After calling 8 or 9 roofers, getting 2 calls back and only 1 come out to look at our roof, and another not show up for 2 appointments, I went through some old paperwork after remembering I had Ron Raffo do the sidewall shingling on my garage/office years ago. He did a great job 12 years ago so I gave him a call. He returned my call in a timely fashion, showed up when he said he was going to, and provided a quote that was just a bit under the other quote that took me forever to get.
Since I had experience with Ron I choose him and have not regretted it for a second. He's a super nice guy, down to earth, showed up on time and took the time to do the job right. I had someone else do a repair 3 years ago that was a total botch job. Ron stayed on budget and showed me what they were doing along the way. I'll definitely be using him in the future and highly recommend him for either sidewall or roofing shingle jobs.

Ron Raffo roofing, awesome guy. Reroofed my house in record time even after his own house burned down in the Tubbs fire.Worked with me on price and did a great job.

Ron responded to my inquiry the same day regarding some leaks in my roof. He came out climbed the roof which is concrete tile and detected the problem in two locations. He came back the next day and along with Rudy his very capable assistant fixed the leaking areas. Ron is the owner and worked the job from beginning to end. He is a stand up guy, explains the problem and goes into detail on the repair. I could not be more pleased. Roofing is his speciality, do not hesitate to call him for your roofing needs.

Last year Mr. Raffo came out to put a new roof on a few older sections of our house. Unfortunately we were in a rush to have it done and didn't receive any other estimates. Once he got up on the roof he told us there were too many layers on it already and he was going to add $500 on to complete the job, Then we discovered that he had neglected to include a side section of the roof in his estimate and he refused to repair it. It was the edge of the roof he was hired to do yet he ""didn't see it"". He was rude and messy and we were unhappy with the results and cost. Lesson learned. We have since had roofers come out to give estimates and one was appalled at the condition our year old roof. He said that it was clear from just looking that there were too many layers of tile and that it should have been included in the original estimate, the flashings (which are not visible from the ground level) were not replaced or tamped down just masked. I feel completely taken advantage of by Ron Raffo Roofing and regret ever hiring them. Please don't make the same mistake.

Friendly guy, probably overdue to retire. Damage occurred to our home during the roof install, and he was increasingly reluctant and unprofessional in our interactions with him to rectify this issue. Multiple conversations later, with a few of them including inappropriate language on his part, resulted in a mediocre repair job that was half finished. We had requested a repair invoice, and for him to call if he was coming to work on the roof. He did neither of these. I wouldn't go so far as to say he trespassed, but it was unprofessional of him to disregard the request for the repair agreement to be in writing and for him to enter our property without our permission (multiple times) when we had specifically asked him to do so.
For having been in this business so long, we were quite surprised that he was so unprofessional about handling it. We have since had to seek other remedies to fix it. I don't recommend this roofer. We had hoped for a great experience, since he was so willing initially to work with us for a good price, but the job resulted in significant damage. Not worth it. Seek your roof install elsewhere.

I would not recommend Mr Raffo. He re-roofed a shed attached to my main house. He recommended a glue backed sheet membrane that was applied with heat.
The slope of the existing shed roof was very slight and an adjustment was made to the slope for better drainage.
The shed leaked worse than prior to the removal of the old roof. I called Mr Raffo and he said the work was not guaranteed, but that he would come and put a tarp on it.
Which he did and charged me for.
When I had another roofer repair the roof, he took pictures of the product Mr Raffo applied, which showed that the backing on the sheet material had not been removed per manufacturer's instruction.
It was repaired and never leaked again.
I would NOT recommend using this company.

I have no reason to doubt the quality of Ron's work, and he's certainly a very friendly guy, who seems willing to work hard. But I had several communication problems with him, and ultimately he asked me to pay about 25% more than his quoted number. Now, it's my first roof, and I know that some amount of quote inflation is par for the course. But this seems like a lot, and there was never any attempt to discuss with me what unexpected things were arising during the work-- I just got the bill afterwards. I think part of the reason for that is that although he did show up on the first day and worked, he was just doing manual labor himself. There was some sort of foreman who was clearly in charge, and when I asked about a particular leak concern, he had to ask the foreman what he thought should be done. Not sure what that's about, but not what I was expecting from the owner of the company.
Ultimately I think that Ron may be a better roofer than he is a businessman or customer service guy. If I were going to do business him, I would want to lay out ahead of time exactly what work was going to get done when, and what potential there was for terms to change, and how that would be handled. Caveat emptor.
