Rafael's people did an excellent job for a reasonable price, but what's remarkable is how they rallied when the ""bomb cyclone"" was suddenly announced, with bands expected in SoCal. They finished before the first drop.

Special mention for cleanliness: demoeing a roof, including the base (my old roof needed sheeting) is messy, but when they were done it was impossible to tell that a major renovation had taken place.

It took me some time since we got our roof done by Rafael and his team Mainly because we had bad experience in the past with other roofing contractors we have been having leaks for over 20 years we have a flat roof and every time we hired a contractor they kept recommending not to repair but to replace the whole roof and that will guarantee that ""the problem will not come back"" unfortunately after we spent so much money and listened to those other contractors I lost my trust in contractors
it felt like everybody's just coming to take money and just get the job done as soon as possible
it wasn't too long after we repaired and paid to redo our roof twice with different contractors that we started seeing the issues that we had in the past repeating itself
my husband got from one of his friends the contact number for Rafael when he showed up in our home I could tell the difference between him and anyone else that worked on our roof first there was no pressure to try and get us to sign the agreement right away because of some made up deals that other people convinced us they have
Rafael was very easy to communicate with and he wasn't pushy he came up with a solution to our problem it scared us at the beginning because he wanted to redo all the slopes on our roof and that was something that none of the other roofing companies had mentioned I was very suspicious at the beginning because it seemed to be a lot of money compared to what we paid in the past but Rafael explained in details what he was going to do and his guarantee was that we will not pay other than materials nothing until the end of his work
it was surprising but after we spent so much money trying to redo our roof and the problem was never solved we decided to give him a chance considering we didn't risk our money from the beginning like we had to do with the other companies we hired in the past
his crew was amazing
good people very helpful and patient and when they finished all the hard work they had to do on our roof Rafael took two garden hose to our roof and connected them to some sort of a sprinkler that kept flooding all the roof for nearly 3 hours which was great for us as the homeowner because we never even heard of anyone doing something like that and by the end of the three hours which was way more water then we will get from rain here in South California there was not even one drop of water going into our house I obviously found it hard to believe that our roof is finally done well and will keep us dry for years to come
when we saw everything that Rafael did for us we were happy to give him the final payment that he deserved so much
so to summarize our experience with safeguard Roofing I will say it was a great experience for homeowners that don't understand anything about construction and stopped believing in contractors that kept promising but never stood behind these promises especially after they got paid Rafael is an amazing trustworthy person very knowledgeable and professional I will recommend him to anyone that wants an honest contractor that can actually take care of your house as if it was his own that's the kind of feeling that I had working with Rafael and his team we keep thinking our friend that recommended Rafael to do our roof
