Within a few months of completing work, the roof leaked. Further inspection determined the sky light covers were damaged during installation. The owner Jeremy denied warranty claiming the company was not responsible for solar covers. But the covers were in good shape prior to installation. After installation, the wind blew them off. I figure the workers either sat on it as a stool or leaned on it during installation. Rain came in, wet the ceiling around the ring. I checked with other roofers, they all felt they would have been responsible and solar guys told me they see this all the time.

We contacted Safe & Sound roofing because they are local to us and are veteran owned, supposedly.
Cindi Quick came out on 8/10/2023 to give us a written estimate to vent our bathroom fans out of our attic. She was quite a talker, and very nice. A very good salesperson. We were talked into getting a solar attic fan in addition to the bathroom fans. We needed some drywall replaced on our bathroom ceilings to remove surface mold. Cindi quoted an 18""x 18"" section despite being told numerous times that the drywall dimensions were incorrect, and we wanted a larger section replaced. She repeatedly assured us that they know this and that they always OVER quote their bids to cover extra costs. We accepted the bid and signed a contract with them and then were told we needed to pay a $750 deposit and that our check had to clear before they would even get us on their schedule. Our check cashed on 8/21/2023 but didn't get on their schedule until 9/12/2023. Cindi called me on 9/6/2023 to tell me that they didn't have the Attic Breeze 25w fan we agreed on that had a rebate and lifetime warranty, but that they could get us a Kennedy 35w fan with a limited warranty. Ernesto would be able to pick this up the following day, so we reluctantly agreed on that. Ernesto came out to our home, finally on 9/12/23 around 9am. He was unaware of any drywall replacement and advised he needed to see what supplies he would require. He then left our home to go to the supply store. Shortly after he left, Cheyenne called us telling us that they needed us to sign an additional work order of $500 for the added drywall in excess of 18""x18"". Despite us repeatedly telling Cindi this both verbally and in writing that her quoted drywall size was wrong and her assuring us it was ok. We complained to the office, and they advised they would speak with the owner. The owner told them to tell us they would make no concessions for their misquote and that if they wanted us to do the work we had to pay! Wow.
Ernesto came back an hour or so later and told me that he couldn't find the gooseneck boots we would need for our metal roof and that he would need to come back the following day. We were told by Cheyenne in the office that she ordered the wrong Attic fan (that was supposedly in stock the week prior) and she was ""scrambling"" trying to find the right one. No one showed up on 9/13/23. The excuse given to us at almost 11am was that Ernesto had a family emergency despite being told he would be there at 8am. It is now 9:45am on 9/14/23, and they are not here, when we were told they would be here at 8am. We have cancelled the work and will now hire someone else. We wasted a lot of time and energy dealing with this business. How they treated us was disgusting and appalling! If you choose to get a quote from this company, be prepared to be swindled. They will lie and scheme to get your business and once you sign a contract, they will treat you like dirt. They do not care about anything but money. Do yourself a favor and hire ANYBODY but this company!

Cindi Quick is SO professional and SO knowledgeable. I didn't want to spend money on a new roof but after seeing the photos of my roof and discussing findings and options I decided I did indeed need a new roof. Cindi Quick and Safe & Sound did an excellent job, and on schedule. I'm extremely happy with my decision to use Safe & Sound Roofing.

DO NOT Use this company, there are MANY OTHER OPTIONS available for your Roofing work. I actually agree with (most of) the 5 star positive reviews
regarding S & S roofing sales people, and those helping you through the insurance process, etc.. are all very nice, cordial folks, who appear to care, and are quite helpful. Your new roof will (most likely) PASS county inspection, since there is not a 'thorough' inspection required, but if the roof does not pass inspection, and you ask questions regarding the quality of the work, beware, the 'air' will change quickly. I am a customer who watched the roof installation, questioned the quality of workmanship (new roof failed first inspection), and in the end once the work passed inspection I had a gut feeling the work may not be up to 'Safe & Sound' standards. I spoke to an attorney who suggested I hire an independent contractor to complete a thorough review. There were several defects found, and unsatisfactory work documented in the inspection report. As a result, I held final payment to the roofing company, until the defects were fixed. I was met with resistance and refusal to make the repairs from S&S. My intention was to hold the $$, and surely S&S will fix the issues, right?? No they DID NOT. Instead they filed a lien on my home. I continued to demand they fix the issues to get paid. They then flexed their big Company muscle and filed a lawsuit to foreclose on my home. WOW! Instead of doing right by the little consumer to fix unsatisfactory work, they stood firm on not fixing the defects, they would rather not talk / mediate allowing the consumer to know the 'power' they actually have per the Law (which I did not know) - they'd rather foreclose on your home - a BIG FU customer, look what we can do! See the pictures attached so you can see the shoddy work completed by S&S Roofing Consultants, LLC (I think they changed their name in the meantime, now they go by Safe & Sound Roofing). I think most will agree with me, this work is not quality. They may write a reply that I refused to pay, which I did, and that everytime they fixed something I had something else. Not true. My demand has been the same, since i received the inspector report in January 2022 - fix the defects & final payment will be made. Still - defects have not been fixed.
