Just got my roof re-done by Rex Roofing and would highly recommend this company! John is the owner and John's son Rex was the main point of contact for all communication including estimates and questions. John was overseeing his team the entire time they were working on my roof which was reassuring. They were quick to respond, and answered all my questions patiently and in detail. Their workmanship was great and the roof looks amazing. They also did an amazing job with cleaning up all the mess after the job was done, and I am very satisfied overall. Would highly recommend to anyone needing a roofing job!

***Buyer beware!! Do not hire these people under any circumstances!!!***
We had our roof reroofed by Rex in 2020. Fast forward two years, and the roof started leaking. I made multiple attempts to contact Rex Roofing about our leaking roof via phone and email. Most times the voicemail was full or the line was busy. When I got through and spoke to the owner, he said they would come and fix it. They would come and do a small patch, and it would leak again. This happened multiple times. Over and over over the course of a year. I'm a very patient person, but this was too much. So much of my time was spent chasing them. By the end, I asked for a reroof for just that section because the patches weren't helping, but that request was refused.
In the end, we had to pay another roofer to do the reroof. The roof is now dry, even through the heavy rains. So I know that Rex's job was faulty. We talked, I asked them to pay for the reroof and we verbally settled on a payment plan. They then got their insurance company involved, who also never responded to my calls or emails at all. Rex finally said that they changed their minds and weren't going to pay for the reroof. They ended up slandering our second roofer, saying that their photos were false. That they must have been from another property because that was not the job they did. I have other photos of the roof, and it was identical to the photo the second roofer used. I've never dealt with a company this clearly insane before.
The whole process was infuriating and really unbelievable. I have so much respect for contractors. I work with many of them. Even the ones that are difficult don't deserve a negative review in my book. Running a small business is hard. I wouldn't publish a negative review unless I felt incredibly strongly about it, because it's a reputation on the line. Regarding Rex, I want everyone in the world to see what they're doing. They clearly take advantage of people by using sub-par materials, then not standing behind their work. No one should have to deal with a company like this. It's just not right and they should go out of business.

Paid $21,400 for a mess up job. No roof anywhere looks like it.
They didn't do the job right the first time and keep asking for more money and keep changing people and keep not showing up for repairs.
Looks like they under quote to get the job then keep adding - first $2,500 then another $2,500 so a total of $5,000 more - that I paid; then a new guy asks for $200 more which I refused.
Keep changing people - looks like I'll get an English speaker who call himself Rex but throughout I'd to struggle hard to understand a Korean speaker John. Seen Rex only that one time.
Company uses Rex's good English to get the job, but John is the actual person customer gets - he's fine just that I only speak English, no Korean no Spanish.
Felt like bait and switch, misrepresentation, and senior scam & abuse because 18 years roofer can't do such bad work. I like them all because they are friendly and respectful; I don't know why it doesn't show up in the work they do.
They promise to come repair and first Rex said one week then another week then another two weeks then Oct 18 - then text can't get through and no communication since.
1. The gutter/roof line at the front is not balance - nobody's gutter/roof line is like that.
The down spout should be on the side of the house and where all the neighbor's are.
Now it's at the front of the house shading one light.
They broke the other light too - it's a pair that came with the house - since 1952.
I come home to those lights everyday.
2. The shingle at the front of the house is not flat making the whole roof line crooked - it should be straight like all roof lines of all the houses in my street and everywhere else.
Corner shingle is not flesh with the rest, making the whole edge crooked - no other roofs looked like that.
The ridges were installed wrong too.
Should start at one end to the other, like all the houses all around.
Not start at 2 ends to meet in the middle making ridges looked broken.
One of the ridges has different color shingles than the rest of the roof.
No house anywhere old or new has broken or unmatched color ridges and crooked edges.
3. Told John everything on the roof needs to be painted white but top and base of the chimney was not painted so it's 3 different colors on the roof now.
My nephew is out of town and I've arthritis and bad eyesight so I've to depend on their expertise, work ethic, and goodwill - they got none.
They don't care about customers or themselves or their company.
Please note - I didn't negotiate any change orders - they keep changing prices, persons, and repair schedules.
Gutters, ridges, edge, chimney all need to be fixed and my broken 1952 light is gone forever - I went around antique and specialty shops - can't find a match.
It'll be ""all is well that ends well"" if they come do the repairs which should be easy for them - don't know why they suddenly go silent and leave me all alone.

Contacted Rex roofing for the building I manage. They first came to do a walk through which was really fast and efficient. We moved forward with the service and they came right on time and finished within a couple hours of fixing some water damage. They worked clean and professionally. They were easy to get a hold of for any questions and were willing to answer all my questions I didn't understand without being annoyed of me.

Unreliable, subpar work, and unprofessional conduct. I hired them 6 months ago to do my roof and it has turned out to be a terrible decision. I got an estimate from them and decided to let them do the work. When they completed the job, I had my property manager review the work and when we looked at the completed job they skipped a section of the roof that was included in the job estimate, they did not use the quality materials that we agreed to, and they left the site sloppy. We ended up having to do some of the clean up ourselves. When I tried to discuss this with them they said they decided to skip that section of the roof because they believed it did not need work, even though I paid for that work and believed it needed to be redone at the same time. During the rain storm in March, water from the storm was pooling on sections of the roof and not draining because they did not grade the roof properly. Overall, this has been a frustrating experience, the work is obviously cheap and bad, and a huge waste of money.

I highly recommend Rex roofing. They were always on time, always cleaned up and were respectful of my satisfaction. Given the supply chain challenges we all face these days, they were very fair when it came to some cost increases they faced against original estimates. I ran into other challenges with my roof that they dealt with as part of the original scope. Very please with the work they did to install a brand new roof and two skylights.

After 5 estimates decided on Rex Roofing and I'm glad we did. Their estimate for a brand new roof also included new gutters. They were prompt, efficient, considerate, professional and affordable. I would highly recommend Rex Roofing for your roofing needs.

DO NOT use Chung or Chang roofing, or use at your own risk. I had leaks, but because of the drought I could not tell if my roof leaked. Come to find out the job was improperly done. I had Rex Roofing come out to fix the problem and they did a fantastic job. I also had them replace the facia board. I appreciate them cleaning up every day. No problems here with me! Will refer to friends and family, thanks again!

Great roofing company that I am happy to recommend! Excellent workmanship, professional, and respectful. Our consultation with John was quick and efficient; he understood what we were looking for and was able to work out several options for us. The team that worked on our roof showed up every day to work as promised and they stayed on site to get the job done, always ending the day around 5pm by sweeping up any debris that fell around the house and giving us an update on the progress and what to expect for the next day. Thanks Rex Roofing!

Had a fantastic experience with Rex roofing. They were the first to respond with great pricing (best out of 3) for a new roof that's sorely needed for my Alhambra house.
Eric was super responsive and a great communicator. After scheduling a quick visit, they sent me a quick written bid that was clear and straightforward and priced very well and fair. They only recommended replacing what was needed. They said my patio and garage roof was fine and they advised that I only replace the roof for the main 2,000 sq. Ft house which saved me money.
I have a great friend nearby who is a general contractor and he came by to inspect the work first hand as well and confirmed they did great.
Eric from Rex handled all the paperwork, city inspections and their fees, he was in touch every day with me to update me on progress and the job was done on time and as scheduled. They cleaned up well and it was problem free!
They did some extra cleaning of skylights, touch up painting of gutters and even removed some wasp hives for free!
I HIGHLY recommend Rex roofing!
I have asked Rex to inspect my sister's house as well! Thanks for a job well done...I will definitely continue to refer more business to you!!!
