It's been about 2 years since I used Shelton Roofing. We haven't had a rainy winter yet, but as far as I can tell the roof looks good and we have had no issues. I did notice one small tear (about 3 inches long) on the edge of my roof where the metal flashing is. I emailed Shelton Roofing and they quickly replied. They asked me to send a photo of the spot so they could determine what to do. A week later they came out. They fixed that spot, inspected the rest of the roof, and did a thorough job as far as I could tell.

After a disastrous job by a roofer who is apparently still in business in San Jose, we had to have the entire roof of our apartment building redone after one year! In fact, one of our apartment units was flooded at a skylight that was like an open wound just days after he had ""finished"" the job. The following year we hired Shelton Roofing to redo the entire tar and gravel flat roof. They did a fabulous job. And they guaranteed their work unconditionally for two years. In fact, a small leak did develop at a vent pipe after one year. I called them and they responded immediately, got it fixed in a hurry.

It is a pleasure to recommend people who take pride in their work and show genuine integrity.

This business is amazingly professional. Two family members owning 2 different houses needed Shelton's repair services within the last two days. A different roofer/repairman came out to each house within a few days and both were excellent and professional, and worked quickly and thoroughly to fix our two roofs. Everything was explained. Price was insanely reasonable. They had done a major section of one roof many years ago, and it was still holding up despite being shingled on a relatively flat surface at my request. Excellent. I wish every business had such great customer service. The woman who schedules the workmen is amazingly competent, efficient and warm.Call them and you won't have any travails; wish all businesses ran the way this one does.

I called Shelton to do a small gutter repair. They said they would fit it in between their larger jobs. After two weeks I called back and the office manager said none of the crew managers had picked up my ticket, but she would give it to one of them personally. After another 10 days they still could not give me a date to do the work.
I understand this was a small job but I still don't appreciate being strung along. They should know whether they can schedule the work or not and say so to their customers.

Very disappointed in them. They came late for first appointment. They didn't want to provide a written estimate. They said they would do the work. Ten days later I heard nothing and so called them. They said they had a job card and would get to it shortly. Never heard from them again. I consider them unreliable and have no customer service. I will let my roof fall in before I would ever call them again.

Pretty disappointed - called them to schedule an estimate for a couple leaks. Made an appointment with a window for them to come out. Day of the appointment the window of time came and went without a word. So I called them up, and the woman I spoke was rude and annoyed-sounding. She tells me that the appointment was for repair, not an estimate. How can they make a repair when they've never even seen what's wrong with the place? And even so, no one showed at the appointed time. Then she says she'll cancel the appointment and make a new one for an estimate but that it won't be for another 10 days. At that point tell her to forget the whole thing - she replies with an ""okay great!"" and hangs up. She actually sounds happy NOT to have my business. No apology for wasting 2 hours of my day waiting for a roofer who never showed.

I just finished a new tar and gravel flat roof project with Shelton on my Eichler home. I am extremely pleased with the estimate, team on my roof, and most importantly the end result.

Paul was my estimator / project lead, and he was responsive via phone, and provided a thoughtful and detailed quote. He incorporated several additional elements into my quote that a friend in the know suggested I add. No problems. They were not the lowest cost, but within a reasonable range, given I was confident that they would do good work.

Their installation team was great. I actually spent a fair amount of time on my roof during the project, and Wulmero (lead installer) was very knowledgeable, and provided great service. He was consistently happy to spend time with me, showing me what they were doing and why, etc. The rest of the team was good too. All friendly and did detailed and careful work.

I also had them working in conjunction with a Cobalt Power, who is the solar company that was installing my SunPower solar panel system. The worked together very well, and coordinated the project so the stand offs were put on before my roof was installed, to ensure the best possible seal on my new roof.

The work was completed as promised, with no damage to the house or debris left over. A couple of plants near the ladder will need some love, but a minor issue for a re-roof project.

I have also used them before on a couple of occasions when my prior roof was leaking in a storm. They came out quickly and did a good job at a reasonable price.

I wish I could have actually reviewed the work of Shelton Roofing, but they didn't even want my business. I'm in the process of finding a roofer to replace the roof on my home. I attempted to contact this company via the ""Contact Us"" form on their website, to schedule an appointment to discuss options and obtain an estimate. They emailed me back promptly (good), ordering me to call them to setup an appointment (bad). No other explanation, nothing. If I had wanted to play phone tag with a bunch of companies, I wouldn't have attempted to contact them online. Further, why do they have a contact form on their website if in reality they only want to be contacted via phone? Then to add insult to injury, when I replied to their ""call us"" email, questioning why this was neccesary, that email was literally rejected by their militant anti-spam software, insisting that I ""register"" my email address in order to email them. Clearly this company has no interest in being contacted online, and therefore is not interested in my business. They need to drag themselves into the 21st century. This isn't 1982.

I've worked with Shelton now for over 20 years and 2 homes. They are efficient, on time and do great work that they stand behind. Go nowhere else.
