After the terrifying 2020 fires in California's Bay Area, I had non-combustable siding installed on my home in the Santa Cruz Mountains; and this year I hired SH Construction to install a steel roof. Theirs wasn't the least expensive bid; but after getting to know Sione Hautau, their proprietor, and seeing the company's impressive large installation in Woodside, I chose them.

I like giving my business to local, family concerns; and this one met all my expectations: Sione was friendly and courteously professional from the start. He listened to and asked questions about my concerns and offered suggestions to accommodate them. He always returned my texts and phone calls in reasonable time.

As a result of the good groundwork, the installation itself went smoothly. The crew arrived on time each morning and worked through hot days. As an older woman living alone, I appreciated that they were always respectful when needing to enter my home to reach the work site from my back deck. After the install, they left my property spotless. I could go on about why I give SH Construction five stars, but you should call them and find out yourselves.

SH Roofing removed my chimney/fireplace and replaced it with a beautiful new outdoor kitchen. They also did an amazing job rebuilding the roof, building a new insulated wall, moving electrical boxes, connecting to water/sewer lines, and pouring a leveled concrete pad. Quality work done right! Sione Hautau is the best roofing company I've ever worked with. SH Roofing is honesty, reliable and prompt and quotes fair prices - he texts to let you know exact arrival and he is a problem solver - He also installed a skylight that a painting firm broke, I won't ever call any other firm. I have a partially flat roof and he solved a problem that two other roofing companies 'fixed' AND charged much for 'fixing' and the roof subsequently leaked again. One firm over billed me for 3 guys who sat & had lunch and yet billed me.

We had a leak in our roof due to our solar panel anchoring which loosened over time. Sione was able to visit on the same day of the call. He took a look at the issue, took photos to show me and immediately resealed the exposed area. Its been several weeks now with several rainy days and no leak. Easy to communicate with. Honest. And his rate was reasonable unlike some roofers who charged a premium when calling them for urgent issues. To add, he's also a licensed contractor. I will definitely call him the next time I have roofing needs!

Sione is great. He installed a skylight in our living room. He was much more reasonably priced than another quote I had, just for putting the skylight in the roof, and Sione did that, plus all the drywall, framing, permit, painting, and moved a ceiling light. He built a little plastic-curtain ""room"" in the living room to avoid any dust getting around, and totally cleaned up every day. Needless to say, I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality, punctuality, and he's a nice guy as well. No hesitation to use him again for any future job.
