Semper Solaris, established in 2012 by Kelly Shawhan and John Almond, focuses on residential solar power installations. With a background as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, Kelly Shawhan has been a contractor for over two decades. He graduated cum laude from Miami University of Ohio, often called ""the Yale of the Midwest,"" on a full military scholarship. As a first alternate for the Olmsted scholarship, the military's version of the Rhodes scholarship, he has served in many capacities around the globe. He was one of the few Marines selected to teach at the Army Artillery School located at Ft. Sill, OK. After his time in the military, he transitioned to construction, spending the last two decades as an energy specialist in the solar industry.

With two decades of experience in the business realm, John Almond has focused on construction for over ten years. He transitioned to renewable energy, seeing it as the future and a perfect match for his abilities.
