Founded in 1958 by brothers-in-law Sid Strand and Bill Van Velzen, Roofing Service Company began in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In 2014, Tracy, the granddaughter of Sid, and her husband, Travis Kerner, set out to uphold their legacy in Lincoln, NE. Building on our success in Lincoln, we established our latest branch in 2020 to offer the same quality experience to homeowners in North Texas.

We focus on straightforward communication and the principle that homeowners deserve accurate installations for flawless performance. We’re not aiming to be the largest roofing contractor; we just want to get it right! We are proud to be ShingleMasters certified by CertainTeed, a premier roofing manufacturer, and we consistently uphold an A+, 5-star rating with the BBB.

Lane became part of the Roofing Service Company team after spending six years with a Texas-based roofing distributor. Before entering the roofing industry in 2014, Lane earned his Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. In the DFW area, Lane and his wife, Chelsea, enjoy life with their golden retriever, Lola.
