They put a new roof on my home, replaced plywood and a 2x4x34 that wasn't in my contract and never authorized to do so. They charged me $225 for the 2x4x34 and I had to pay it because the work was already done. 6 months later the roof was leaking so I called them. They sent somebody out and the gentleman said he put tar on it and if it didn't work to call them. It did not work so I called back a couple weeks and they said they would be out and never came. My husband called after that and they said they didn't have time. Fast forward to a year later, hurricane Dorian came through and now my garage ceiling is sagging and cracking and about to fall through. I called the company and said they can fix it now or have a bigger problem. They came that day and right off the bat blamed my neighbors roof. Then 10 minutes later came back to my door and said it was my ""wall"" leaking even though you can hear it dripping and look in the crawl space and see it dripping from the roof! I explained about the guy coming before and putting tar on it, the new guy said ""oh he doesn't matter he was fired and Im the owner"" I said it did matter because he was representing his company and why would he say it was the roof if it wasn't? He said the guy never got up there and looked lol First of all how would he know? and the guy did go up there and put ""tar"" on it I ended up telling him to get off my property. Now today Ive tried calling so I can get a copy of my original paperwork and nobody answers the phone and the mailbox is full! (go figure) So I e-mailed them (the e-mail they gave when you called the number) I got an e-mail back saying this company did not do roofs, I told her its the number and contact information on my permit paperwork, Then low and behold she e-mailed me back saying, Oh that must be our ""sister"" company I was pass along the message and here is there e-mail, which come to find out is a non working e-mail. They are the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. The game they are playing is childish. It is ridiculous what I have been going through. But its ok, because now are they not only gonna be responsible for fixing my roof, but also my garage ceiling now. I was not going to make them fix the ceiling but now at this point, YES THEY ARE!!!!

Just read the other negative reviews and you'll know why I am rating them with one star. Leaks. Lack of professionalism. Shoddy workmanship. No communication. The BBB revoked their accreditation and there are negative reviews everywhere (BBB website, Yelp, Google). Have a lawyer at the ready if you decide to work with these people.

A BIG shout out to Schaper Roofing for coming in after 'others' to redo, replace and actually repair my soffit/fascia and gutter work properly (and affordably) with appropriate materials for beachside and attention to detail that is amazing in today's world of inferior work! Am truly blessed!!!! My home looks like it has been cared for by experts!! Am so pleased!!!!
Thank you Rob~ give them a call if you want it done right the first time

My husband and I recently had our roof and gutters replaced by Schaper Roofing and we are very happy with our new roof and gutters. They made the gutters on-sight.
The office manager made herself available to us and was easy to communicate with answering all our questions.
The workers were very efficient, trustworthy and very good at their jobs. The owner is very hands-on, knowledgeable and was a great guy to work with. He spent a lot of time explaining everything and made suggestions for home improvement. We highly recommend Schaper Roofing.

I am only giving one star because it is not possible to give negative stars. We are taking Schaper to court on Monday- please cross your fingers that I will receive some justice for the many thousands of dollars and sleepless nights this experience with Rob Schaper has caused. I am taking the time to write this because I don't want any other trusting homeowner to go through what I have.

I hired Schaper roofing to replace the roof on my historical home
on February 2, 2015. They completed work sometime in March. Schaper's license is held by Mr Jon Cheesbro and is CCC1328445. Schaper doesn't even hold his own license.
Shortly after replacing my roof ( about 2-3 months) I noticed during wind driven rain wewould get a leak in the master bedroom.
After 4 months of phone calling ( over 50 phone calls) I finally got Schaper to come out. He looked at the roof got inside the attic
and said it was probably the air conditioner supply lines. I called out two air conditioning specialists and my plumber and they determined there
was nothing leaking. I continued to call Schaper over the next six months to try to get him to come back out. The leak would
continue intermittently during wind driven rain in the right direction. It got worse and I noticed that I was now having issues with my wood siding rotting. Schaper finally came out again and the owner Rob said there was
nothing wrong with the roof but that he would put some extra caulk in. A member of his crew came to me and said there was a
gap between the chimney brick and the roof cement around the chimney that needed to be re-flashed. Also they just put the new shingles over old flashing and when the wind and rain went in the right direction the water would come in through the old flashing and leak inside the walls. I asked Schaper to fix this , and bought them the flashing but Schaper never returned.
The roof was now leaking badly in the master-bedroom, above the front door foyer, and along the crown molding in the living room.
After Hurricane Irma hit in Aug/Sep 2017 the master bedroom ceiling caved in and the foyer walls were damaged. Mold occurred in
the foyer and living room. I filed a claim with the insurance company but after a long and frustrating process the claim was denied because the insurance company claimed faulty workmanship. I appealed but to no
avail. Throughout this time I continued to contact Schaper but no response.
I hired an independent Florida roofing consultant to determine the cause of the leaks. We installed 50 year architectural shingles and I've since learned that when you install these properly you need stair-step flashing
Schaper didn't install any new flashing- just left the old flashing there. The report clearly demonstrated it was Schaper's poor workmanship that caused the leaks and subsequent damage. I decided to sue. Maybe it will stop them from doing this to other innocent customers.

The damage to the house was extensive. It's all been repaired and made right - but it has cost me many many thousands of dollars. I went to the City of Daytona to complain- after all Schaper passed inspection? I was there during the roof inspections and the inspector didn't even get on the roof. She had a pole with a mirror on it and waved it above roof along the porch towards the steeper part of the roof. I guess she didn't want to get on a ladder and get on the roof to do a real inspection. The Manager over Daytona's inspectors did meet with me and quickly explained that they assume no liability over the work they inspect and suggested I file a complaint with the State.

Don't let this happen to you!

Worst Roofing company EVER
I hired them to reroof my house, worst mistake I have ever made. Did not do what we agreed upon in the office. Didn't read the fine print. My mistake. Won't ever happen again. When they pulled the tarp off my roof they threw the boards in the yard, didn't remove the nails, moved siding outside my fence and I ran over. I would NEVER USE THEM EVER!!!!!!!

Worst roofers ever!! It took these guys 11 days just to tear off the existing roof on a 2800 sq ft home. They left their trailer in the yard for 10 of those days and the felt for the roof beside it in the grass (killing the grass). During the tear off, they tore off the gutters (bending them all to hell), then bent some of my fascia and broke or separated the soffits from the house. Once they did come, they messed up my tv dish on the house so badly, I couldn't even get one channel until ($50 later) Direct TV had to come out and reinstall. They told me the dish hadn't even been put back in it's original location on the roof.
It took them over a month just to come back and put on the shingles and even when they did that, it was another mess. Nails everywhere, shingle bags thrown in the trees, yard and bushes and tar on my walk way and front porch. It has now been almost three months since this nightmare began and my gutter is still on the ground and my soffits were ripped from the house by the storm because of all the gaps and tears they put in them!! Don't use these guys, seriously. They show up for work at 10 and leave at 3!! Worst experience ever.

Update::. It's been over a year and we still have leaks!! Going to have to replace an entire wall from water damage. Buyer beware!!

This company is a nightmare. When I signed my contract, they told me the job would be done in 8-10 weeks. It took 36 weeks to complete! They take a 50% deposit up front and disappear. I had to chase them for information. I was given excuses such as "" it rained"" while we were in the middle of a record drought. Or, ""you are next on the list"" and then they would never show up. The free gutter offer is bogus. They finished my roof without replacing any gutters and then told me the offer really only means replacement of one gutter. It took another month before they finally did the gutters. Upon investigation with the county, I discovered that the owner of the company had gone into bankruptcy in the past only to reopen with a different front man.My advice, stay as far away as possible. I had to get a lawyer to get this company to complete the job. If you contract with them, start with a lawyer up front.
