Ed Romero, his grandson, Eddie, and their crew are professional, hard working, and stand by their work. I had my roof replaced and a sky tunnel installed. They did the work quickly and came back a couple of weeks later to check up on it to make sure everything was ok. We had some damage on the sidewalk from their truck and they hired someone to take care of it. They even came back to check on the sidewalk and fixed a few areas the contractor missed. We did have to wait a little bit as they have other customers on their list, but they kept us posted on the wait. Their prices were reasonable and their work was excellent.

Yes.. these guys are experts in roofs. I had a leak in one of the windows and the problem had been bothering us for over 2 months. I talked to several folks.. and each would give me a different perspective.. I had a handy man come in couple of times and try to fix it but couldn't. I had estimates which were ridiculously high.

Eddie and his helper just knew what they were doing.. did a water test and fixed the flow of water on the roof within 30 minutes. I have no hesitation calling Eddie the 'Roof Doctor'.. I wish the real doctors are as passionate with their patients as Eddie (was with the roof) J

I really tried to give these guys a chance. I first called them a year ago - after a storm blew tiles off my roof. Edward went out and said a few tiles were missing and my drains needed cleaning and covers. He also told me the membrane was fine so there was no need to hurry and I could fix it during the summer.

A couple months later, my tenants called after a rainstorm and said that the roof was now leaking and there was a stain on the ceiling. I called Edward again, told him there was a leak, and asked him to go by to take a look because I wasn't sure if this was related to the missing tiles or not.

I gave him my tenants phone number, and told my tenant to expect a call. I assumed it was being taken care of. But a full month later, my tenant tells me she hadn't received any call. Called Edward AGAIN...he assures me he will go by.

Long story short, I expected he'd call me with his findings but I NEVER got a follow up call from Edward. Several weeks go by. I had to call him a few times before I finally got a call back. He said the leak was in the area of the missing tiles so I told him to please just go ahead and do all the work, including the gutters. At this point I just wanted it done.

That was in the SUMMER. Now it is NOVEMBER and the work STILL has not been done. I have called at least 3-4 times, and keep being told I am ""on their list.""

I understand if there are people ahead of me, but the truth of the matter is I highly doubt there are that many people waiting 6 MONTHS like me. Obviously my small job just has zero priority for them. And now it is raining.....

The worst thing is: I have completely lost faith in this company because even though Edward told me at the start that the repair could wait, I have now called 3 other roofing companies and every single one of them has told me that the membrane under the red clay tiles DEGRADES QUICKLY when exposed to heat and sun! If I had known this, there is no way I would ever have let my roof sit unrepaired for months and months and months. I trusted what I heard, and now a year later I am hearing something completely different.

I try to give small companies a chance, but this was just a huge mistake in my case. If they weren't going to do my job, they should have just TOLD ME that, rather than stringing me along like this. I could have/should have found someone else long ago.

I told Romero Roofing to take me off their list. I don't see why I should actually give them my business, after all this.

Maybe - MAYBE - if you have a really big job, like an entire roof, the service is better because you'll be higher priority. But if you have a leak and a ""small"" roof repair - beware. I'm not sure you'll ever be at the top of their list, I obviously wasn't.

Ed is calm and fair. Eddie is a nice guy, upbeat and hardworking as hell. Family owned, hard working and affordable!
