I recently had my new roof installed December 2019 in the city of Bell. Shingles for the house and flat roof for my garage. The guys from S & W did an excellent job I would highly recommend them. Marlon and the guys were punctual arrived at the time they said they and cleaned up after. I was able to inspect my own roof before applying new roof. There was some rotten word that was pointed out to me and was repaired. I like the fact that I was able to see what was underneath before they installed the roof that gave me some satisfaction that they didn't put new roof on rotten wood very professional. Highly advise you stay very far away from this company. Nothing but a bunch of cheaters. They did a roof for me back in 2015 for a brand new house. They have been back 4 times since and still haven't been able to fix the issue. Not only are they not professions in their craft. But they are not professional people to big with. They ignore you, don't answer and take you through hell and back in order to get something done... something that they do WRONG. Stay far far away from sergio and his crew. Probably one of the worst experiences i have ever had as a General Contractor.

BTW, I am currently starting a lawsuit with them and will have their license and bond insurances voided. I believe they use someone else's license and insurance.

Since 2017 they are not even insured. Stay very far away from them.

Has anyone else had an issue getting a hold of anyone from S&W Roofing over the last few months? They redid our entire roof last year and recently found a hole in it and have been trying to get someone to come out to patch it before it rains. No one has responded to our phone calls, emails or texts for at least two months now.

Sergio or Ivan - please respond ASAP to Dianna and Robert from Don Felipe as this is getting extremely unprofessional as our roof is still under your warranty.

Sergio gave me a great quote and scheduled his crew around my timeline. They took off 3 layers, laid down plywood, and roofed my entire 2 story home in 3 days. These guys are good. I would highly recommend them for your roofing needs. Ricardo and Mario are the best. I have roofed my home and several other friend's homes in the past 40 years and should have hired S&W for the job. No need for other quotes.

We hired S & W in mid-July of 2018 to replace my roof in the Baldwin Hills area.

The scope of the work was to strip off all the old shingles, asses the state of the plywood and replace any rotted or damaged sheets, install new shingles and edge metal, and the removal and re-framing of an old nasty skylight.

Their proposal was professionally written and they broke out the energy star shingles as a separate line item for me so that the tax credit/rebate would be easier to attain. Their pricing was very good and they gave me a unit cost for any plywood that would need to be placed due to unforeseen issues once they ripped up the old shingles. Only complaint was their boiler plate contract stated a 50% deposit, but we worked something out between us that they would receive 25% to start and 25% after the first inspection. This is definitely more than the state law of 1% or $1,000.00 but as a contractor, bank rolling the project is hard and sometimes can lead to a delayed delivery. For this reason I elected to pay more up front and it worked out great as their delivery was timely both in material and manpower.

For our 27SQ roof they completed the project in it's entirety in 4 working days. There was a slight delay due to the LADBS inspectors canceling inspections, but I know that pain as a contractor.

I requested that S&W come back and add additional wood flashing to the enclosed back patio and to touch up a couple things and they did at not cost and even placed wood mud and primed the flashing for me on their own dime.

Overall, I was very happy with the quality, professionalism, and friendliness that S&W showed my fiance and I. I would recommend them to anyone looking for help on their roofs. Sergio and his team were really fantastic.

I would like to lower the rating based on first impressions but Yelp will not do so. I called Ruben for an estimate and discussed my requirements for a complete re-roof and made it clear that it must be permitted. He said no problem and would have his supervisor call me that day. The sup did call and said that another person would call and go do a job walk that afternoon. The walk was done with my renter and I received a quote via e-mail. THE QUOTE was weak, it lacked the basic Ca Contractors Min. requirements for a contract. The contract had no start-finish date, the deposit demand was $50% on a 11,500 job. State law is 1% or $1,000 whichever is higher and said very little about the job description. The price and dn. payment was very clear. There was no mention of a permit with the city of Norwalk. No mention of drip rails, no mention of the carport. I called Ruben and discussed my requirements and that I was not adding more to the job all I wanted was for it to be documented on paper in the contract. Ruben writes back and I quote"" Thats the price I can give you for the cant lower no more Thanks"""". In addition Ruben raised the original quote to $12,000, for what? to document my original request and protect myself . I know the recent rains have opened a door for many contractors to gouge customers many have lead times out to 2018. This is piss poor customer service and a blatant rip off.

We have used S & W and Marlon Maus for years. With this last rain, we experienced leaks on roofs that had not been repaired and because I had to go out of town to care for my elderly father, Marlon and his crew showed up at our house at 7:30 am on a Sunday! They immediately went to work - found the holes, plugged them and even a few others not on the roof to shore us up for the next rain storm. On top of that excellent work and service, Marlon pointed out major issues with our windows that need to be replaced. I highly recommend this company!
