Our roof is 25 years old and has only had some leaks because of shoddy workmanship when we had some stuff installed on our roof. After repairing water damage and fixing the probable source of the leaks I was still so nervous about possible future damage that I decided to get quotes for a new roof. I read lots of great reviews online about Shadow Roofing and at the hardware store a couple of other customers recommended Shadow.

When I called Shadow Roofing I was impressed by how clear and organized this company is in all respects; they are great communicators. I was glad to make an appointment with them and looked forward to getting a quote for a new roof.

I was pretty darn impressed by Manuel from Shadow Roofing Company who just inspected our roof. His verdict: ""these are 50 year presidential shingles and you certainly don't need a new roof.""

He gave me very specific recommendations about fixing any suspect areas. As Manuel departed he said ""Call me if you have any problems.""

Shadow Roofing was recommended to me by a family friend who is also a contractor. From my first the first phone call to the last follow up after my project was completed they exceeded my expectations. The start date was a little further out than I had hoped, but that is a good sign when working with craftsmen in construction, it means that they are in demand because they are good at what they do.
Manual met with me and gave me the project options that I requested in his bid, without any of the high pressure sales tactics and up selling for additional services that the other project bidders had subjected me to. He was honest, open and plain speaking. He explained everything so that I would have enough information to make the best choice for me. The materials used were top notch and Certainteed was the brand that I preferred.
The crew that worked on my roof was professional, respectful, on time and tidy. They swept up everyday. The foreman was informative and very good about keeping me up to speed on everything that was going on.
That leads me to the best part of working with Shadow, the office manager Erika. She was terrific. She answered every question and concern that I had and if she didn't have the answer she found it and got back in touch with me ASAP. She even emailed pics of the projected appearance of the house with each different color roofing so that I could make the best choice. She made the entire process as easy as possible.
The roof looks great, any and all repairs were made, and the project was much less demanding and intrusive than I had expected.
In a nutshell, Shadow Roofing exceeded my expectations at a very fair price. I cannot thank them enough.

We had two companies bid our project. Shadow's proposal content was comparable to the other company, but their price was significantly lower. The staff was easy to work with from choosing a perfect roof color to bidding to project completion. We expected some repair work -- our house is 70 years old and had 5 layers of roofing in some areas -- and the price change for that work was beyond fair. Shadow's communication was prompt, clear, and courteous, and the crew was hardworking and polite. Our landscaping was respected and protected, and the work area was thoroughly cleaned up at the end of each day. Our new roof looks great. We highly recommend them.

What a great, unexpected experience I received at my home from Shadow Roofing. Manual was great and detail when I met him on the project. The team showed up the day of the job clean, professional, towing an out house so they didn't have to use my toilet, who does that? Clean quick job, will definitely only use them in the future.

One day roofers more like it....WOW!!!! I'd post pics but I didn't have TIME to take any LOL, I'll post a pic of the finished job later BUT GET THIS 6hrs to re-roof my roof, the cleanup STELLAR, the professionalism equally STELLAR. Not only are they fast but fair too VERY fair MORE than fair. I had to cancel on them thus losing my deposit of 1000.00, a contract is a contract, I wouldn't have it any other way, when I called a month later to lay down another deposit they honored the original agreement.......I was FLOORED and so very grateful for that level of customer service even though I wasn't quite a customer yet. Hands down without question I'd hire them again to do my roof 30 yrs down the road, I highly recommend this company the crew is OUT OF THIS WORLD good. Polite, attn to detail, hard-working and HONEST (I left my house completely open to them for the restroom use) you cannot find a better family-owned company than Shadow Roofing. Stay away! I was at the house two days before the job and one day after the job, working on the yard. Within those three days an irrigation pipe near the house exterior was broken. They absolutely refused to accept the possibility that one of their crew could have done it, even accidentally. Demanded full payment be hand delivered to their office. We had to have our gardener come out and repair. They also left a number of roofing nails lying point up on the back patio and yard. Also required last minute smoke detector form be filled out and taken to the site in order to clear inspection. Why wasn't that part of the initial paperwork?

Makes me concerned that if there ever is a warranty problem with the roof they will deny any responsibility for anything, any time.

Manuel seemed like a nice guy while giving the bid, never heard from him since and customer service during and after the job was lacking. Roof looks OK, I hope it doesn't leak!

Flaky Bunch! I had an appointment with these folks and they never showed! We set it up a week in advance and called to confirm the day prior. I waited for 45 minutes and called twice. Never call me back. They may do great work but I will never know...

Shadow Roofing was fantastic. Of 3 bids theirs was the lowest by about 15%. The guys were great and cleaned up completely. The project took a day longer than the 2 days they had originally planned. But the price stayed the same- and the work was great. I highly recommend them.

I can't speak to the quality of Shadow Roofing's roof work because I was never able to get that far with them. They were recommended to me so on 9/5/17 I called them and scheduled an estimate with their roofer Manuel for today, Friday 9/15/17 at 1pm. After getting off the phone with them, I emailed the property manager for the house I own that needs roof work and
invited him to join me at the meeting with Manuel on 9/15. I then scheduled three additional appointments at the house for that day since I was already going to be there at 1pm. When 1:45p rolled around and Manuel had not shown up, I called Shadow Roofing to see what time they thought he would make it. The receptionist said she had no record of an appt for today and instead had it down for Mon 9/18/17 at 1pm. I informed her that my house had long been scheduled for termite tenting on that day so there's no possibility that the error was on my end as it wouldn't ever have been possible to meet then. She did not apologize for the error and stood by her story that 9/18 at 1p is what they had scheduled. Because I have heard good things about Manuel, I asked her when we could reschedule. She told me not until 10/2/17. As I am preparing my house to be rented asap, it is not possible for us to wait this long for a roof work estimate. When I asked her if they could try to get him out sooner since they had not come today as scheduled, the receptionist informed me that they were not interested in my roofing business anymore. Really? First of all, you don't know how much roof work I need done or how many properties I might own. And secondly, my property manager manages 40+ properties in our area so I find it surprising that Shadow Roofing would not be interested in my roofing business....or that of potentially many new customers via my property manager and other word of mouth leads. I feel badly for Manuel, I really do because he might be a great roofer and a great person....but having someone on the front lines who treats interested customers like his receptionist treated me is something he might want to reconsider. Is a quick and sincere apology for a scheduling error worth potentially thousands of dollars every year over many years? Apparently not to Shadow Roofing. Find another roofing company that values your time and appreciates your business....I already have and they are coming today at 5pm.
