Frank and Carl came out in Feb. 2023 to take a look at our tile roof, in particular 2 small leaks. Their conversation was how we needed a new roof, asking if the underlayment a membrane or felt paper, that there was no bird proofing, and that tile was laid out wrong (please LOL).
As a guy that worked for 42 years in construction and owned a tile roofed ( that I personally roofed, this was a sales job that frankly I didn't need.
After I got the quote to fix the leaking areas, I tried ro schedule the repairs between rain storms. Guess what the only dates available it was pouring so I did not allow any work to be done in the rain.
I waited a few months for the rains to end and never received a call to reschedule the repairs, so I canceled the job and stated that we could revisit it in the early fall.
Early Sept. 2023, I emailed Roof Tile Spec. to reschedule the repairs and was told the the price would increase to which I said just send me the new cost and lets schedule the work.
Three emails and two phone call later there is no updated price or a schedule.
I guess they don't want my simple repair job and honestly they should have been honest and said so.
I'm using another contractor who was honest and didn't try to sell me a new $75k to $80k re-roofing job and is repairing my leaks and doing a complete roof maintenance for a fair price.

We had some repairs done to our roof. The job was completed in a timely fashion however the final bill was a shock.

They put in their contract dry rot will be charged at $125/hr per a worker. However they never updated us or advised us that they encountered dry rot.

Carl and Frank came about a week after completion and advised there was dry rot and it was an additional 25 hrs due to dry rot, which with materials was over $4,000 over the contract price.

For the work I can see it looks wonderful - however as most people can imagine I was shocked at the final amount over contract.

They need to communicate better with customers especially if the contract amount increases at such a rate that might be hard for some homeowners on a limited budget!

Roof Tile Custom Specialists is an absolutely amazing roofing company! We are so glad we went with them because they have competitive prices and the professionalism and efficiency of their team is phenomenal. Their team was incredibly patient with us and even gave us tips and advice on which type tiles to pick for our roof. Frank and Carl are VERY knowledgeable in the field and regularly updated us on the progress of the job, as well as letting us know of any problems they found that needed fixing. Martin and his crew replaced our entire decades-old roof in a little over a month. They swept up and cleared any debris before they left for the day and I swear our yard was the cleanest it's ever been!

Big thank you to Frank, Carl, Martin and his crew, and Cara for being an amazing company and doing such a phenomenal job on our new roof! We'll definitely be recommending Roof Tile Custom Specialists to our friends and family!!

We had a leaking clay S tile roof. In short this company checked out our roof and advised us what was needed to stop the leak. They took pictures of the problem areas and indicated what was needed to fix them. The pictures Roof Custom specialists, Inc. took proved to us that the person who installed our clay tile roof lacked knowledge in the proper way to install the tile. This company with 40 years experience removed and reinstalled our roof the way it should have been done originally. Martin the lead roofer with 20 years experience was at our house 5 days a week for 3 weeks with a crew until the job was done.

Carl, Frank, Cara, Lupe and the rest of the crew are true professionals. They are responsive, patient and deliver what they promise. No one, other than RTCS are allowed on my roof.

Frank and Carl are the ""go to"" guys for tile roofs. We had a leak in November when the first real storm hit. They were on it immediately. It turned out to be an extensive repair and they handled it efficiently and professionally. Their crews cleaned up every day, there was no trash anywhere. These guys know what they're talking about. Carl's been around quite a while, and his grandson has taken over the business. I would have written this sooner, but have been waiting for a deluge to comment. Not happening, but they did give me a 10 written warranty. Definitely would use again.

I just learned from a new roofer what a crappy job they did on my roof, including using all different colors of tile knowing that I would never notice. However, my poor neighbors did as they have to look at it. They also diagnosed another problem incorrectly and wanted to overcharge me about three times the amount needed. I've got an honest roofer now (yes licensed and bonded) and will never return to these jokers. The grandson of the owner is slime all the way. The owner might have been honest a long time ago but not anymore.

Frank and Carl run a company that has that rare combination of technical expertise and superb customer service. I am not sure about the price relative to other firms, but when it's your roof, you really need it done right the first time. Their employees are dedicated and have many years of experience. They left my place clean and made sure that I was satisfied at the end. Plus, I had a blast just hanging out with Frank and Carl.

You can't go wrong with these guys!

We just moved to a new house and the inspectors said there were a couple tiles broken. Since there was a warranty on the roof, the previous owners called, and emailed, multiple times to get the tiles fixed.

No response.

We moved in and I had called and emailed multiple times, to have them come out and, and after multiple calls and emails they finally came out to inspect, just as I was leaving. I could not stay so I asked them to call me with status.

After a couple days with no response I called them, and waited for a call back, which I did receive finally. They gave me bad news saying that there were a lot of tiles that were caulked together, which is not good, and that to fix I would probably need the whole roof replaced! Which is strange since I was told that they were the only company that had worked on the roof. So I asked for a detailed report with this information, and pictures, in it so I could go back to previous owners for some clarity.
This bad news was baffling to me since the home and roof inspections that we had done by other companies did not mention anything about the supposed caulking issue.

Again no response. Multiple phone calls, ""how can we make you smile?"", and emails later still nothing, no email or call. Last contact was to just get someone to come out to talk in person and show me the issue and nothing!
This has been going on for two months now and I am done with them.
I can not comment on their work, but if it is anything like their lack of communication, it is not good. They probably ignore warranty work since they do not make any money on it.  I do not know how they are still in business.

Frank, Carl and their crew helped us repair several long-neglected and quite compromised sections of our clay-tile roof just about a year ago. We ran into pretty much everything that you might expect to find wrong...rotted substrate, holes for rodent entry, seams that leaked, many many broken tiles, dry rot, and mold extending down onto exterior walls due to a failing roof system. Through each phase of the project, Frank or Carl were straightforward, transparent, and patient in showing/explaining what they found, and discussing options. When we needed to replace gutters, they helped us source multiple vendors and get to the best value solution. Our roof tiles are barrel-style, from the 1930s, tapered, with different shapes for the pans and covers. When we needed to get more tiles (due to so many broken), Carl found comparable replacements (but not before trying to save money by modifying newer, cheaper replacements). The project went above budget because none of us anticipated the degree of dry rot and wall damage, but the guys worked with us to explore alternatives and find best solution. We're getting ready for our second rainy season following the work, and are confident we will be dry and secure once again under their handiwork. Old-school clay-tile roofs require old-school craftsmen, and these folks are the best.
