Recommended Customer Reviews

Shelter Roofing and Solar did an amazing job. They were dependable and courteous throughout the reroofing project. After reroofing they installed solar panels that look fabulous. I highly recommend Shelter Roofing and Solar.

Excellent service, great quality, very responsive and communicative. Job completed on time and job site cleaned very well each day. They damaged a couple of rain gutters, but had them replaced promptly. I would not hesitate to recommend Shelter Roofing to anyone.

After we experienced water damage in recent storms, Shelter inspected our roof. Jason was professional, helpful and, most importantly, honest. Though we expected to have some roofing issue, he advised us that our roof is in good condition. When we do need roof work, we will call the trustworthy people at Shelter!

My husband and I would highly recommend Shelter Roofing and Solar.
The wonderful workers that re-roofed our house were outstanding, hard working and very friendly. We were very pleased and have referred this company to a few friends.

We had a bad leak at our house. I called Shelter Roofing and they came out quickly and did the job fast. They put in new underlayment and reset tile a few weeks before tropical storm Hilary hit. We received about 3 inches of rain in two hours and we didn't have any issues at all. Shelter roofing did a good job for us. I would recommend them.

We had a ""Roof Tune-Up"" and had a patio cover rebuilt with a new tongue and groove roof the rolled roofing on one home and it came out beautifully. The price was reasonable, the workers were clean, professional, on time and finished the job promptly. We are now having a partial re-roof which involves removing and then re-installing solar panels on a cement tile roof. We have been very pleased with the services we've received. They don't ""over sell"" and recommend only what is truly needed.

Shelter Roofing & Solar replaced our 1,800 square foot roof and installed a 22 solar panel system in March 2023. We are extremely pleased with the customer service, quality craftsmanship, and professionalism we received throughout the entire process. When I contacted Shelter, the owner Scott Baumgard promptly scheduled a visit and generated a proposal within days. He was very easy to work with and provided us with a competitive bid given the size of our roof and solar panels system. We really appreciated the level of detail in the bid and explaining the benefits of owning our solar system. Best of all, he answered all of our questions throughout the project thoroughly and in a timely manner. The office staff was quick to both email and send hard-copy versions of the proposal contract and later the invoice and payment options, In other words, there were NO surprises. All crews were well orchestrated and arrived on our property on time. Each day they all worked extremely hard to complete the tear-down, felting, shingling, tiled and solar system and panels for our roof in only 5 days. All crews were extremely respectful of our property and privacy while onsite, cleaned up at the end of each work day, and conducted themselves professionally. In fact, when the inspector came to do the final inspection after the crew had left, he told me how impressed he was with the quality of the work performed by Shelter Roofing and Solar. Several neighbors have stopped by and commented on our new roof and we have already recommended Shelter Roofing Company to several parties. If I were to give Shelter Roofing Company a letter grade, it would be A+.

The recent rainstorms caused a leak on our roof. We called Shelter Roofing to fix it. We've previously used them for the roof on our covered outdoor patio and trusted their expertise and quality of work.
They were able to come out right away and gave us a competitive quote that was thoroughly explained regarding the work they'd have to complete. They removed and replaced approximately 350 sq ft and covered it with 2 layers of 40 pound felt and replaced all of the broken tiles, even the ones not near the problem area. Despite the windy conditions, they were done in 1 day and cleaned all worl related debris afterwards.
I've used them twice now and highly recommend the team at Shelter Roofing.

In October/November of 2022, I contacted a few roofing companies to look at our roof as we had some leaks over the years and figured it would be smart to get it fixed. We had 4 companies come out for an inspection. While looking at the Shelter website, I asked them about solar and they said they will send someone who can look at my roof as well as speak about solar. 1 of the 4 companies was a man in a small truck. He quoted me a crazy low price and I could not get him off my property fast enough. Scary. The other 2 companies were very professional and also discussed solar with me. Ultimately, we decided to move forward with Shelter. Chris was our sales person and he was knowledgable and professional. He mapped out part of our roof for a repair and the cost was reasonable. But he suggested doing the full roof because it is 30 years old already other problems will arise. I did agree. Then I looked at the dollars to add solar and it seemed to pencil with the 30% tax credit and the ability to finance the solar project. We got delayed a few times because it rained. Shelter saw a 4-day gap in the rain forecast and sent 2 crews to do the roof. They finished in 3 days. The staff was polite and professional. They cleaned up every day before leaving. A few weeks later, a different team came back to add the solar. The experience was the same --- a professional and polite crew. Shelter handled everything--- the permit and process with SCE. The owner Scott has followed up with me a few times to make sue everything was handled to our satisfaction. The Shelter team that I worked with over the last few months are great. Shane from the Solar side came out a few times to inspect the system and our electrical panel. Overall, I am extremely satisfied.
My wife and I recommend Shelter Roofing and Solar. Nice people, professional, fairly priced, and most importantly --- high quality.
Thank you Shelter Team --- we appreciate your hard work.

This review is long overdue. Shelter re[placed my roof and installed solar a couple years ago now. It was a big project. Honestly, they aren't the cheapest but they are very competitively priced and in my experience it's better to pay a fair price for excellent work than to go budget and get what you pay for. From my first request for a bid until the project was completed. Shelter was responsive and helpful. Just as you'd expect from a top notch family owned business. Typically I wouldn't leave a review for getting what I expect. But what made me really appreciate Shelter is how they responded when things didn't go exactly right. My job was done. We passed inspection and I was perfectly content to consider the project complete. However, the owner of the business makes it a practice to inspect all jobs. Even though we passed inspection and were a ""wrap,"" he saw something he didn't like. It's nothing I would have ever been aware of but he didn't like something about the install and made fixing it a priority. He had his crew work another couple days, fixing something I still don't understand. At the end of the day it cost him money, time and effort but getting the job right is more important to Shelter than all of that. I really appreciate the owner taking such pride in the business. Honestly, we were inspected and done and he still made getting the job done to his exacting standards a priority. I'm so impressed by this - he could have let whatever the issue was go and move on to the next project. I never would have been the wiser. Truly, mad respect to Shelter. They exemplify business ethics and I don't hesitate to refer them to anyone.
