Called RJ regarding roofing issues. At first when he answered the call he was so polite and nice. He stressed to me he has 30 + yrs of experience on roofing. He said for coming over he would charge 125, but on his website estimates were free. On the phone he said he does all sort of roof be it a tile or a composition but when he arrived, he was whining about my tile roof like a million times. ""ohh i hate tiles, its not good, it doesn't last long etc, etc... that really annoyed me. If he doesn't like tile, why cant he be upfront over the phone?
i don't mind paying him some extra bucks but his service was very poor. Rj was very messy and he doesn't clean up after he finishes his job. He got on to my roof and came down leaving behind some junk on it. What the heck? He spent less than 20 mins and ripped my money. i paid him more than what he said he would charge for an hour. Few days later our roof problem were not solved and when i called him again he gave me tons of excuses saying he is busy, it's raining, etc, etc....He also mentioned he doesn't like to come back and fourth! To me that was very rude.
Overall that is not the kind of attitude that i expected. You can charge you client a bit more but bottom line you should do a good job. I'm sorry to say this but i want others to be aware and not wasting their money on this kind of roofers.

I found RJ Bean roofing on Yelp. I called and he came out quickly, inspected my roof, told me what needed to be repaired and how much it would cost. He came back with supplies the next day and completed the repairs I needed to keep my roof in good shape for the winter. I was pleased that he was so easy to talk to and explained the repairs in a simple way and got the job done quickly. I feel good that my roof is repaired and water tight now.

Horrible Experience~do not use this roofing company unless you want RJ to promise day after day he's show up and constantly a no show. Took 2 weeks to complete the roof...promised 3 days. He informed us that he actually started other roofing jobs before completing ours. He charged us $2,200 more than he quoted. RJ was really nice and professional in the beginning than very rude and unreachable before the job was complete. RJ demanded his money before he even completed the job. This roof was scheduled to be started and completed well before Thanksgiving. With all the no shows our guests from out of town that was visiting for 8 days during Holidays had the pleasure of listening to banging hammers, saws, dust, messy yards. Instead of enjoying the Holidays visiting. We had to stay home on days RJ was going to come by and work on the roof only to have a no show. This roofer is not worth the hassle...unreliable...not professional.

RJ just finished a roof on our house, and dealing with him was a real pleasure. He is very knowledgeable about his craft, and I never got the sense he was selling me on what my house didn't need. He not only helps with the decision-making, but then he's the one up there doing the work himself. The city inspector that came to sign permits said that he thought RJ did nice work.
He clearly is confident in his work and takes pride in doing it well.
He is neat, considerate, and a general good guy. Highly recommended.

I am very pleased with RJ's work. I had a 14 year old tar and gravel roof that was in desperate need of replacement. RJ gave a fair and competitive bid. He was honest about what work needed to be done and what the best solution was for my roof. He promised the job would be professional, neat and done within four days. He met everyone of his promises.

RJ was never late for an appointment. He kept in constant phone contact with me during the project. The new roof is a major improvement on my older home. Neighbors have commented on the new look.

I highly recommend RJ for anyone's roofing needs.

I worked with RJ for the first time last week, and could not have been happier.

We came downstairs after the last big rainstorm to find a water spot in our entry way ceiling. I found RJ on this website, and called. He returned my call that day, was out the next morning to view the job. I was immediately comfortable with his knowledge, approach and manner, and his quotation was reasonable.

He came out next business day, was on time, he patched the roof, and cleaned out all of the gutters. In the process he found some additional sealing that needed to be done on the roof as well as around the chimney, and took care of that without an additional charge. He left the extra job material with us in case we had problems in the future, so we wouldn't have to pay for it again. Nice touch.

Several days after RJ was out, we had another rainstorm, with some pretty good wind...he phoned today, Memorial Day, to follow up and make sure we didn't have any more problems, and make sure his work held up...he thanked me again for the business...on a holiday...again, very thoughtful guy, and thorough.

I have put him on a standing order to come out in fall to do a pre winter check on the roof, and to make sure the gutters and downspouts are clear before the rainy season starts.

We called because we needed our gutters cleaned, but we got much more! We assumed that the leak around a window was due to a patio cover needing reinforcement where it connected to the house, but RJ inspected the roof while he was up there and found we had cracked seals around our vents. (I had no idea there were vents on the roof, much less cracked seals!) He replaced them, and we've had two good downpours since, and no more leakage! The price was right, and the work was done quickly. He let us know that our roof had about 3 good years left, so we'll be calling him again when the time comes.

All round good experience dealing with RJ Bean on two accasions. The first time was replacement and repair of gutters which was done quickly and well and at a very reasonable price. More recently, I had my shake roof replaced with tiles. RJ's price was competitive, he always followed through on his commitments, was pleasant and straightforward to deal with and the final job looked great. He even came back (after being paid) to do some finishing touches that I was not even aware were needed.

I needed repairs to my old, decaying shake roof. Many roofers do not like jobs like this, because when a roof is in poor condition like mine, they cannot offer a warranty. But I believed that my roof could last five more years (or longer) with competent repairs.

RJ Bean gave a competitive quote, then completed the job quickly. The team needed to insert dozens of shakes where felt was exposed, plus made repairs to the ridge line. The roof looks much better, and I can no longer see sunlight through the garage roof!

RJ Bean will get my first call when it's time to replace the roof in a few years.

RJ put in a new roof for us in July. We had several other bids but because of his commitment and follow through he got the job hands down. He always returned our calls promptly and answered all of our questions. He was considerate enough to bring by color samples and sit with us to discuss our options a second time. He met every deadline and did an excellent job. We are so happy with the completed project.
