace a lot of the boards and stuff (was probably a 40-year-old roof) and they made it ultra-sturdy. The best part was the cleanup EVERY day so I didn't have to track things indoors.

My cat didn't like it, though...

Doug Slaton, recommended by a local contractor, to do a roof inspection o/a Jan 29, 2015. At that time I paid him $125 to inspect just a portion of my roof to see if there were any leaks. He didn't find any. He was also going to do a preventive maintenance on a part of the roof near the drain. In addition, I asked him if he would clean out the 2nd story roof drains, and he agreed that he would do so and that he would contact me the following week. He never called me for weeks until today (Feb. 17, 2015) and only after I called his office last Friday and left a message. I told him that I was disappointed that he failed to follow up. A simple phone call would have been the thing to do. He never offered me an apology, and he made excuses that he got too busy. Well, I guess I was not important to him. If he didn't want to clean the drains, he could have easily called to tell me to find some other roofer Also, I asked for a receipt along with his inspection findings. He failed to do this too. The preventive maintenance job will not be done either. I attempted to explain to him about customer service. He thought that I was lecturing him, and so, he hung up the phone. This was very rude. I don't find him very reliable.

I called the contractor who recommended Slaton to inform him about what had happened. He appreciated my calling him to explain that Slaton was a huge disappointment. He would be more careful in recommending him again.
