After reading the reviews I think I may have just avoided a disaster. Reached out to RC to have a bunch of punchwork done and a second story addition. First sign of trouble was they were not answering the introduction form. Was told that they had some chat feature being added to the website and that they were not receiving the communication. Tristan finally came out assessed the scope of the projects and assured us that it was something that they were able to handle. Never heard from him again. He wouldn't answer his personal phone or work calls. Called their office and the accounts payable employee answers the phone. She says it takes a couple of days for them to input the information to get a proposal. Explained it had been 3 weeks. Next day, when I called, she said she would email Tristan and the owner Anthony. Never heard from either one of them. My experiences are usually that I get started with a project to find the problems but having them present themselves before getting started is a new one for me. Thank you, Renaissance Contracting, for not taking my money and leaving me with a huge problem to deal with.

You've probably read about nightmare experiences with a contractor - I experienced it with this company. I would give a negative review if possible. From delays, to cost escalations, no-shows, over billing.... I urge caution if you engage this company. Have clear deadlines and NEVER pay them upfront.

In February, the week before Snowmageddon, we discovered a leak from the upstairs toilet that effected the flooring upstairs as well as the water heater closet, the garage & the laundry room. After the remediator dried everything out & removed the effected drywall & carpet padding, a plumber replaced the water heater, which was damaged beyond repair by the leak, & my insurance company recommended Renaissance Contracting. After numerous prods from my adjuster, an estimator was scheduled on 4/7/21. He no-showed. He finally showed up on 4/12/21. When I received the estimate 2 weeks later, it was for a one-story house. I have a 2-story house. Another estimator finally showed up on 5/12/21. Are you getting the picture? Renaissance finally completed the work on 9/27/21 after numerous delays and excuses. The work was done well but there's absolutely no excuse for the delays. We had no toilet upstairs from late April until the end of September because the toilet and all the flooring upstairs required replacement. About the flooring... I supplied the tile, cement board, thin set & grout as well as the toilet. We are a family of 6. It was an interesting time with only 1.5 fully functional bathrooms from April until September. NEVER USE RENAISSANCE!

Anthony and his crews are pros. In a city of below average contractors, this company excels w meeting expectations, tidiness and follow up.

These guys were terrible in almost every way. We contracted RC to remodel a utility room: light electrical, light plumbing, some framing, and some drywall work - a relatively easy project. RC were consistently behind schedule, argumentative and hard to work with, but worst of all, they seem to have no concern for quality at all. They cut corners during every phase of the project and in the end, their work was well below standard.

For example, they framed up walls without removing the flooring below the base plate and without removing the sheetrock from above the top plate. They cut the waterlines without draining the water first which ruined about 10 square feet of wood flooring in our living room. None of the walls they framed up were even close to square. One of the walls had a 2"" bow in the middle of the wall. The drywall work was no better - it ended up looking like a child's crude drawing.

After spending weeks trying to get them to correct their work (this was like pulling teeth), we finally asked them to leave, and ended up having finish/fix the project ourselves. Do yourself and your home a favor and avoid these guys.

We have used Anthony and his wonderful crew for many projects: major home remodel (we had a two story living room that we essentially cut it in half with a ceiling, making two rooms); kitchen update, bathroom update, flooring, cabinets, and arbor over patio.

Anthony is a highly professional, detail oriented, conscientious business owner. He provides detailed estimates and sticks to them and doesn't beat you up with the cost of change orders. --Always a fair guy.

Anthony comes complete with a fantastic crew. This is critical. In the past I have worked with contractors that hire out to the cheapest subs without any regard to their history. Anthony has high standards for his crew and subs, so together they deliver fantastic results.

You can not trust this company to do what they say. They promised that they could build a straight wall. The wall they rebuilt is like a roller coaster. They said they couldn't make it straight because they were trying to match it up to exisisting out of level framing. If they couldn't do it right, why did they say they could? They did a horrible job of overseeing the quality of work. We were always the ones pointing out problems such as warped walls, incorrect installation, and poor construction. For example there were studs not touching a supporting beam, they did not want to mortar under the hardibacker board, and they made several corners bowed. When we pointed it out, they said it was the original framing that was bad, and they would try to charge us more to correct mistakes they made. They did not have a high standard for the quality of their work. They were trying to get it done as quickly and cheaply as possible. The sheetrock work was terrible. They just patched bits and pieces of sheetrock together and then put a thick layer of mud to try to even it out. They said they do it this way to save money. I don't feel it saved any time or money because it took them twice as long to get the sheetrock smooth. In the end we have crooked walls and we will have to hire other people to fix their mistakes. We will be more careful with who we contract with again.
