BEWARE! I am writing this review so others will avoid the horrible experience with Renovation Roofing. If I could give Renovation Roofing NEGATIVE stars I would. I wish I was exaggerating but our experience with them required making a claim with their bond company which we were awarded 100% of our money back after their inspector evaluated the roofing job.
It's a long drawn out story so here are the highlights:
-R.R. was supposed to do a complete tear off on part of our roof (as stated in the contract) and apply a new roof
-Few months later after the first big rain (due to S. Cali's severe drought) we had more leaks than before R.R. did the new roof, 7 leaks to be exact under our new roof.
-After multiple roofing companies AND an independent home inspector (that used to be a roofing company) informed us that the roof was not applied correctly we contacted Ray (R.R.'s owner)
-Ray denied, denied, denied that they did a poor job and said that the 2 independent inspectors and other roofing companies were wrong.
-Stupid as this sounds, we even offered to do the rest of our roof with them (paying them another $12,000) if they would redo the part that they already did at no cost. This was 1 of 3 options we offered as our good faith effort to try to work things out. They did not accept.
-Long story short, we made a claim with their bond company. The bond company deemed that R.R. did not complete the job properly and paid us 100% of our money back.

Not only was the roofing job done completely inadequately but we were treated with disrespect and Ray showed no remorse or accountability for any of the roofing issues.

These guys were suppose to start on my parents roof weeks ago and never got started. They kept telling us that we're 3rd in line...2 WEEKS AGO! Very unprofessional! My parents just got the run around for weeks. I had to step in and tell these guys that were not gonna do business with them any longer. No reason to keep a customer waiting. If we're not next or a priority, just be honest and we'll find someone to do the job. Absolutely disappointed!

Spoke to a representative to setup roof estimate regarding a leak on our roof. They came out in a timely fashion. The quote was fair and we decided to go with them. They said expected wait for the work to be done would be two weeks. However after signing contract on Thursday they arrived on Monday. They were quick efficient only took a few hours. Now we wait for the rain.

Heard great report about Renovation Roofing (RR) from a neighbor. Got RR's and two other roof repair estimates. One for $18,000! RR estimated $650, provided photos of damaged sections, and was totally professional on site and on phone with office personnel. Job done ahead of estimated wait time. Done in a few hours with crew of 6+ workers. RR provided photos of work in progress and after completion. Final bill actually less than estimated!
I'm not related to or personally know anyone at RR, but am totally satisfied with a job well done. This is the best ""contracted work"" experience I've had in my 34 years of home ownership.

Renovation Roofing -VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Workers get to the site and they don't have any instructions on what to do. Very hard to get in touch with Ray (HE never returns calls) You call the office and when you do get a hold of someone the woman at the office is soooooo RUDE. We decided to cancel all work before they even started! Because they are very unprofessional. BEWARE!!!!!!!!

Avoid Renovation Roofing. They employ thieves. While working on the roof of our house, one of Ray's thieves broke into our house and stole my wife's iPad and cable. Of course, they all denied it after I confronted them when we discovered thed theft. We called the police and filed a report against Renovation Roofing and its thieves. We were going to file a small claims lawsuit against Ray and his thieves, but on returning home one afternoon, we found the iPad near the front door with a note that ""somebody"" found it. However, the cable to the iPad was still missing. I called Ray to see if he would pay for a new one. He agreed to do so, but then never responded again to my calls. Avoid Ray, Renovation Roofing, and his thieves. Stick with a reliable, conscientious roofer, who has some integrity.

This update is to correct a piece of information from my previous review and to provide some additional information that counters what the owner of Renovation Roofing stated in his reply.

First my correction. I posted a picture of my roof with a mastic patch that I mistakenly thought R.R installed on my roof (I will delete those pictures). That is not correct, it was on the roof before I purchased it. It was listed on the property inspection report that was dated 3/17/16 and there are photographs of the patch on the roof at that time on the inspection report.

My rebuttal to Renovation Roofing. The warranty issued on my roof was dated 3/15/16. This means that when R.R. inspected the roof and issued a warranty the mastic patch was already on the roof, therefore needs to be covered under the warranty that was sold to the previous owner and transferred to me. Renovation Roofing is still responsible for repairs to the roof regardless of the patch or not. They had a chance to decline to issue a warranty and didn't do so.

Since my initial review, R.R. has attempted to repair my leak again (5th attempt) but with no success...in fact my roof leaks worse than ever. I now have a new leak that I never had before. They left debris on my property to include nails on my patio. They show up with no notice that they are coming, they climb on the roof without attempting to contact the residents of the house and they leave without giving an update if they are done or if there is still work to do.

Today it rained, and today my roof leaked again...5 months after my first report...all of this could have been avoided if they fixed the roof correctly the first time.

I will post another update when/if R.R. honors the warranty and finally fixes my roof.

Renovation roofing was a sub contractor for my solar company I hired. I had three quotes and they seemed reasonable. They started the tear off the roof in November 2015 and it took them two days. They damaged wood and water leaked into my house, they did a horrible job. The company tried to charge me additional money for the roof. I took a bunch of pictures and called the solar company to come and check the job, they agreed with me. Do not get your roof done by renovation roofing you will regret it. You could do a better job doing it yourself. Renovation roofing also canceled my warranty on my roof. The solar company parted ways with renovation roofing also.

I have been shopping around for a roofer for about 6 months now so I had a pretty good idea what I wanted and a range of estimates to go on. I called Ray from work to set up an appointment and he said he would stop by my house that afternoon and that I did't need to be home. I really appreciated the convenience. The next day I get an email from Jennifer (she's a consummate professional) with a quote that fell right into my sweet spot. Once we established a date to begin work, the crew arrived on time, the foreman explained the process to me and they headed off to begin work. They placed a tarp around my entire property to catch falling debris, this was extremely important to me since I have dogs that like to put things in their mouth. The job was finished ahead of time and the crew made sure every nail, debris, saw dust and piece of wood was picked up from my property. What impressed me the most was the communication between myself, Ray, Jennifer and the work lead as well as the crew. We were all on the same page, that speaks volumes when choosing a contractor. I would highly recommend Renovation Roofing to anyone looking for a job done right!
