What do you have to do to have Shaughnessy Roofing respond to your phone calls? We called them because the Landlord at our business uses them exclusively. We have a small leak in the roof at our home and wanted it repaired before the rainy season. Called them in March, May, June. We finally spoke with them and arranged for somebody to come check it out - probably August. He determined the problem, told us he would send an estimate for the work. Given the delay, we told him at the time that if he didn't want our business to just say so. We've heard nothing since. What a way to run a business!

Shaughnessy Roofing is the best. After a botched job by another company, Shaughnessy redid our roof 13 years ago, and it is as strong as ever. Even during the very heavy recent rains, we have had no problems with the roof, but Carey did help us trouble shoot a leak in our garage unrelated to the roof, and we were able to take care of the problem very quickly by calling our plumber. Shaughnessy is very well regarded by other contractors we have used. We have found them to be responsive, friendly and very professional. We originally got the recommendation from a neighbor, another happy customer. We highly recommend Shaughnessy Roofing.

Had some work done on a problem area of my roof from a former employee of Shaughnessy. The former employee understood the issue so I hired him. Unfortunately, it was determined by Shaughnessy Roofing that his notes on the invoice were not detailed enough to warrant any recourse on the repair. The area that was repaired leaked again during last year's rainy season.

Looking at the repair, Carey told me that the repair that I hired the employee to fix, was not extensive enough to have corrected the problem and the notes on the invoice were not detailed enough to describe the repair. Unfortunately, I never followed either of them up on the roof - so big problem for home owner. Do people do that?

I was somewhat skeptical but Carey, told me he would send me an estimate to fix it (again) and repair a different area of the roof, as well as new gutters. I wanted to believe him, even though obviously it was not in my best interest, because I already paid for a failed repair.

That was six months ago and I never received any estimate or explanation. Now I am extremely skeptical. So, my interpretation is that the former employee DID in fact understand the exact area that needed to be repaired. It was discussed in detail. He just took lousy notes on his invoice. He was paid for the repair. It failed, but I have no recourse because he passed away. Stuck. Sad. Leaky.

Shaughnessy roofing respond time to my needs was excellent, the pricing was very fair and the work was done with 10 days of the bid. Carey and crew were very professional and thorough. I would use them again for sure.

I had an appointment with them yesterday, 10/20/15 at 5pm, and they never showed up. STOOD UP! I called and left a voicemail letting them know I had to leave work 45 minutes early. The voice on their message is the same guy I talked to. I've already let friends know, one in particular who asked me for the name of the company and I gladly gave him the name - on Facebook no less. On top of that, apparently they close at 4pm, so it feels like I was set up. There's no excuse for his, none whatsoever. You don't even deserve one star - more like 1/4 of a star.

I was referred by my HOA to call Shaughnessy Roofing for repair leaks to my roof. A worker came to assess the leak, his response was we cannot help. The worker was at my home for 5 minutes. Two weeks later I received a bill for $150.00. I was furious and could not believe the nerve to send out an invoice for a five minute denial of handling the job. I DO NOT recommend Shaughnessy and will never use them ever. I called Freutel Roofing, Inc. and they referred me to McElroy Construction, which took care of the leaks. McElroy does a very excellent and detailed job and is very reliable. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend both roofing companies based in Pacifica. They are both super professional and care for their customers' needs.

Shaughnessy removed the old roof on our house and put a new roof on. Carey, the owner, was responsive and professional throughout the process. His team did a great job. I'd use him again.

I contacted 3 roofing companies for bids. We used Shaughnessy to redo our entire roof. We had an ugly tar and gravel roof and they recommended a product from Dupont which was torched tar. The company did an excellent job on the project. The pricing was very competitive. They know their stuff at Shaughnessy. We called them back so they could do a side roof extension for us. This was slate and they also did an excellent job. I highly recommend this company. They will do a quality job for you.

well our school did business with this roofer about 8 years ago with the dad of the company. being satisfied by them, i called them again. now keep in mind this is not a small roof repair. this is a big job with current bids over 50k. i called them again this time and the son, chris, came out about 6-7 weeks ago and said he would get me a bid within a few days. well suffice it so say, i still haven't gotten a bid. i called them and he was on vacation. i called again and he called me back and said he forgot but would do i within a day. well that was days ago. i have now called 3 times and still have not gotten a bid. THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS......I FORGOT. the only reason i am giving 2 stars is because they used to be good.

i would say the work they do is good. The problem is trying to reach them on a weekend if there is a problem with the work. There emergency number they do not respond to even though they indicate they will if you are a customer which we are. Very frustrating.
