Company Overview

Since our inception in 1987, no other company in Northern California has inspected, repaired, and certified more roofs than Roof Doctors. In simple terms, we are your roofing specialists. Our commitment to excellence shines through in every task, as we offer extensive service for repairs, leaks, and certifications. We kick off with a complimentary inspection and an in-depth report, pinpointing every concern with your roof, including the smallest cracks. Next, our dedicated team begins the repair process, guaranteeing your roof is restored to its best condition. With our low-price guarantee and dependable warranties, there’s no reason to look elsewhere—let Roof Doctors handle it all.

Roof Doctors was established in 1987 by Adam Wilfley and Chris Wilfley. Roof Doctors operates in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, and the Central Valley, serving counties including Sacramento, Placer, Yolo, El Dorado, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Alameda, Contra Costa, Solano, Napa, Sonoma, Marin, Fresno, Madera, Tulare, and Kings.

No other roofing contractor in Northern California matches our record in inspecting, repairing, and certifying roofs or addressing roof leak challenges.

Customer satisfaction is our top priority. We do not invoice our customers until the job is done and they are entirely happy with our service. We confirm that all work meets our high standards before invoicing our clients.

Founded in 1987, our primary focus is on roof inspections and repairs rather than complete re-roofs. By providing free inspections, we help clients save money during the costly process of purchasing a home or fixing a leak. If repairs are required, we hope our clients will choose us for the job. Roof Doctors stands out with our exceptional two-year certification warranty. This approach carries some risk as it depends on the quality of other installations, which can sometimes put us at a disadvantage. Certain issues may not be visible during a roof inspection, leading to potential leaks down the line. However, when leaks do occur under certification, we re-inspect the roof to identify the cause, determine if it’s roof-related, and repair it at no cost if it is. With an A+ rating from the BBB and recognition as an Angie's List Super Service Award winner, we demonstrate our commitment to superior customer service. Serving over 30,000 customers annually, we are the leading roof inspection company in Northern California.

Scam alert! Selling our home and they came out and were 1,000% over the other roof inspection bids! They prey on those customers who do not understand roofing repair costs, or are limited on time for repairs (such as our case). Do NOT use!

Roof Doctors came out to conduct an inspection prior to the purchase of our home last fall. They made a few (minor) recommendations (around 2500$) which we did not pursue at the time because they were not imminently urgent. Along the lines of caulking around the fireplace/vents, repairing some rot around the eaves, and fixing some issues with the roof over the carport. They estimated we had five years or so left in the composite roof's lifespan prior to replacement. We were happy with that and planned to fix the other issues in the Spring after saving up some cash.

Fast forward to May, and we notice a few leaks in our attic after the wet winter. Still not a huge deal at the time, but as we had just replaced our attic insulation we were hoping to have these patched up. So, we contacted another roofer and within five minutes of being on the roof they indicated that our entire roof needed to be replaced, also stating that ""no city inspector would ever certify this"", because the original wooden shingles were on the bottom, with two layers of composite shingles on top of that. Explicitly against building code. Unclear how any professional roofer would miss this glaring problem.

Fortunately these other folks are going to be able to make these repairs, but had we known this was the case, and the associated price tag when we purchased the home (i.e. when Roof Doctors completely botched their inspection) we probably would have tried to negotiate a discount on the home's price.

Needless to say, we won't be requesting any more inspections from Roof Doctors, and we suggest you look elsewhere, even if your realtor suggests them.

I am a licensed Realtor and use Roof Doctors to inspect homes for me regularly. Roof Doctors does inspections for free, so you'd think they would overbid jobs to make their money that way, but that's NOT the case. I routinely list homes and have buyers agents recommend Homeguard inspections to their buyers which really frustrates me, because THAT company is a scam. Homeguard charges for a roof inspection and they still always find repairs needed, they've never seen a roof they didnt want to ""fix"". I always have to call Roof Doctors to come out for a second opinion because I know they will find anything that needs fixing, it's in their interest financially to find repair work that's needed, but I also trust them completely not to make up false issues in an attempt to make money. On several occasions, no repairs were recommended, which means they get no money out of the inspection. Thats honesty! That degree of honesty is not something I've ever seen from another roofing company. When I call RD for a second opinion, their quoted repairs are often 30% to 70% less than what was quoted by the scammers at Homeguard. I highly recommend calling Roof Doctors if you need your roof inspected or repaired.

Just because you don't like my review BRETT it doesn't mean it's not accurate, and my review is just as valid as Julie P's the few five star reviews your referencing on this page. You have reported my review to get my review deleted, been rude in private messages to me, and are now disrespecting my opinion. Why don't you leave me alone already!!!! I posted my review and how I felt now let it go!!!!

When we originally purchased our home, we called Roof Doctors to inspect our roof prior to purchase. Roof Doctors found multiple issues with our roof, but when we proposed the fix to the sellers, they requested that we do another inspection with a different company. We followed the seller's request and the second company said there were no issues with our roof--this was our biggest regret.

Fast forward two years later, we found a major leak that went through our garage ceiling. We called Roof Doctors back, because we realized that we made a huge mistake by choosing the other company to inspect our roof. The Roof Doctors had our inspection report saved, and was promptly able to come over to reinspect and fix all of the issues that they had previously noted, in addition to making sure that no additional problems had occurred in the meantime.

We are so happy we originally chose Roof Doctors, and are still kicking ourselves about not going through with them the first time around!

Do not use this company! They do not honor quotes and charge over $300 per hour for very basic roof repair. They know you need to close a real estate deal and take total advantage of that. Find a reputable vendor and this is not it!

I called Roof Doctors to schedule an appointment for an inspection on a home that has visible damage from a leak. We had planned to use Roof Doctors for the repairs once we received the report back and found out the extent of the damage. I scheduled the appointment for the next day and the scheduler asked that I call Anthony, the inspector, first thing in the morning so he could give me a 30-minute window of when he'll be there. I don't live nearby so I wanted to make sure that I'd have time to get out there to meet him. I called in the morning as instructed and spoke with Anthony who sounded very irritated and explained that he's got 17 inspections lined up and he can't possibly give me an idea of what general time he thinks he'd be there. I explained that I have another appt from 10-11am but would be available for the rest of the day and was hoping for just a general idea of if it might be morning or afternoon. He then let me know that he's all over town and he DOES NOT backtrack so I need to be available whenever he calls with that 30-minute window or I'll have to reschedule. I totally understand that roofers are busy with all this rain we've had but as a real estate professional, I simply don't have time to sit around all day and wait for someone to call. With just about any other company, you get at least a 2-3 hour window of time as to when they'll be arriving and that's really all I was asking for. Needless to say, I canceled the appointment and went with another roofer who gave me an appointment for 9am the next day. He was super friendly, on time, did a free inspection, and is now scheduled to make the $6k in repairs this week. Sadly, I was warned against Roof Doctors by several agents in my office but I wanted to give them a shot. Sadly, Roof Doctors is not a company I'll be calling again in the future.

We've been having the same issue every winter. Roof doctor kept sending someone every time it rains but unfortunately they haven't fixed it yet. Initially, the leak was at one stop when we first called the company in 2016, however now it's all around the room and it has damaged the ceiling. I reached out to Northern California Roofing Company. They have good reputation.
Initially, The leak was at one spot near the door however now it's all around and the ceiling damaged. I will have to call CA Licensing Board to complaint. I gave them chances to get it right, unfortunately they couldn't get it right .......

We were purchasing a new home and had Roof Doctors as part of our home inspection. We were so impressed with their report which was very detailed and included pictures which showed the issues and the fact they actually got on top of the roof to inspect. I would highly recommend Roof Doctors and use them again! I should add that another competing company by the name of True Roof provided a 'clear' report with NO pictures or anything! Roof Doctor's came in after them and showed tons of issues. We are grateful for their honest work and thoroughness!

Thanks!

I vascilating on this review quite a bit before leaving it. While it's very easy to find a company to replace a roof, I found it hard to find a company to do repairs. The end result with roof doctors was good - the technician ultimately did a good job and I would use them again.

The office staff or call center could definitely use some customer service training. It was very difficult to get the paperwork sent to me and the attitudes of the staff were somewhat combative.
