Shoddy work or dishonest practice, I don't know which. When we bought our house last year, they told us the roof needed flashing. We said sure. Then we had leaks and they couldn't figure out where they were coming from but said the roof was fine.

Now our entire office is flooded and it looks like the ceiling is about to collapse. The flashing should have prevented this. Thanks, Roof Doctors!

I had a great experience with John who completed a ""complete tear off"" new roof project a couple weeks ago. I received four roof bids and selected the Roofing Doctor because of availability, cost, and a recommendation from someone else.

John and his team (who has worked with him for a long time) came out and started the work on the agreed upon date and worked tirelessly until the job was done. The finished work is excellent and it's already been tested with the fist storm of the winter.

At times I found communication to be a bit spotty in the early stages, and I would not say that the crew was impeccably clean (although I've never lived through a complete roof replacement before) but the cost and quality of work are the two criteria I care most about.

John runs a quality honest business and I'm thankful to have found him.

A friend just asked me who did my roof so I decided after 2 years this review needs to be done! I spoke with about 5 different companies. John came out and gave me the estimate. It was half the price of the next one. Cheaper is not always better except in this case.

I had to wait to sell my van to have enough money so it was a few months later when they came back. They kept in contact with me throughout this time.

I thought I needed a complete tear out because of the leaks and condition of the existing roof. He said it would be 1500 more but let's wait to see what it looks like first. He could have charged me for that and done the work but he was honest and said it was fine except a few places which he fixed with no additional charge.

Great price and honest. What more could you ask for? They were also nice and cleaned up daily beyond my expectations. So 2 years later, no leaks and it looks great!

Pls. Think twice before you hire this old Korean guy to fix your roof, first of all, he might charge you a bit cheaper from other people, then when you agreed, he will show up early in the morning along with two Mexican guys, he spent 5 mins with them, explain the issues and he is gone till noon time, drop off two to go boxes to feed the poor Mexican guy, he will then come back again to collect the money at five. I paid him 2000 dollars to changed a few pieces of the plywood and few pieces of the roof clay and when he received my check, he asked for a few $20 in cash, I guess he is using that $$ for the workers. When the job was done at 5pm, I was rush to picked up my kid from school therefore I did not inspect his job properly, I found out some missing nails on the clay the next morning, called him, he promised to stop by, I waited three hours he never show up, I called again, he said he only have time on Saturday, will come b4 4pm, guess what?? He never show up either, he also charged me $250 for gutter cleaning, but I don't see him doing it and I don't know how to check his job since is on the roof! The check was cashed, he do not care anymore!!!!! Today it was raining, my gutter never came down any water and the rain was coming down from the side of my roof, my husband called him many times, the 70 years old man did not respond!!!!

Roofing Doctor truly is the doctor for your roofing needs! I own 3 residential properties in the bay area and 1 had major work to be done. Mr. Song arrived promptly and gave me a fair estimate compared to the other 3 I had already received. They did major work working in the hot sun with tar and all that. Long story short, the work turned out great and because they've been around so long they gave me some tips that will help me in the future! Will definitely be calling them if my other properties need any work done.

Roofing Doctor installed a skylight tube & a solar powered roof fan before the busy July 4th weekend. Tar & asphalt flat roofs require old world skills (Remember the scene from Shawshank Redemption when the men were drinking beers?) - dragging a butane tank, firing up a torch, & adding a layer is not a DIY project. They get things done!

2 experiences with this company.

The first time around, the BF met with John the roofer to take a look at the leak coming from my garage. He determined there was no evidence of a leak, Disregarding the staining on the ceiling and water on the floor.

The second time around occurred earlier this week. I rushed home to my 1pm appointment where I saw the roofer leaving my house already. I flagged him down where he immediately told me he is very busy , has no time, and already looked at my roof. He said I needed to replace a vinyl panel and for sure that was the route the water was getting into the house. Again he said he had little time, and my other questions were brushed off. He said it would take a while to look into my replacement panel.

I spoke with Tony later that afternoon who always carried a professional demeanor via phone and emails. This was the reason I called the roofing Doctor back although they brushed off that there was any evidence of leaking the first time. Tony assured me a follow up call later that day, Monday, not the next day. He also told me John is an expert with 30 years of experience. I really wanted to have a good experience here, but I felt that this company did not care about the damages to my house, and did not want to waste time fixing it. All I want is an honest company to fix the leaking to my house, and this company was apparently does not want to be the one.

I never received a call back later that day, and I had to call back 2 days later. They could not locate the vinyl panel for my 30 year house.. Thats' it and good luck to me.

More rain is on the way, and I am frantically calling around looking for someone to fix the issue as soon as possible.

I created spreadsheets analyzing about a dozen roofers in the area and, after lots of comparisons and analyses, I settled on the Roofing Doctor because they had the best price with no discernible comprimise in quality. It's also great dealing with John, who is on-site much of the time and there to solve issues, for example, when some dust from the old roof removal fell on a neighbor's car. He made that problem go away fast.

The one difference between this operation and others is that most others offered a 10-year warranty on workmanship, whereas the Roofing Doctor only offered a 5-year warranty. Given the financial savings, however, I accepted this risk and am very satisfied with the results. Of course we haven't had any rain in a long time.... :)
