They replaced our roof a few years ago. We had another company scheduled but the owner's mom suddenly died so we needed someone quick as we were also starting a solar project and it was about to rain. I called they gave a good price. They got the job done in one day while our solar was done at the same time. I left for work and it was done before I came home, everything was cleaned up. I also have had two people I worked with say they were very pleased with the price,work and the speed. One's roof was done in half a day and the other in one day even with the whole plywood being removed and replaced. Steven S.

When I needed a new roof this year I took 4 bids. All pretty much described the same work. The price differentials were beyond belief. Since Second Generation had been used by three of my family members in the past and they had encountered no problems, my wife and I went with them. They arrived on time and immediately went to work. Perimeter of house was covered by tarps and the old roof commenced to disappear. The materials used were top notch. The crew efficient and polite. They answered all my questions. My new roof was installed in the two days promised. It was exactly as promised.

I am holding up on the 5 Star rating only to wait and see how it holds up to a major rain storm (if that ever happens again) I am confident that we shall have no problems and if they do arrive Dale will stand by his 5 year warranty on workmanship.

Amendment: Had an unusual midwest type storm, hail heavy rains and winds. Thus my upgrade to 5 star rating. Very pleased!

I live in Santa Rosa, and it's raining. I had a bad leak my bathroom ceiling. The guys were working at my neighbors home, and I noticed they were working on the same area around their skylights. I asked a few questions, and as soon as they were done they came over and repaired mine! GREAT GUYS, and went beyond the call of duty!!
Brought back my faith in others. I'd call them in a second if I need a new roof or further repairs in the future!

Got 4 bids. Second Generation and another company were close in cost, a third company was a little more and a fourth was much higher.

Went with Second Generation based on two recommendations. I am picky and expect a company to do a professional and excellent job, no matter what the amount of the bid.

I have installed two roofs myself. I like to make sure a job like this is done to my satisfaction. Aside from some minor issues, which were dealt with, I am very satisfied with the end result. The crew was professional, friendly and helpful. The new roof looks great and should last for many years.

I have owned an apartment building up in Santa Rosa for about 10 years. For the entire time, I have known I needed a new roof, but didn't have the money to do the job. After a decade of saving, I had the money to do the job. I called 6 contractors (mostly found on Yelp) to bid the project.

Despite having a pretty clear job scope, the bids were all over the place. Dale and the team at 2nd Gen had everyone beat by a mile. They came recommended to me by another apartment owner.

Dale confirmed the time to re-roof a week in advance and met me on site. He provided me options to save money on repairing the damage. He notified my tenants for me and his crew was professional and polite.

His gutter work was great and he cleaned the apartment at the end of the job.

Second Generation did a fabulous job on our roof. I have a very high expectation of quality when I hire someone to work on my home, and I was not disappointed in any way. Dale was great to work with-- easy to talk to, listened to what we wanted/needed, and his bid was very competitively priced (we shopped around and did our homework.) On the day that the work was performed, the crew arrived on time and got to work quickly. We had new gutters installed as well. They finished the job very efficiently and cleaned up before they left. The roof is beautifully done with a ridge vent and has updated the look of our home. Such quality work! I could not be happier with the job and have no qualms giving them 5 stars. They definitely have our referrals! Dale & crew-- thanks for buttoning up our home for the winter and doing such a fabulous job.

I am as picky as they come and I was SO pleased to have this company come and give us our new roof and gutters! Every concern I had in the beginning as far as the mess or any damage to our plants, was completely gone after I saw the finished work. Dales crew came around 7 am and were gone around 4 pm. New gorgeous roof with a nice riser along the top, new clean, gorgeous gutters and they even replaced a section of rotted roof. The price was better than most we shopped for but the job was worth more than we paid. Our yard was cleaned up so well that you didn't know they were here. His crew was fast but very detail oriented. We are so pleased with the quality of service and the excellent communication we had with the owner Dale. He is a great guy to work with and he gave us exactly what we asked for. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants a top dollar job at a medium dollar price!

No idea who wrote other bids. We were recommended him by a friend who is a contractor & uses him for all his jobs. Contractor very happy with numerous roofing jobs. Drove by other sites & seemed well kept. We got 4 bids for full tear-off & re-roof. Bids ranged from 9500 to 19800 for the same work, same shingles, etc. Crazy spread. We went with 9500 second generation -- he coordinated with our gutter people and summitt electrical who installed solar panel footings while roof off. It all went perfectly, done in 2 days, all flashing was nicely tamped down and painted. Roof looks fantastic. They continually cleaned with nail magnets and brooms during the day and at the end of each day. At end of 2nd day our yard was cleaner than when they started and we had a great new roof at a fantastic price. Can't recommend enough. We extremely professional, quickly returned all phone calls, answered all my questions.
