This company is a sham. I paid them in full for the roof installation, they did not pay the materials supplier company. The supplier is now threatening to foreclose on my property unless I pay for the materials again, plus the lawyer fees. The owner Jose R. Urdaneta is a professional at robbing homeowners, there are several law suits against him and he is evading process servers. Giezi Blanco and AnaMaria Perez (managers) were always very charming and helpful, but are also in on the scams. Jose R. Urdaneta provided a release of lien for labor and materials at the end of the work, which was worthless. I now have to pay an additional $9,000 or lose my home. This LLC is inactive as of 12/3/19, but they will open another one to continue defrauding customers.

In February 12, 2018, I signed a contract with S&J Roofing of Florida, gave them a deposit of $5,200.00. The estimator told me that the project would start by the middle of March, 2018. Two weeks later, I received an e-mail from Mr. Jose Perez, the owner of the company stating that the estimator that I dealt with was no longer employed by the company, and that all questions should be addressed to Mr. Perez--listed his phone number. I called him, and he told me that everything was going to be done as agreed.
I kept on calling him every two weeks to find out about the project; he kept on giving me different dates of commencement. One time, he told me he was coming to my house and talk to me personally. I waited all day, and he never showed up or call to cancel. Up to this date, he has not returned my deposit. I reported the company to the BBB, and he never responded to them, either. This company should not be allowed to do business in Florida, for it is stealing the money from citizens. Please, please, stay away from this company, or you, too, will suffer the consequences.

Just an all around awful company. The owner Jose A Perez has opened and closed this company several times over the years.
Recently evicted from the office that they were leasing inside a warehouse.
D- rating on BBB.
Only uses subcrews for their work.
Has had multiple complaints on their business licenses with fines.
Has a historically bad reputation for taking deposits and never performing the work.

I give them 2 stars for being prompt to present an estimate, however I feel they either want to rip me off or present a high estimate because they don't do small projects. I requested an estimate to replace a flat roof of 400 square feet, they want to charge $5,800.00!

My mother used this company to re roof in Dec of 2012. This month she had a small leak in the flat roof area where the utility room is. They came within a week and fixed the roof. Highly recommend. They guarantee their work.

I used this company 10 years ago for a roof and they were wonderful.
Called them 3 months ago to get a quote - they took my 30% deposit and have been giving me the run around ever since.
The phone number (305) 887-7779 is answered by a service, and the building located at 173 W 22nd Street, Hialeah, is abandoned.

Bottom Line: This company under-delivered big time, and is not honoring their service warranty. Not recommended.

Details:

On 10/2/2013, this company inspected my flat roof and metal flashing, as well as water stain and leak marks. After the inspection, the company decided that the following work was required to remedy the issues:

1) Flat roof to be painted in white elastomeric.
2) Seal dripedge and metal flashing at flat roof area.
3) Furnish and install caulking for all metal flashing.
4) Seal (3) areas with Hydrostop water proofing system against wall, areas on walls that have evidence of cracks.

5) Seal exposed nails on shingles and all roof penetrations.
6) Pick up all loose debris and haul away.
7) One year warranty on areas worked on.

They informed us that the work would take three days. We signed the contract on 10/14/13 and paid a 50% deposit. They came on 10/17/13 and finished the job in half day, took the other 50% of payment and left.

On 10/19/13, there was rain, and we saw that the seepage along the side of the flat roof and the leaking of the metal flashing persisted, with no improvement. We asked the company to honor the warranty on their work.

On 10/22/13, Roger came back to look at the work, claimed that everything was already fixed, and left.

Since then, the leaking and water seepage have continued, and the company has stopped returning our numerous calls. They refuse to honor the warranty on their work.

I do not recommend this company. I've worked with many contractors over the past three decades, and this company has been one of the very worst experiences I've had with any contractor.

I'm still hoping for a positive outcome - but my hopes are not high. If later on, they do come back and do the work to honor their warranty, I'll add an update to this review.
