Kudos and the highest level of praise for Efrain. He is responsible, customer-focused, reasonably priced and warm and friendly as well. Today he and his colleague replaced several red clay tiles on my roof. I have a 30-year two-story house, and this was my first roofing repair. Obviously, it was time to do so!

Efrain also replaced some old wood and reconnected my drain pipe. Excellent work overall! I recommend him highly. He has made my Thanksgiving especially bright!

Ray Sandoval is what contractors used to be like. He's on the job checking, shows up on time, follows through and even brings his own 'potty'. Really an excellent job, finished on time, worked around OUR schedule and cleaned all the mess better than it was before!!!
Only wish Sandoval did more, plumbing, woodwork, concrete, remodeling, painting, flooring, cable --- would make all our lives easier, as he is a man of his word and does exactly as he says, when he's going to begin and finish. THANKS Ray...bunches

I didn't use them personally, but they did do my mom's roof. And from what I can see as far as the roof goes they did a phenomenal job. They even added two skylights to my moms garage which really brings out the light in garage. Almost looks like it has lights on in the day time. Plus they did it in good time, about three days and they replaced her facia boards and repainted them. They were good about clean up and took care of removal and replacing here 35 year old roof. I would definitely refer them to anyone interested in a new roof. Their prices are very fair and reasonable for all the work they did.

A job done right. Efrain Sandoval and San Marcos Roofing did a fantastic job on the roof.
First he came out and put a tarp on the roof during the heavy rain we just had to keep it from leaking during that period.
Then they were out prepping on Mon, Wed came materials and work started Thur and was done for the most part Thursday night. Some finishing touches Friday and the roof looks great. Best of all it rained hard two days later and NO LEAKS!!

Efrain and the whole team, (his son works for the company and is very knowledgeable and polite), where very respectful of the early morning start and did a great job cleaning up after the job was finished. The roof is advertising enough of the job they do, but i'll be spreading the word anyway.
Thanks San Marcos Roofing. See you again in 30 plus years!!

I am ashamed I have not given them a review. They came out and re-roofed my house and added two skylights. What an amazing job they did. The sky lights have not leaked in three years when they did the work. The estimate was quick and the crew was out on time as promised. They thoroughly cleaned up as well. Now I am going to use them again for vents. I have another house to do a roof and I can promise you I will use them again.

What a gem!!! Love this guys!

Quick version - Efrain is reliable, honest, down to earth, caring, quick, and easy to work with. Our leaks were fixed within two days of calling him, and the bigger repair on the roof was finished 3 days later. Called him on Monday, by noon on Friday I had everything fixed. I highly recommend him!

Long version - during the big storm our roof started leaking. We immediately started calling all the high rated companies here on yelp. Several said their earliest availability was in mid May?! Two months ahead! A few didn't answer the phone, we left messages but they never called back. Three other ones scheduled us for 2-3 weeks ahead. Oh well, we thought, looks like everybody else busy, what else can you do... we better put the buckets in the house and survive the next few weeks with the upcoming rain.
Appointment times came, two of them rescheduled (for whatever reason) and came few days later, and only one came on time. None of them got on the roof. Just looked from the street, and gave us verbal estimates from $800 to fix the leak, to $1800 to fix the leak and make the valley larger (because they thought we needed it), to $9K to replace the entire roof because our house was built in 2001 and you see, apparently our roof was too old and had to be replaced (and not fixed). Once again, NONE of them got on the roof!
We started calling again, this time called Efrain. He picked up the phone immediately, said he was going to come the next day, and did what he said he would. Showed up the next day and immediately went on the roof. Told me he could fix the leak immediately for $150 since it was supposed to rain that night, but he also told me that the valley had to be extended because it would continue causing problems. Said that he could fix all for $600. Done, I was sold. In less than a week we had our whole roof fixed, all 3 leaks, roof sealed, a few bricks replaced, the valley extended, and I was assured we wouldn't need a new roof for $9,000 (with using our old tiles) like the other guy suggested.

There are people and people. Efrain is one of the good people. I'd call him again if I need help with my roof again. Knowledgeable, honest, punctual, reasonably priced, and reliable. I couldn't have asked for better.

I will be to the point. Great company, unbeatable prices (had 5 different quotes) and professional service. We recently bought a house in east county the was in serious need of a roof. The work was completed in 4 days as we were told. The owner and all employees were very respectful and most impressive was that owner Efrain Sandoval was up on the roof working just as hard as his employees. I will most definitely be recommending this company to all of my friends.

My experience with San Marcos was very positive. I am a real estate broker and was looking for a bid for a client. I contacted San Marcos Roofing and their bid was 25% lower than a bid obtained by a buyer.A third bid was somewhat higher than the first. A credit was given to the buyer for half the cost and while I don't know what they opted to do, I feel that they will likely use San Marcos Roofing. The owner was friendly, knowledgeable and professional in my estimation.
