This company is terrible!!!!! They came out to give us a quote and had us sign paperwork ""to get a roof inspection"" after briefly going over the paperwork ""our fault for not reading thoroughly"" Josh and his salesman ensured us it is not a hard inquiry and that we are not signing for anything at the moment...after reading reviews we canceled immediately !!! Within the 3 day window. However we received a notification that the loan is active .. we will be utilizing an attorney if needed. This company is crooked and very unprofessional!

Very rude and unprofessional tried to take my no soliciting sign off of my door and use vulgar language to my husband and then try to scratch our cars as he left but my husband followed him out and told him he was on camera

Ahhh where to start. Other than BEWARE. I had a gentleman come to my door and tell me some spiel about our neighbors having work done and they wanted to let us know there might be traffic. First lie.

Then started talking about solar panels and if it's something we're interested in. We actually are so I agreed to have someone drop off ""literature"" for us to review.

Cameron met us the next day and gave us his solar presentation, he was very kind and respectful the whole time so this isn't on his character. But the company he works for.

We were taken advantage of and put into a contract, that was just ""so we could get a roof inspection and estimate."" Unknowingly my husband signed the paperwork to have our roof inspected, which turned out to be a full blown contract with Empire Solar Group to install solar on our roof. Lie number 2.

We also signed the paperwork to get a pre-approval to finance the solar and told it would only be a soft pull on our credit. Lie number 3. We were hit with a hard inquiry and in a full blown loan for $33,000!!

We were still under the 3 day cancellation clause so was able to cancel the loan and contract.

BUYER BEWARE!! The deal is a pretty good one but the ethics with this company had too many red flags. Simple Energy appears to be a new company so there isn't a ton of info on them. I don't like writing bad reviews but consumers should be aware of this companies practices.

Let them into my home and it was a ride from day one....When the sales rep arrived at my home he offered a free estimate. (sounds good), but it required a roof inspection (sounds reasonable) so I agreed. But he was adamant that I sign ""an authorization to inspect"" on the spot. It was late and I really just wanted to start my night, but sure... (thinking it was a one page release). Nope... it was a full on engagement contract. **red flag #1**; I'm too tired to read this and, as I never sign without reading, it would have to wait - so I tell him to email it to me and I'll loop back tomorrow. He didn't like that answer, so he reiterated (multiple times) that it was nothing more than an authorization to inspect the roof and if I don't sign it, he can't schedule the inspection. **red flag #2**; I took another quick look at the multi-page engagement contract and said, ""Then I thank you for your time, but I'm not signing something without reading it and I'm not reading it right now""... he persisted to the point I was near showing him the door (**red flag #3) when he decided to call his manager **red flag #4**; his manager essentially repeats the same thing over the phone, but added ""you can cancel after the inspection if you decide to not move forward - no questions asked"". Now -- That's some timeshare nonsense that I have zero interest in participating in.... **red flag #5**. I repeated my position but guess that my tone made the point, so he committed to send them via email. As agreed, we got the document via docusign but after reading it - as I expected - it was a lot more than an inspection authorization **red flag #6**. I had no intention of signing an engagement contract when I haven't even received a site plan or a quote. Regardless, the inspection was done and we did get the site plan and then the proposal. We had a few questions, so some back and forth but at no time did anyone approve the project to move forward either verbally or in writing (at lease intentionally).
A month later we get an email from SDG&E informing us that our application for interconnection has been received and it had Empire Solar's (the would be installer) name on it. - what application? Who submitted an application? Sure wasn't us. **red flag #7** at this point, there was zero chance Simple Energy or the installer (Empire Solar) were getting the deal and I knew the app would eventually die off without certain other steps that wouldn't happen, so we simply moved on with the other providers. They looped back later so we told them we wouldn't be moving forward with them - just to put it to bed cleanly. Two months later - we got a statement from a lending company informing us that we had a fully executed loan and that our first payment was coming due. A loan for a project that was never approved nor completed. Were getting it cleared up but i highly recommend that you stick to installers that have control of the process from start to finish to avoid the ""not it!"" conversation.

This was my first solar installation. The sales rep came to my door and presented his solar sales. This is a new home to us so I figured why not. I was told that the system will offset all the electrical bill. To me that means zero each month, so I figured that was worth the $105.00 a month payment for the system. Well it's been 4 months now and it has only lowered my payment by an average of $35.00 a month. I've called them, emailed them and text them. Nothing has been done. They told me to contact the installation company, but I told them that they did not sell me the system. Promises made, but they were not kept. Look for another company.
