I feel a bit regretful to give a 3 star to Shadowfax but hard to give anything higher.

John did a pretty good job explaining to me what ridge ventilation is and why it works well. I was convinced and decided to go with Shadowfax even though their price is not the lowest one. Overall, the ridge ventilation is actually pretty good and our house stayed nice and cool after the new roof is installed even during the hot days this August. We chose the thickest shingle 3TL and the look is nice!

But I think they can do better in certain areas, hence 3 star. Here are the list for areas for improvements:

1. The night on the first day of work, it rained but the roof was not covered. So rain came into our house. We were glad that the rain was only heavy for like 10 minutes. I made several calls and finally reached them. They came over at 4am and put up the cover. I know rain at this time of the year is rare, but still ...

2. One area of our roof is flat. One guy who worked on the roof stepped through the roof and part of the ceiling collapsed into the bathroom under. I was told that the ceiling area was rotten due to leak and I needed to hire someone to fix the issue. Although I appreciate that they discovered a long-time leak issue for me, I hope they could be more careful.

3. This is the biggest one. After the roof is done, we noticed that the roof above our garage is not flat (some area is lower and some area is higher and the ridge line has a bump too). Since this is pretty much the only area of roof that's visible to pedestrians, my wife and I wanted to get it fixed. I was told by them repeatedly that the issue was because my old roof was not flat. We plan to pay tens of thousands of dollars for a new roof and they blame on the old roof for bad look of new roof. Unbelievable!

With my insistence, they gave me a quote, which includes the cost of tiering off the new roof section, buying new material and putting up the new roof section. Basically, full cost to redone the whole thing. We negotiated with the owner, showed our great disappointment and eventually cut the price to about one third. We don't think we should pay that at all. So next time, in case you hire them for a new roof, make sure to ask them to level your roof.

The Shadowfax team is fantastic, I had a new roof put on over a year ago and the install was done great, I had a leak at the skylight this year which they were out in no time at all to find out what the issue was
They were able to determine that the skylight was the issue and ordered a new one and installed very quickly.

We contacted Shadowfax for a re-roofing bid and chose this company because of the great Yelp reviews. We decided to re-roof because we planned to sell the house. Our realtor advised us against it after we had already signed a contract. We contacted Shadowfax right away; it was more than two weeks before the scheduled start date. Unfortunately, we were charged $500 for the permit. The permit itself was about $150.

Since no materials were ordered, we felt the company could have shown more grace and not taken advantage of us. I wouldn't mind some administrative charge for pulling the permit but I don't think $350 was in any way reasonable. I recently contacted another roofing company for some work and told them about our situation with Shadowfax. They agreed we were treated unethically.

I am just starting out on updating my parents house to sell, and I wanted to see how much a new roof would cost. The roof now is not very old, but it's the old style shake. I made an appointment for Saturday between 1-2pm. I ran an errand and when I pulled in my driveway, he was already here a few minutes early. John was professional, personable and HONEST! He knew that the roof wasn't that old and told me I don't need a new roof to sell the home. It has another 30+ years left in it. He also gave me a contact for a roof inspector that he's known for many years. I will refer anyone asking for a roofing company to Shadowfax Roofing. Thank you John, you made my day!

I cannot begin to say enough great things about this company. Jerry is a true pleasure to work with from beginning to end. He checks in and is personable and honest. He goes the extra mile to make sure the job is done correctly and his follow up is outstanding. His crew did an excellent job. They were timely, clean, polite, hard working. Our job was finished on time and looks amazing. Even though the roof is finished, Jerry still is checking in regarding some touch up work and finishing it up. His persistence to have a perfect end product is great. I got a quote from a big shop and Shadowfax was comparable yet I know that the customer service from them is way better than I would have gotten elsewhere. Highly recommend to anyone!!

We recently had our roof replaced by Shadowfax. We choose to go with company after having them do some minor repairs last year. Don, who did the repairs was a delight to work with and we decided to replace our 30 plus year roof this year. Knowing Don would be the project manager helped us make the decision. They may not be the cheapest roofing company, but there is nothing cheap about their workmanship and follow-through. There were 2 layers of roofing and it was a messy job, but the team, under Vicente and Don's direction did a thorough clean up. The new venting and low-e wrap they provided has made an immediate difference in the temperature in the house. The roof looks beautiful and we are extremely satisfied.

Call and talk to a lady on the phone. Told her I am looking for chimney flashing repair. She said the repair manager is very busy but I can leave a voicemail for him to call back to discuss the job. After leaving my name and phone number in the voicemail, wait for 2 days and never got a response. It seems like they don't care about doing these small job.

Shadowfax put a new roof on our house four years ago. No problems whatsoever; very competitive pricing.
A couple of weeks ago the guy cleaning our gutters indicated that a rain cap had blown off one of the vents. I called Jerry. He fixed it in a few days. No charge, and I am sure the missing rain cap was not his fault.
Definitely a company to go to.

Very rarely can I say any contractor working on my house can be described as having integrity but I will say they have really surprised me. They gave us a great deal six months ago and when I had a leak they did not hesitate to come back. They investigated it and fixed it immediately without asking for any payment. Wow.
