I was under the impression they were going to start the job and work everyday until its done. They duped me into having them replace 50% of the rotted wood, instead of me handling all of it. This ended up costing me an additional $3800 dollars, which I could have saved if they were honest and told me they were not going to show up for 2 out of days between the tear off and the shingles arriving. I could have easily completed the sections they replaced in those 2 open days. Dave is an A**HOLE as well as Priscilla the finance manager as they both admitted they were not clear to me about scheduling, completion timelines. I offered to meet them in the middle on the $3800 additional billing, but nope they stuck me with it. Not only that Priscilla threatened to file a court claim not 24 hours after they finished if she didn't get her check!!! I have the voicemail recording for collateral if anyone wants to hear her shenanigans. I have additional dirt on this operation but I did not want to get any of their workers fired. My advice is to hire another company as these people are ungrateful.

Outside the experience with the owner, everyone else in the company was a pleasure to work with. Steve, the foreman, is knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure the work was top notch. Our installer, Armando, is one of the hardest working people I every met.
Because we had another company coming on Monday to install solar, Armondo worked until 6:00pm on Saturday to make sure the roof was finished and ready for the next contractor.
The owner, Dave, on the other hand is the most unprofessional person I have ever come across. Armando, left the trash on the roof when he finished the install on Saturday and told me that the company would be by early Monday to clean up. I had shared with Armondo, Steve and the office that we had another contractor starting work on Monday and they needed access to the roof.
I called the company at 9:00 am on Monday morning reminding them that they needed to clean up the trash so my solar installers would have access to the site.Dave arrived a short time later in a foul mood and when I met him outside he shared that it only took 2 minutes to clear the roof (It really took closer to 20 minutes). At that time, I shared with him that I wasn't happy with the attention to detail and I though that there were some things that should have been done better. Dave became very defensive and started in with the excuses. I showed him a couple of areas of the work that were not up to my expectations and his defense and deflection only increased.
Because I spent over $17,000 for the roof, I believe I have the right to share the areas I am not satisfied. Dave did not want to hear my opinion. He made excuse after excuse until we were both in a foul mood. When I showed him some of the work that we had added to the contract, his response was that he was doing that for free and I should be thankful for the effort. It was not being done for free it is part of the contract that we negotiated. At one point he shared that he was at his fifth job site of the day putting out fires. I think that speaks volumes, if meet one person in a day who is a pain in the tail that maybe its that person, but if there are five then that says more about you. I shared with Dave that I expected that the details be fixed or he could expect a negative review and his response was ""Oh your one of those customers"". In the end, he pulled his sign out of my yard and refused to tell me his name like a five year old.
Two hours later his Steve his foreman arrived with a calm head and we worked things out. Steve would earn a 10 star rating, Dave would not earn a single star. By the way, he told Steve to tell me that he apologized about the morning's interactions, but he was sure that I didn't want to see him again. If that isn't the behavior of a five year old I don't know what to call it.
I would only recommend the company if he sold it, and that is unfortunate that his employees have to work for a boss like Dave.

These guys are amazing!! We really needed a new roof. They came out and in under 4 days we had a new roof. The owner Dave is great he came out on a Saturday night just to help finish of clean up, and he is very friendly and professional. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new roof he was upfront about all costs and any potential costs from what could not be seen prior to start of work. None of the other quotes even mentioned any of the possibilities that Dave did. Do yourself a favor and go with Shake Shingle and Roll Roofing, you will not be disappointed!

Satisfactory work. Would have rated 4 star had I paid $800, and in addition 5 star had the roofer built up the low side to prevent excessive pooling.

I hired Shake, Shingle, and Roll Roofing, to do the flat part of my roof and separate garage of my 1926 mission/Spanish style home I sort of new it was time to do my roof. I had done some repairs to the roof by other companies since I purchased my home in 2003. They came out to look at the roof and answered questions. They told me to expect a bid in a few weeks . Note this is during COVID time. I received the contract which is quite detailed. I appreciated it a lot! Like suggestion to have my dog not on the premises ( because the noise would alarm my labs ears) and taking down pictures that could fall down ( it did not happen ) . They were on time and neat and friendly. One small hiccup at the last day was taken care of without question. I thought they did a superior work. Organized and knowledgeable. And I thought reasonable price. I would hire them again and I give them 5 stars.

I would have to say how happy I was with the fast response in coming out to fix our leak. He came out the same day and was on our roof patching the leak in the rain. Dave was kind and very educated. I would definitely recommend this company.

HONESTWORK % GUARANTEED, EXTREMELY EASY TO WORK WITH! Never thought I'd say ""OMG I LOVE MY ROOFING COMPANY (but I did, I said it). VERY REASONABLE, and explains everything and every option, if they can repair it they will ( & did,per my coworker) even my neighbors who r very good for looking out for me, came over & said he "" wanted me to know that crew is doing a 110% job""! When they suggested putting some reflective material on the roof because it will keep your house cooler make sure you LISTEN, Even on the days when we had it up to 89 here in Claremont and 90 when I walked in to my house I thought maybe My son had the AC running, I am actually text him twice to thank them for my nice cool home. Make sure you get that on your roof it's worth every dime, game changer in-house and garage. They also made sure that all the mess was pickup around the yard. & if you're thinking of doing solar make sure you talk to him first very very educated!! & Secret solar companies don't want you to know!!Crazy, I am doing our review on a roofing company absolutely loved, SHAKE SHINGLE & ROLL

They repaired a leak in my roof but wouldn't honor the 2 year warranty on their work that they said it came with. It started to leak again from the exact same spot months later (no significant rain in between leaks) so I know it just wasn't repaired correctly. They claimed this leak was different even though it was in the exact same spot and they didn't remove shingles and check.
