Unlicensed roofers are not only illegal but unfair to licensed contractors who worked very hard to become licensed. There is nothing stopping someone who is unlicensed to just walk away from a job leaving homeowner unprotected. Buyer beware.

Got this Guy through Craigslist-

Started-
with a low bid but add-ons brought it up to the same as Northern Pacific Roofing. Lots of the finishing touches are not done well and very disappointing. The gutter sags UNEVEN several inches right in front of the kitchen window OBSCURING THE UPPER WINDOW TRIM ON A SLANT--it looks really crappy. I just paid him and was done with it since I wasnt ready to deal with nasty behavior and requests for more money. I will have to have the gutter re-done..................by someone else (Jorge just finished the job today)--so I was left with something UGLY that needs to be re-done.

Once they deliver materials and tear off your roof you are at the mercy of whatever add-ons and whatever price they state---look out for that----I felt add-ons were over priced but had no choice---I PAINTED 30 FEET OF GUTTER MYSELF SINCE HE WANTED $800 TO PAINT IT.

Always better to hire a company than these average joes with nasty edges that are not flexible. He should have consulted me about how I felt about a sagging uneven gutter in front of the kitchen window. I also would have liked to be consulted in reference to the color of the gutter in advance so that issues over painting it could have been resolved in time for the paint to dry. No Gutter would have been better than the gutter Jorge put in. It just looks plain ugly and on a slant. I am so not happy.

It is easy enough to adjust the fascia alignment in order to compensate for an old house. They were just too lazy to bother and slammed the fascia on and then the gutter went on crooked way slanted over my kitchen window. Of course the response was a way to make more money off me. Proclaiming the problem to be that the roof needs all new framing. All that needed to be done was to adjust the slant of the gutter and the fascia. He thought I was stupid and would believe some stories. I saved 10 years to pay for this roof. They left my house looking ugly. The gutters are very far from professional and will have to done over by someone more competent than Jorge Maldonado.
