I was referred to Gordon Richardson for some roof repairs based on the recommendation of my real estate agent. He was very prompt with responding, and was able to get my roof fixed ASAP. He was quite upfront about what I did and did not need, and didn't try to upsell me on extra services. For comparison, some of the other roofers tried to convince me to get an entirely new roof while Gordon thought it would still last several more years. I would very likely use him again in the future if I have more roofing needs (fingers crossed)

I used Richardson Roofing service back to June 2015 to replace part of my roof by paying $2400 and then in early 2017 I found leaking in my garage again from the same area on my roof that Richardson had repaired and I paid $700 again for such repair. (you know SD normally won't rain heavily so it is hard to find if the leaking is fix or not. However, in 2016, it rained a lot and I found my garage is still leaking)

In the contract, Richardson said there will be 10 years warranty from the completion date. However, Richardson just couldn't find the root cause of the leaking in my garage after came 2 times to recheck the leaking. Later on, he never returned my SMS or pick up my phone and he just disappeared.

I am so frustrated and I paid over $3000 for the repair but nothing was fixed at all. All I want is either my money back or Richardson can fix the leaking.

Scope of Work: Reroof upper section at right side. 1.) Remove tiles from over roof section. 2.) Clean and smooth surface of roof. 3.) Remove any pipes/vents on this roof section. 4.) Install two layers SBS Modified 40# underlayment. 5.) Install roof tiles. 6.) Install secondary flashings on pipes/vents. 7.) Paint pipes/vents to match roof. 8.) Replace broken roof tiles on all roof sections. Labor Warranty: 10 years from completion of roof.

Gordon is a lifesaver. Not only he came out the next morning to take a look at my roof but he gave me and my buyers an ease of mind. Long story short, my house is currently under escrow, things were found during the home inspection that made it sound like it was the end of the world. Gordon came out and looked at what the inspector found. $5000 ball park from the inspector vs the $95 easy fix from Gordon. Thank you so much!!!!

Gordon Richardson repaired our roof today. He was professional, responding to messages in a timely manner, punctual with our estimate appointment the previous day, punctual about arriving to our home to repair our roof and communicated in a very calm, easy to understand and respectful demeanor. With the recent rain this past Thursday, Nov 29, we noticed wet spots in certain areas in our home. He was respectful in entering our home by taking his shoes off to inspect the spots on the ceiling. He went on our roof to inspect our roof tiles & condition. Gave us an estimate and described what needed to be done & why our home is experiencing leaks and why certain tiles may have slid off. He gave us a reasonable quote. Our roof was repaired within the next day since he had an availability to accommodate us into his schedule.
I would certainly use his roofing services again, if needed (hopefully not since he just worked on our roof) & would highly recommend Richardson Roofing!

Gordon offered me the most reasonable price, though he didn't charge me anything after he diagnosed there was actually no issue. He is an honest man, in contrast to some rip-off roofing company which asked for $1000 for ""repair"". Definitely will hire him again and recommend him to everyone.

Family-owned business that takes pride in their work and hand-nails all shingles! Gordon is kind and a man of his word. He provides honest pricing and keeps you up to date on any ad-hoc project needs (like if rotted wood needs replacing). He will make sure to use only the best materials and secure them as much as possible to protect your home. As mentioned by other reviewers, their work duration may be longer because of their small staff, but rest assured they are paying mind to every detail (down to matching the pipe and vent paint to blend in). Lastly, they take your feedback seriously and will accommodate it to make you 100% satisfied.

Gordon and Nate are an awesome Father & Son team. They are honest and hard-working Professionals who have been in the business for some time and their work proves that. I had interviewed 5 roofing companies and I chose Richardson Roofing based on their experience and genuinity towards our roof's needs. A few Contractors did not care to go up on the roof to inspect, but just count tiles from the street. Gordon was one out of two Contractors who actually went up on the roof and spent some time inspecting rather than guessing. Shows a lot of character and quality in their work. The work I had done was replacing the original paper with newly updated paper and a few plywood sections where rotting had occurred which included relaying of the tiles and even adding another row of tiles to improve the drain flow off the roof's design. Highly recommend if you need to fix the roof above your head. Also, they gave me baby fig trees to plant in exchange for some fruit in my backyard. Really humble in my opinion

We needed 4 cracked roof tiles replaced, and reached out to a few roofing companies here on Yelp. A few of the larger companies replied that their minimum was $500 even if all we needed was one tile replaced. Yikes! Richard Roofing replied to my message with a reasonable price, and I had a good feeling about Gordon the owner so I booked them. Upon meeting him he seemed to be an honest, reliable guy. They did a stellar job and I'll definitely be calling them for future roof needs.
