Don't trust them! They called me out of the blue claiming to be storm team help for homeowners and said I would get a new roof for free making it sound like a charity for poor people backed by the government. When the guy showed up and went on my roof he said my insurance would cover it. I asked it they would drop me and he said that it was illegal for them to drop me over a claim and that he used to work on foreclosures helping people and that he knew the laws. Then he said he would be here when the adjuster came out. Then he kept asking me if I liked the area and liked my house as though he was interested in my house. When the adjuster showed up the roof max employee was far away and said his guy was on his way to my house which was a lie. The adjuster took weeks to let me know that they were not going to pay for my roof damage and he also lied to me saying they would. Shortly after that I got a letter from my insurance company saying they are dropping me due to the condition of my roof. Then my mortgage company said they would add insurance at three times the rate I was paying or I would lose my mortgage and they would foreclose. I was able to work three jobs and pay off my mortgage rather than lose my home that my son grew up in and the roof over our head. I am a single mom and I was struggling and they tried to make me lose my house. They should be arrested and sent to jail. I pulled permits and hired my own help to put a metal roof on my house after I paid it off....it passed inspection with flying colors because I got on the roof myself and helped. I went through hell...these people are the scum of the earth. They said if my credit was good enough they would finance me and do the roof. They wanted to get my money either way and there is a good possibility that I would not have gotten the roof. This is the sleaziest scam out there!!!! After all of this I got two protection trained German Shepherds and lights around the property at night and installed 8 cameras around my property and house which monitor 24 hours a day and store it on the cloud and hard drive and one other place. I got my concealed weapons permit. I dare any scammers or thieves or vandalizers to try me now.

This company uses unscrupulous advertising methods, their sales man disappears after you commit, new salesman and owners are not true to their word, they lie and deceive customers. If you don't want to blow your pressure up and have stress don't sign with them. The don't delivered as promised and simply don't care. They aggravate you and charge three times what any other roofer would charge.

BEWARE!
Roofmax is currently holding a check from a dear friend and she's very distressed by the way they've been deceptive. They cashed her check... (she forgot to sign the check, and they said they'd give it back, but they FORGED her signature AND Roofmax cashed the check without any contracts being signed...)
BEWARE!

I recently had my roof replaced by RoofMax. I have to give them five stars because they provided excellent customer service and my roof is beautiful! When I initially met with a representative from Roof Max he was very informative. I really liked that he was not pushy. He inspected my roof and then showed me pictures of the damage. This was my first time ever getting my roof replaced. So I was not exactly sure how the process works. I had several questions. The salesman thoroughly explained the process to me. I felt comfortable and immediately gained confidence in the company. Overall I had a great experience and I have no regrets. I would recommend this company to friends and family.

I was working in my in-laws' yard when I noticed the door hanger on their door. I included a picture above but it read ""YOU HAVE STORM DAMAGE!! WE CAN HELP"" Concerned, I took a walk around and , not-so-surprisingly, there was no damage on their 3yo roof. I was upset at their deception, but let it go and moved on. A little while later, I saw the Roofmax wrapped truck working it's way down the other side of the street placing them on EVERY door, even a neighbor's who just had a new roof installed last month! Again, I let it go and moved on. Well, the ""Inspector"" saw me and approached from across the street. He handed me a business card and I began to let him know how deceptive his advertising was, that it was false advertising and a bald-faced lie. He tried to tell me I was misunderstanding it (seemed pretty straightforward to me) and that he would take the sign off the door. ""No need,"" I said, ""I can toss it myself."" I asked him if the house pictured (too dark to even see the roof, by the way) was even a house they had serviced and he couldn't answer that. At least he was honest about that. I told him it was shameful to take advantage of the older demographic that lived in the neighborhood using such deceptive scare tactics. He told me HE lived in the neighborhood. ""Even worse, lying to your very own neighbors,"" I told him. He continued to try and tell me that I was misunderstanding the door hanger. I ended the conversation telling him I understand he is just an employee and I have no idea of his level of involvement in the advertising itself, but that he is a representative of this company and has to expect some kind of scrutiny for such an over-the-top ploy. I own a small business myself and would never dream of scaring a prospective customer into calling me for service, maybe I just have basic morals. Most roofing advertising Ive seen has before and after pictures showing the quality of their work, but this company doesn't seem to have that kind of portfolio. Just a fake, darkened stock photo. Any company that introduces themselves with a lie, shouldn't receive your business and, from reading the other reviews, their deception doesn't stop with their advertising.

STOP! DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING!

My situation is almost identical to Rod C. and many other past customers of theirs that I have been speaking to.

If you are reading this review then you hopefully haven't signed anything yet.

If you have signed and it has been less than 3 business days you can cancel with no penalty by following the instructions on the back. Save your self now and cancel.

Do not sign anything with this company, they are deceptive and will lie to you to get you to sign. They will tell you that you can get your roof replaced for Free or at most $500 dollars and your insurance will pay for the rest.

They may even offer to pay you $500 out of your insurance proceeds to place their sign in your yard. This is considered insurance fraud in many states.

Do not believe them, there is no estimate on the paper you sign and they can charge you as much as they want above and beyond the amount your insurance company pays.

They purposefully avoid giving you an estimate until they have gotten you to sign. This is a red flag!

Then once you pay them to start the job, they can wait 6 months, a year, or even 10 years to do your roof because the contract waives your rights as a homeowner to have the job done in a timely manner.

The contract language on the back of the contract is most likely a violation of Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

If you already signed and can't get out, make sure the workers they hire are insured, If they aren't and one get's hurt you may end up getting double screwed. Then when the jobs done, hire a 3rd party roofing inspector to check their work and materials to make sure they don't mess up your roof.

Here's how you should proceed:

1. Contact your insurance company first. Tell them you want your house to be inspected for storm damage.
2. When the inspector is done ask for the Insurance Companies list of recommended roofers IN YOUR CITY.
3. Get 3 separate estimates from 3 separate reputable Roofing Contractors. Make sure they are actually Contractors and not just hiring subcontractors.
4. Hire the one you believe will do the best job for the least amount of money.
5. Take the claim check from your insurance company and use it to pay the company you choose.

This advice will save your thousands of dollars and ensure you get a quality roof.

Roof Max has had my homeowners insurance check since mid December. I still don't have a new roof. Each time I call I'm told it should be a couple more weeks.

Warning! Beware of this companies deceiving practices. They are currently trying to take advantage of my elderly mother who is on a fixed income. She is in poor health and the dispute with Roofmax has aggravated her condition. They sell the job guaranteeing the insurance will pay for the job and there will be no money out of pocket except the deductible. They even said they would reduce the deductible by $500 (which the sales person put in writing). Then, when the job is complete, they give her an invoice for over $3,000. To make matters worse, they broke her driveway and refuse to repair it.
