I just got a long overdue roof from Renovation roofing. I was impressed with everyone that works there, from the owner, to the roofers and Elizabeth that works in the office. I got way too many estimates, but theirs was the best bid, & they had the most options. I really like their warranty & feel good about it since they have been in business 20+ years already. I highly recommend them!

A brief Update to my review. After Renovation Roofing replaced my roof I had several leaks that caused internal water damage and they refused to make needed repairs, denied being at fault, blamed others, etc. And in the process came to my house on one occasion without authorization and would not tell me what they did. They belittled me directly to me, and to other people and lied to me and any other third party I contacted to get resolution. I had it inspected by another roofer and was advised it was installed out of compliance if building code. These are just a few of the examples of how I, as a paying customer, was treated by Renovation Roofing as my review would become way to long. I pursued a Contractors State Licensing Board complaint and won that complaint as it was deemed my roof was not installed to building code. My roof was installed October 2018 by Renovation Roofing and I was awarded in August 2019 and then received the money for reimbursement from Renovation Roofing September 2019 and can finally get my roof replaced correctly. This was a horrible and unnecessary experience.

I was given Jose's contact after another company was unable to complete the job due to their schedule. José briefly scheduled to see the issue and provided an explanation to what was needed. He provided pictures and explained the process of what needed to be done. He submitted the proposal and to my dismay it was a great price. He sent his guys over a few days later and completed the job. I was very satisfied and highly recommend him.

I love this company! They were flexible, worked with my needs and schedule. They did the work they said they were going to do in a timely manner and cleaned up with no trace that they were here. Communication was clear and they didn't gauge me on costs. My roof had been leaking and they not only fixed that leak but even found and repaired another I wasn't aware of. I would highly recommend this company. If only all home repair could be this easy.

Renovation roofing was highly recommended, and considering we have a leak in our roof, I called. They were extremely pleasant over the phone and even booked us right away. They said someone would be out Saturday from 8-3. You're thinking... that's 7 hours, someone is bound to show up and do their job. But sadly, no. No one showed, no one called. I called them after 3 and asked why no one had come and it appeared they had no recollection of the appointment, because they could not provide a response. I called again during the week, since I still hadn't heard from anyone regarding the matter. They acknowledged that I called and yet, still no response as to what happened.
I would STRONGLY encourage this company to practice simple courteous customer service: follow up. There was an obvious miscommunication with YOUR staff. Figure it out and return a phone call. It really is that simple.

UPDATE: I just received an estimate in the mail today. Is it customary to provide an estimate when no one has come out to my house?
Also, you have the wrong square footage.

When Ray first came out to my house I already had a few contractors come out and look at my chimney and roof when I talked to Ray he gave me some good information on what was wrong with my roof listening to him compared to what the other roofing companies told me I decided to go with Ray and his company I was very pleased with their workmanship of his work crew the information they gave me the fact that they took pictures before and after the Job was done I am very pleased with the work and the cleanup and the information he gave me after the job was done I would recommend this company for this kind of work again my chimney is re-stuccoed and looks great and so does my roof and it does not leak

The best roofing company around. I've been using renovation roofing on my project for several years now and have not found another company that meets their standards. Ray the owner goes the extra mile and personally visits the project. He always does his best to find the least expensive route and has the best prices around. The office staff are always on top of it and Courteous when I call. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for quality work with more than competitive prices.

My parents just had their roof redone with Renovation Roofing. The roof leaked during the most recent rain, they called Ray several times and he has not returned call yet. I guess the warranty isn't worth a damn then.

If this issue gets resolved successfully I will be more than happy to revise this review accordingly.

If it doesn't get resolved, they will have no choice but to report this to the BBB and an attorney if necessary.

This has been the worst experience I've had with contractors. We were provided an initial bid and approved the work. We were told the work would not begin until the week after contracting. We showed up at the property and work had already started.

At the end of the work we received an invoice for double the initial bid. I understand things may come up during the project but we, as the owners, were never notified of the additional work/materials needed, nor did we approve the work to continue. Ray could only give me 5 minutes and then his office staff could not get a hold of him for almost a week to return my question of who approved this work. Once an answer was received it was not who approved the work, but by law they had to do it.

At invoicing, after given no option for recourse, we sent payment for the amount. The check was made to the company instead of Ray personally. Instead of the accounting department notify us that it was made to the wrong party a bank error, which is what was agreed to, they cleared the check and then sent an additional invoice for more money.

I would never engage with this company again.

Contrary to what I have read on this site, the office staff were very pleasant and helpful from beginning to end. The job was completed on time, even though I had to postpone once, they fit me right back in before the change of weather. The guys worked in the 3 days of 100 plus heat here in SD. Ray, although quirky, :-), contacted me by text - yes it was 4:30 am, then followed up with phone call to clarify issues. His no-nonsense approach is how I deal too. Photos of my roof were sent with the estimate and after the job was completed. I would recommend this firm to anyone as long as you can deal with the truth and a solid estimate. He also offers discounts for seniors, cash etc. Win Win!
