Founded in 2012 by Kelly Shawhan and John Almond, Semper Solaris specializes in residential solar power installations. Kelly Shawhan, a former Captain in the United States Marine Corps, has over 20 years of contracting experience. He is a cum laude graduate from Miami University of Ohio, known as ""the Yale of the Midwest,"" where he attended on a full military scholarship. As a first alternate for the Olmsted scholarship, the military's version of the Rhodes scholarship, he has served in many capacities around the globe. He was one of the few Marines selected to teach at the Army Artillery School located at Ft. Sill, OK. After his military career, he dedicated the last twenty years to construction, most recently as an energy specialist in the solar sector.

John Almond has been a prominent figure in the business sector for 20 years, specializing in construction for over a decade. Recognizing renewable energy as the future, he redirected his expertise toward this ethical field.
