Roof Doctors was established in 1987 by Adam Wilfley and Chris Wilfley. Our service area includes the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, and the Central Valley, encompassing counties like Sacramento, Placer, Yolo, El Dorado, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Alameda, Contra Costa, Solano, Napa, Sonoma, Marin, Fresno, Madera, Tulare, and Kings.
No other roofing contractor in Northern California matches our record in inspecting, repairing, and certifying roofs or addressing roof leak challenges.
We ensure that our customers are completely satisfied with our work. Our clients are not billed until their project is finished and they are fully content with our service. We confirm that all work meets our high standards before invoicing our clients.
Founded in 1987, our primary focus is on roof inspections and repairs rather than complete re-roofs. Our free inspections enable clients to save money during the often costly transactions of home buying or leak repairs. We encourage our clients to think of us for repairs if they are needed. Roof Doctors also provides a unique two-year certification warranty. This approach carries some risk as it depends on the quality of other installations, which can sometimes put us at a disadvantage. Some problems may not be apparent during a visible inspection, resulting in leaks that could occur later. However, when leaks do occur under certification, we re-inspect the roof to identify the cause, determine if it’s roof-related, and repair it at no cost if it is. We are proud to have an A+ rating with the BBB and to be an Angie's List Super Service Award winner, showcasing our dedication to outstanding customer service. With more than 30,000 customers served each year, we are the top roof inspection company in Northern California.

I thought I had a leak in the bathroom and would need some roof repair so I asked for a free estimate. After I received an inspection they told me that they thought the issue was a ventilation problem in the bathroom. They also pointed out some areas on my roof that I should pay attention to and regularly maintain. They didn't try to sell me anything and said that my roof was installed properly and it would last for years to come with proper maintenance. Thanks!

I got a bid to repair a small leak in my 19 concrete tile roof. I was surprised at how much it was but I had to get it done as I was selling my home. The guys showed up 4 days early without any notice but that was okay. After 2 hours work I rcvd a call telling me they had underbid the job and also found a little more damage and I was going to have to pay another $750.
Needless to say I was infuriated. The little extra damage to the plywood made the repair site about 3' X 2'. They only had to replace that small piece of plywood and caulk the wood. They replaced a bunch of felt over the wood and a few other areas. They replaced 2 valleys with larger aluminum valleys. That's all.
They are crooks, plain and simple. $2675 for 2 men working 4.5 hours, some aluminum valleys, some felt, caulk, nails, and small pice of plywood. What a joke. BEWARE OF THEM. THEY GUVE YOU A LOW BID AND THEN RIP YOU OFF ONCE RHE REPAIRS ARE STARTED!

Roof doctor did a roof certification for our son on his first home purchase. But they refuse to do any repairs when shingles blew off during a storm. Worst roofing experience ever. Gave us the run around that they wouldn't honor the cert because sellers or selling agent didn't pay. House Contract has copy of roof Cert with home papers. They want to charge to come out to look, then charge again for repairs. How is this a roof certification?! If you know the roof isn't in good standing, then don't certify it and lead new homeowners on. If you see their name...RUN!!!!

Horrible experience.
They came out during our escrow to do a roof inspection. We were emailed the report stating that our roof was certifiable ""as is"" no repairs needed at this time and gave us an option to purchase a 2 year warranty.
Home inspector came out and pointed out SEVERAL issues with the roof. We got a second opinion. Second inspector came out and stated that there were several issues with roof flashings and colliers(sp). And was quoted about 6-700 in repairs.
Called Roof Drs back basically saying, ""ummm, what the heck you didn't say anything about issues and now we are in the middle of escrow"" I asked about their certification and what it covered. They said that I would have needed to buy the warranty for coverage ($250).
Well, 250 is a lot less than 6-700 so I said, ""I'd like the warranty on the service you provided on 2/13/19 stating that my roof was certified and you provided me a quote for the warranty""
They stated that I could not buy the warranty. And that if I did it would not apply to the service they provided.
Basically, it boils down to the fact that they did a hack job they don't want to certify their work that they said was certifiable.
And now we are in a position where we need to get our roof repaired with little time due to our escrow closing soon.
Don't use this company. The inspections are clearly not quality. Their customer service told me to call the inspector. The inspector is upset saying that he has to do 17 houses a day and doesn't know when he will be able to come back and reinspect and tells me to call the reception again to schedule. Back and fourth back and fourth.
Very frustrating situation. Avoid if you can.

We got in touch with Roof Doctors through our home warranty program Firs American, to come fix a leak in the roof. Allen (Alan?) and one other technician came over to the house and without taking more than a 3 second look at the leak concluded that it was the skylight that was leaking and when I suggested that it might be a different problem, said ""since you are the expert, this is now your problem."" And they just walked out of the house rudely without taking care of the problem, which I believe is fully under warranty. This is the absolute absolute worst service I have ever experienced from a contractor. I would give them zero stars if there was such an option.

Absolutely terrible experience. Crooks! Crooks! Crooks! They wanted $3300 to replace a few shingles that a contractor fixed and warrantied for $220. They also asked me to sign an agreement with them that would've forced me to pay them even if they didn't do the work. These guys are deceptive and shysters. Stay away. Zero stars.

This review is late but needs the be done. I purchased my house in Jan 2018 and the Roof Doctors did the inspection. They did some minor repair work equaling to $450. Then the rain started and I had a leak in my sunroom that caused some damage to the room. I called them back and was charged $65 to have someone come out and look at the roof again. The repairman was on the roof for maybe 20 minutes. The repairman told me that some nails had not been hammered flush to the tile and water was seeping in. He said he hammered some down but that I should get up there and nail the rest down. (This aggrevates me the most to this day and that is why I take the time now to write this review). I did get myself on the roof, I'm a 5ft women and I'm terribly scared of heights, and I noticed the nails right away. The person who did the first inspection should have saw the nails, they were very noticable. Then to be told to finish the job by the second repairman. I will be going elsewhere for roof repair and maintenance in the future.

Roof Doctors is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TRUST MY REVIEW AND ALL THE OTHER 1 STAR REVIEWS!!!!! I did not trust them and instead trusted the five star reviews, which was a HUGE HUGE mistake!!!!!
The inspection is a SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!! They ""inspected"" my roof while I was home and claimed I was not!!!! When they arrived the only reason I knew they were here was because I heard someone on my roof. Because they were on my roof, I went back inside to wait until they came back down, thinking they would ring my doorbell and talk to me after. Before I knew it they were gone.
I then get the estimate which was $2200 to fix ""recommended"" repairs. No signs of leaking or nothing major. I opted to do the repairs just to stay on top of everything. HUGE MISTAKE!!!!!
The worst part about getting a roof repaired is that you do not know if the repair was done or not until it rains and there is a leak. Which is what happened to me. 4 days after Roof Doctors completed the ""recommended"" repairs my roof started leaking in 6 different areas!
When I called Roof Doctors and told them about the issue there response is that I would have to pay $65 for a brand new inspection!!!! Mind you I purchased the certification and the warranty.
I opted to make the appointment anyways because I needed to speak to someone face to face about why I spent $2200 on a roof that is now LEAKING!
Ellis is the inspector who they decide to send out. Ellis appeared to be professional at first, however that quickly changed. Ellis starts the conversation off by saying hello and that he is there for a roof inspection.
You can only image how upset I was to hear this as Ellis was not there for a brand new roof inspection, but there to figure out what Roof Doctors did wrong. I quickly figured out that Ellis had no knowledge on my situation and did not even know that I had repairs done on my roof at all by Roof Doctors.
Ellis continues to admit to me multiple times that ""HE DID NOT DO HIS HOMEWORK"" and that he did not have any answers to the majority of my questions because he did not read my file prior to coming to my residence. He also stated that the rude customer service I received on the phone while attempting to make that appoint was ""irrelevant"" and that he believed that I was ""not telling the truth.""He believed that the leaks were not there prior to my roof inspection by Roof Doctors.
Not only did Ellis call me a liar inside of my own home he then decided to pull out his cell phone and text while I am voicing my concerns. This dismissive behavior was UNBELIEVABLE and should not be tolerated by anyone. Especially not in your own home. It took me a week and 1/2 just to get that appointment and this is how I was treated. Ellis was completely rude and unprofessional.
Ellis then continued to say again that ""HE DID NOT DO HIS HOMEWORK"" prior to coming to my residence and that he has to speak with his boss to figure out what happened. Ellis should realize that there are plenty of people in the world with jobs that require them to be prepared, or as Ellis puts it, ""DO THIER HOMEWORK, every time they show up to work or people die or could get hurt. (ie a nurse, cop, surgeon, firefighter, etc) I understand that Ellis may not take his job serious enough to ""DO HIS HOMEWORK"", however people are giving Roof Doctors thousands of dollars and expect to get their moneys worth or at bare minimum have employees that work for Roof Doctors ""Do THEIR HOMEWORK"" prior to arriving at a job.
Approximately 20 minutes later Ellis calls me and tells me that there is nothing he can do and that Roof Doctors is not liable for the multiple things that went wrong during the business transaction.
It was clear as day to me that Ellis had no interest in the fact that I got SCAMMED and was only worried about his next job, where he was probably scamming someone else along with the Roof Doctors Company.
If you use Roof Doctors make sure you have a lawyer handy ready to sue! Because this company is a HUGE HUGE HUGE SCAM!
Please I am pleading with you DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I do not want to see one more person get skrewed by them. Especially if you do not have a lawyer.
PS I would have gave NO STARS if I had the option.

We had a leak in our roof and we decided to get a quote from roof doctors. They came out within 48 hours and inspected the roof. I received the email with the estimate shortly after and was able to set up a date for the repair. Every time I've had any questions or needed answers, the staff was been very professional. I'm surprised others have rated them so low because my experience has been great. We got the roof leak repaired a couple of weeks ago. We'll see how it holds up, but the customer service so far has been exceptional.

Thank you Roof Doctors for your excellent response time and customer service! Running rental properties and selling real estate I will continue to use your company! I feel confident referring you guys to my costumers! Also Craig and Mckay have given nothing but excellent service!
