Aaron and the crew are the best. Excellent prices and quick to get the job done. They have installed several roofs for family, friends, clients and myself and we have always been happy with the service. My go to guys for anything roof related.

We are not happy with Roofmasters, and will not give positive reviews or recommendations for the company. In March of 2018, we hired them to inspect the roof of our just purchased house in Davis, CA, and give us an estimate of any needed repairs. On the day that the work was scheduled to start, no one showed up at the scheduled time. After calling them to check whether they were coming, they finally sent someone over a few hours later,
who seemed like having already worked a whole shift, and was ready to go home. He spent an hour or so on the roof, and said he was done, and left. When we told him all the work was not completed, he said he would talk to his boss and someone would get back to us.
After receiving the invoice, I asked for a breakdown of accomplished work with corresponding charges. They flatly and continually refused to give us the breakdown of their work despite our repeated requests, and demanded the full payment, ""as per estimate"". We believe, we are entitled to seeing the breakdown of charges before making payments. The Roofmasters are the only contractor we have worked with who did not provide us with the breakdown of their work. Needless to say that we got tired of hearing their justification for not wanting to give us their work breakdown, and went ahead and paid them. But, we will not hire them again in the future, and we do not recommend them.

The short: I hired them to replace my roof and install solar. I didn't choose Roofmasters because of the price (they were competitive anyhow). I was 100% satisfied with Roofmasters' quality and professionalism from the very first day.

You'll only tackle this project once in your life as a homeowner, maybe twice. More if you invest in real estate. I was overly cautious about whom to choose because I knew I would be ""stuck"" with the work for 25 years.
My project:
Tear off shingles, tear off plywood sheathing. Tear off all bargeboards/fascia. Install new ""cool-roof"" shingles, new radiant-barrier sheathing, install new bargeboards/fascia, install new gutters w/ gutter guards. As a courtesy for also doing solar, they installed three skylights and a solar attic fan (I provided these materials). Install 9.1kW system, consisting of 26 LG 350W panels, 26 microinverters, and necessary hardware, controller box, etc.
At first, I wanted to keep both projects independent. However, I realized it would be more practical to solicit bids from companies who could tackle both projects at once. I reached out the 'big names' available nationwide: SR and V. Also, locally, SC, SS, AS, GWES, RM, CRS, SS, HS, and SH. I sat through SIX in-home sales consultations and many back-forth phone calls. It was painful.

QUOTES FOR SOLAR.
About the same in the price range (no more than 5% from each other). Some companies emphasize building a system based on the offset, others present an idea and listen to any changes you want. Roofmasters was the latter.

QUOTES FOR ROOFING.
All over the place. Some as low as $5k, some as high as 18k. However, few solar/roof companies were willing to work with me down the specifics I desired. The standard bid: tear off, and re-shingle is easy to quote. However, once I brought options like radiant-barrier, replace bargeboards, etc. many companies balked or struggled to add the wording to the proposals or provide a quote within a reasonable time (within 2 weeks).

WHAT STOOD THEM APART
(1) They tackled both projects independent of each other, yet aware not to make it difficult for each crew. This model allowed me the opportunity to customize each work. Ultimately, their business strategy convinced me they were the better choice.

(2) No sales consultant meant no high-pressure environment, and no push to sign a contract without due diligence. J had Ja (solar system sales) emailed me the solar quote and developed a system based on what I desired. I met him once the contract was signed. This may NOT work for everybody -- but I'm sure we can all agree to have sales consultants at home can be cumbersome.

(3) Their proposal was 100% accurate and left NO ROOM for ambiguity or misunderstandings.

(4) They were extremely attentive and responsive to changes. Better than anybody else I got bids from. Within days, both J and Ja would send me updated proposals.

(5) Whether to drop-off a check or samples, J was always willing to have a driver come by.

(6) The roofer crew (6+) was early, on-time, and visibly alert and eager to start even at 7 am! The foreman, Mr. O with 30+ years in the roofing business, clearly showed leadership and was constantly overseeing everyone. Talk about a man with a head on a swivel. Yet, when I climbed up on the roof to chat or ask questions, he gave me 100% of his attention. He was not condescending or patronizing -- he explained in layman's terms why what I asked could not be done.

(7) The solar crew (3), was on-time and very eager to explain each step of the way. They made no assumptions about the location of anything that was within my control and worked diligently but cautious. If you ever hired electricians and framers, you know they work differently. Fr's crew was overly attentive to detail. The pictures speak for themselves.

(8) Their coordination with Ygreene, the PACE financing provider, was superb. Ygreene handles everything electronically, so everything moved forward efficiently while giving me the opportunity to review everything on my own time.

OTHER DETAILS OF MY EXPERIENCE
Up until this point, everybody else was sending ""solar consultants,"" and they were taking roofing measurements or pictures. Few struggled to answer basic roofing questions (and I'm no expert). This opportunity opened the door to misunderstandings. However, J sent Ju (A ROOFER!) to my house. Ju took measurements and made a note of all the ""extras"" I wanted (gutters, radiant barrier, cool roof, etc.). He answered my questions, made suggestions, etc. It was clear he knew about roofs.
Within a few days I received an incredibly detailed proposal with the specificity (in writing) ~ others failed at this.

SUMMARY
J has a great crew put together. They are a small company, and from day one I appreciated the candor of everyone involved. It never felt like I was 'just one more project' increasing the bottom line.

Their quote was right there in the ballpark, they gave me all the options and variables up front. When finished, no one would have known they were there - clean up outstanding!! When we finally came to a big decision of whether to get a new roof or wait for another year, we had to make sure we are going to get the right people for the right price. I spoke to atleast 3 company around the area and my decision to choose Roofmasters is based on 3 critical points. First, did the quote they gave me is reasonable and affordable. Second, Proper communication with their customer which includes honesty in explaining the process such as inspection, replacement of dry rots, and an additional attic insulation. Third, how they presented the products and the labor that is required. I am just impressed with the way they handled my inquiries. I am a nurse and don't know anything about roofing, but all my questions were answered with simple explanation and clarity. Anyways, Roofmasters met all my criteria. The project was completed in 3 days, the outcome was awesome, and we now have a peace of mind that we've made the right decision in prioritizing our roof over these multiple projects that needs to get done. And of course, finding the right people who can accomplish it. Justin was the first guy that did the initial assessment and did a good job in answering our inquiries. Jonathan was awesome in explaining the detailed work in writing. The workers were efficient and always cleans up at the end of the day. Finally, a beautiful new roof for the next 40 years!

Roofmaster did my roof July 16-17 2018. They are very fast, very friendly, and always on time to start the job. Customer service was great and always give me a call back if they are not available. I think they have the best warranty out 3 roof company that I talked to. I am very pleased and satisfied to the work they did to my roof. My roof looks great. I've been pleased with Roofmasters work on 4 or 5 projects over the past 9 years. I first hired them for my folks house and then again on projects for my clients as a remodeling contractor. Their bids are concise, include possible add ons and extras, upgrades, and notes and information about what to expect if rot is found after tear off. In my experiences their crew works fast but carefully, gets things done on time, and always responds to questions in a timely manner. They're considerate of client requests and changes, and are pleasant on the phone and in person. Happy I use them every time! Thanks guys!

I am very please with the quickness of the job and my roof looks great. I had a double roof so day 1 was removal. Day 2 was replacing the dry rot wood and putting on the new roof. Everything was finished by 2pm. It was like magic, done in 2 days. The workers showed up early and were polite. I gave them access to power from my garage and went to work. Already received a compliment from a car passing by my street. Like many of the other reviews I received several quotes from other companies and I decided to go with RoofMasters. Their quote was reasonable and Johnathan was a great help. He even informed me about programs funded by the government. The rain caused some delays as I was scheduled for mid March but was pushed back to early April. I will be recommending their services to all of my friends and family.
