Noel is the estimator but also works on the roof, which the other estimators we interviewed did not. He is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. These guys showed up on time, cleaned-up, didn't smoke or play loud music, and did a great job. We got 8 bids and Second Generation had the lowest price for a 30yr shingle and tied for lowest for 40yr. This was about $12k lower than our high bid! When our solar installers had to move a downspout after our roof job, Noel and a helper came out to reinstall the downspout in a new location and refused to take any payment! (We did pay the helper on the side.) It didn't take long but who does free work nowadays?
We would not hesitate to use 2nd Generation Roofing in the future. We are very pleased.

We can't recommend Second Generation Roofing enough. They are very professional and do great work from beginning to end. They installed a new roof on our house 4 years ago. This last storm was a doozy and we discovered a small leak. They came out right away and fixed it at no charge.
If you are looking to have your roof replaced, give them a call!

This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a company in the 37 years (and 8 properties I own). The most important thing I can pass on to anyone from this horrible experience, is to make sure you do most of your dealing with them via email and not on phone conversations or text, because they do no stand behind what was said or texted. In my original conversation with Jackie Farris, the office manager at Second Generation Roofing, I had advised her that the Property Management and HOA at my son's complex required that all the roofs be some sort of charcoal gray color. She sent me a pic of a charcoal GAF roof sample in an email. I responded by phone asking for a lighter gray as the 2 story peak roof home was already very hot upstairs much of the time. She responded in an email:

I found it - Georgetown Grey 50 yr. shingles and Deg. white covered gutters.
On Tuesday 10/05/21 I met with Noel (Second Generation appraiser), and paid him $10,275 in cash for the roof, gutters, and permit. I stated to him that the roof looked ""dark."" When I got home that evening I went over the pictures my son had sent me of the shingle packaging and found it was not ""Georgetown Gray"" shingles but a completely different brand (GAF) in Charcoal (GAF's darkest roof they make). This is totally opposite of what I had repeatedly discussed over text, phone and email with both Jackie and Noel, that I wanted the lightest gray roof, not black. They denied any error on their part since the contract stated ""charcoal"" under roof color. I was not concerned about the word, as Jackie and I had discussed choosing a the lighter gray color, and often were refer to the gray colors as charcoal shades as well. My email confirmed I had chosen the lightest Georgetown Gray in some other brand she email me, and they put on the blackest roof from GAF in charcoal. I am sickened by all of this. It was expensive, and they made an error they are not standing behind. My son's home will now be hot for years to come, and they could care less. I would never use this company.

These guys were fantastic! From my first conversation with Jackie to saying goodbye to the guys at the site on the last day, I was so pleased with the professionalism, work ethic, communication, and value that this company provided. Noel (the foreman/estimator) was super chill and yet works above and beyond to make sure everything is how you want it. He gave me his personal cell so I could reach out with any questions or concerns in the weeks leading up to the job and throughout the job. He came out for the initial estimate and then came out two additional times to help me figure out ordering my replacement skylights. I had shopped online at Home Depot, and I was confused about some details, so he simply stopped by again the same day that I called him, and he re-measured and looked at the Home Depot site with me. His crew was super professional and I loved how they showed up with their own shade tent and table and chairs and cooler so that they had a wonderful pop up lunch site that I wanted to join! I liked that they really seemed to know how to rest efficiently and take care of themselves, because we all know that leads to quality work and improved mood and quality of life.

The only complaint I have is that when they first started the demo some of the guys were a little excited to get started and stuff starting flying off the roof before another crew member below had fully finished laying the tarps the planter beds below, so there was a bit of a mess in one section of the yard with super tiny hard to clean bits of debris in the topsoil and a little bit in my fishpond! I kinda freaked out and they were super apologetic and totally took care of it, picking out each tiny piece so that it was like it never happened.

They have done the roofs of about 15 neighbors in our little development over the years, and they all recommend these guys except for one neighbor who doesn't like them. That particular neighbor's opinion is easy to throw out for a variety of reasons, which are actually so hilarious that I am saving that character for a screenplay I'm writing (no, seriously.)

I recommended these guys to the neighbor behind me who then had her roof done right after us and she was totally happy. Lowest price as well!

Second Generation Roofing did a great job replacing our roof. The workers are polite, friendly and conscientious. Noel and Jackie were great about communication and paperwork. The crew arrived on time on the scheduled day, and finished the roof the same day. They then did all the clean up! I'm very impressed.

Beginning with the quote and through the entire project to completion, we were pleased and impressed by their professionalism and quality of work. We found out later several of our neighbors also hired Second Generation and we're also very satisfied with the price and quality craftsmanship. Highly recommend.

When we decided to get a roof we looked at several installers. Two of the installers left an instant distaste in or mouths. And then came Noel. He sold me on Second generation, immediately.

Throughout the process, both the office coordinator, Jackie, and Noel, were quite attentive, agreeable, and helpful, with all my concerns and questions. Now, my wife and I were on vacation when I got the call to start the job, so I wasn't around to ""inspect"". It didn't matter. There was nothing that indicated they were ever here. Not a spec of material was left behind. My yard and surrounding area were spotless. The roof looks terrific. The gutter guards were appropriately mounted. The roof vents were installed. The color of the roof matched things nicely, and enhances the appearance of our home.

To Jackie and Noel, I say thank you, and a special tip of the hat, and our appreciation, to the crew. Couldn't have gone better.

Edit: Forgot to mention. 1 day to install.

They did an amazingly quick, friendly, professional, respectful job. I had to do zero cleanup !! that never happens !!! Our 1 story home (1350 sq feet) took less than 2 days and included gutters. Woop Woop

Second generation roofing did a great job on our roof and gutters! We needed a new roof on a house we bought. They had the lowest bid and were able to get the job done soonest. Communication was great starting from the beginning with Jackie. They got the roof and gutters done quickly at good quality. In the winter we thought we possibly had a leak and we called and Jackie got someone out to our house within hours. And after going into the attic and roof, and taking pictures, they showed there was no leak. Definitely impressed all the way around with this company. Would recommend this company to family and friends!
