For over fifty years, we have been roofing in San Diego! Nothing enhances a home quite like a new roof...
Since the age of 12, Seth has been immersed in roofing. Growing up with a father who was a custom home builder, Seth spent his summers learning the trade. He developed a love for roofing and waterproofing early on. “Seeing a roof come to life from an idea to a completed installation excites me daily,” he says.

Their billing department needs a lot of work. I went through my insurance and they agreed on the final amount. My insurance paid everything they requested. Now, they are up charging me an amount I've already paid. They invoice at every turn, but they don't apply the payment to the correct invoice. My roof looks great, the ladies in the other office are great. But, their billing is a mess. I was told billing would call me today to discuss this matter. The correct amount I owe. I did not receive a call.
Update: The CEO reached out to me this morning. I am very impressed. He was very nice and we had a nice chat. He resolved my billing issue quickly and professionally. Thank very much!
Had rain gutters installed and I am very please with the whole experience. From the inquiry to the finished product the process was effortless. Communication with the office was professional and courteous with a cheerful attitude. Installers were professional and courteous answering all my questions and always cleaning up at the end of the day in preparation for the next day. My project was a whole house with an RV garage and gazebo so it took a few days. Very pleased and would highly recommend for your rain gutter needs!!!
Sara C.I am honestly bewildered as to what happened. Our experience with this company has been very disappointing. We highly recommend avoiding them.
(After this review our issues were eventually addressed)
We have worked with many contractors over the years. When I met my husband ten years ago he was very successfully buying, remodeling, and selling homes by the dozens. He is also a Certified Real Property Appraiser and Real Estate Broker. He has inspected and analyzed hundreds of homes per year for 18 years. So with much real estate experience and having worked with every type and quality of contractor when it came to putting a new roof on our home we know cheaper isn't always better.
Although there are many other less expensive, high integrity roofers in San Diego that we could have called, we paid more than we knew we should because we wanted the peace of mind, good work, and integrity from a company we thought we could trust, Resilient Roofing. In this instance we went with a recommendation from a friend instead of our normal route which would include exhaustive research and getting many bids. Our mistake.
Some touch points with the company were great early on, but the execution and quality of some of the work, then response to said work has been terrible. I have read the other great reviews here on Yelp and I'm confused as to why our experience is so different. Maybe it's because we're just a little house in La Mesa? Whatever the reason we've been left with crooked ridge caps and an almost indescribably bad fascia repair on the front of the house (see photos). Then after voicing our concerns we were eventually told ""it will pass code"" so we will not do the repairs. So now after paying them $13k for our 1,100 Sq.Ft. house, we will have to pay someone else to come and fix their terrible workmanship.
Per the contract cover letter, the owner is obsessed with attention to detail and exceeding expectations, but we have not received that attention. We were told that higher ups would be consulted in the next meeting to decide how to fix the problems, so we assume they had the final word.
We feel duped and disappointed. We are out $13k + solar removal and replace costs, left with a mostly awful experience, and a very poorly executed front facing fascia replacement and wonky ridge caps. And for us, this shoddy work puts the quality of the entire project into question. Funny thing is, as we recall, we were even told by their own ""Roof Tech"", Tanner, who I believe is related to the owner, that the quality of the workmanship was poor and ""not something we want to put our name on"". Okay, what happened? Again, I am just befuddled as to why they wouldn't just fix the already acknowledged poorly done work. Another funny tidbit is that even the inspector from the city that came out to sign off on the work said, ""What's the big deal, why don't they just fix it?"" Thank you, we are asking ourselves that exact question.
We get it, we're not unreasonable people, bad work happens, not a problem. Leaving that bad work uncorrected, that's the problem. Saying, ""have the painter fix it"" is unacceptable.
Other demoralizing experiences included having the skylight to our bathroom being taken off while I was in there and instead of looking away he watched me get up and out of the bathroom. I felt humiliated. Then hearing the same foreman using foul language that seemed to be directed at us after we had tried to point out the questionable workmanship. All just very ugly stuff that no homeowner/customer should experience.
Doing a tear-off and new roof is a big deal and expensive. It's so important to be confident with the company you choose. So, fool me once...
We have a house and a four unit apartment complex in Pacific Beach in need of tear off and re-roofing and sadly we cannot say that we have found our go-to roofer that we would always use and recommend to friends, family, or clients. It's a shame, we feel that Resilient Roofing did not deliver on their own mission statement.
Oh, and one more thing, their contract is extremely aggressive. Every aspect of their contract is to guarantee their payment without any protections for the customer. There were no performance requirements in the contract for Resilient Roofing, and absolutely no way out of the contract by the customer. They would get paid regardless of any extraordinary events, or poor performance on their part. My husband was able to negotiate the contract to ensure performance on their part, and non-penalty to us, the customer, if a third party (Solar company) were to delay the project. They also stipulate in their contract that they may assign the work to others... That is not good.
I can only speak on the service up to the quote. Unfortunately, I already subcontracted out part of my roof repair to someone else and was looking for another to do the rest, but having two companies do the roof would void any warranties. However, my experience with Eric Singer was still profitable. He was very informative with the needs of my roof, and I was able to take that information to my other contractor (who does general construction and doesn't specialize in roofing). There was a good follow-up on their part, but when I realized there would be no warranties because of the situation, my hands were tied and I had to reject their offer. This is usually my least favorite part of getting quotes because of how pushy some people can be. Eric gave a final appeal and ask if there's anything that would have me change my mind, but the conversation was over not long after that and he seemed understanding. Overall, I would say getting a quote from these guys was totally worth it and based on their knowledge, punctuality, follow-up, and non-pushy attitude, I would recommend at least giving them a call. Oh, and their price was probably about 20% more than my guy (again, non-roofer) but I'm still sitting here without shingles...haha. These guys promised they would have it done within two weeks and I believe them.
Tony J.Seth and his team are great. It can be hard to find a good contractor but Resilient is very trustworthy. Hard to go wrong with them!
I called this company out to give me a free estimate on my 16-year-old roof. I was basically trying to establish how much longevity I have left on my roof.
I met with Andrew and he was friendly, professional, honest, and walked me through the process. After his assessment, Andrew said I didn't need a new roof and that I have at least five plus years left before needing to replace it!
He did say if any of your other contractors say that you need a new roof, they are not being honest with you...
I would highly recommend this company for a free estimate and for your roof he needs.
Joe K.Daniel was a great salesman. Ashley was a wonderful liason between us and the workers. Work came out great. Didn't go the extra mile, but very nice workers
Jason K.Great company to work with from the beginning to the end of the project. Their salesman was very professional and thorough and the quote was well put together. The roof team worked hard through the hottest parts of the year redoing our 30 year old tile roof. Resilient really impressed me many months after the job was complete, when I reached out to them for some tile repair work due to some damage that our pergola company did. Resilient responded quickly with two guys who quickly fixed the issues, and what really set this company apart was that they did this work at no charge to us. A very stand-up company.
Excellent customer service and my new tile roof is beautiful!!
Happy to update previous review to report my roof project has been completed. Seth Larsen, Resilient Roofing owner and also Great Guy, reached out to me to finish job. After quickly resolving internal scheduling issues, that should eliminate job completions errors in the future, Resilient dispatched a couple more of their awesome workers to final the roof in under a day. Roof Complete with issues resolved. After rescheduling Seth and team followed up thru the completion. Thanks Seth!
